Things to see

Saint-Raphael’s shore is gilded with several blissful beaches, which are undoubtedly the town’s biggest draws. Reclining just a stone’s throw from the resort’s centre, the main beach is every bit the Mediterranean cliché, with its golden sand and warm sparkling water. A short walk away you’ll find an even longer stretch lining the adjoining town of Frejus. Backed for much of its length by a palm-fringed promenade, it offers a myriad of water sports activities, as well as cafés and bars providing some icy refreshment. Frejus has no shortage of its own attractions either, including family favourite, Luna Park. An excitable hub of music and colourful lights, the bustling funfair offers rides for all ages, from the ghoulish ghost train to the traditional Big Wheel. Frejus Cathedral is a must-see for history buffs. Part of medieval complex dating from the 5th to 13th centuries, its characterful cloister features an intricately painted ceiling, adorned with biblical scenes and fantastical creatures.
