Hotels in Albufeira, Portugal - your base to discover the city.
Albufeira HotelsFrom the elegant, whitewashed architecture of the Old Town to the funky pastel-coloured buildings of The Strip, Albufeira dazzles beneath the southern Portuguese sun. The pretty town clings to the hillside, ending abruptly at the sheer cliff-faces, where it gives way to some of the Algarve’s most beautiful beaches – the reason most people come here. Beach bars and restaurants line the promenades, creating a jovial and lively atmosphere, while the ocean offers a wealth of diving, boating and dolphin-watching opportunities. Things to seeExplore Albufeira’s cultural heart at the Old Town Square, dominated by the Clock Tower, a vestige of the city’s Moorish past. With its mosaic paving, terracotta rooftops and languorous palm trees, this area is intensely photogenic and romantic. In the day, the many cafés around the square are ideal for sipping a Portuguese coffee and watching the world go by, while at night, the square is illuminated and the bars swing into action with music and cocktails. Nearby is Fisherman’s Beach, a popular stretch of golden sand. It is still used by fishermen, so you’ll find the daily catch on restaurant menus here. A couple of miles further along the coast, you’ll find Oura Beach, where you can sunbathe in the sheltered cove or take off on a jet-ski. Nearby, the modern, colourful area known as The Strip is the centre of Albufeira’s nightlife, thrumming with music, people and lights.Hotels in AlbufeiraThere are some fantastic hotels in Albufeira, whether you’re searching for a luxury spa resort or a family-friendly apartment hotel.
