Morzine Hotels

Situated high in the Rhones-Alps of France, Morzine is the main town of the Portes du Soleil ski resort – one of the largest in the world. Unlike purpose-built ski towns, Morzine is an authentic and attractive place, with traditional markets and quaint stone buildings. But the surrounding mountains are the main attraction. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders have access to almost 300 runs of varying difficulty, while in the summer the same terrain is a hit with mountain bikers.

Things to see

Morzine city centre will work its charms on you from the moment you arrive. In the winter months, it’s a cosy place, full of the glow of lights and log-fires, warming the après-skiers as they fill the bars and restaurants. In the summer, Morzine transforms into a colourful place of Farmers' Markets and flowers blooming in every shop window-box. As soon as you’ve settled in, the majestic alpine peaks await. The Super Morzine Ski Lift is located right in the centre of town, and will whisk you up to the Morzine ski resort. Once you’ve warmed up here, take the Zore Ski Lift to access other areas of the Portes du Soleil area. Snowboarders in particular will enjoy the Avoriaz Ski Resort, with its specialized parks and exhilarating free-riding slopes. In the summer, the same resort plays host to adrenaline-fuelled mountain bike competitions – thrilling even just as a spectator sport.
