Just 6 kilometres south of town, Portoroz Airport is the closest gateway for international travellers. A small airport, it handles a petite selection of charter flights to and from Rome, Catania and Salerno. Most visitors however will find it more convenient to land at Trieste - Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport or Puna Airport, situated around 80 and 90 kilometres away respectively. Trieste serves a handful of useful European destinations, including London, Munich and Rome, whilst Pula is better connected and serves many more. Bus services into Portoroz are available from both airports, whilst a rental car can make a quicker alternative.
