"close to all must-see sights"

Hotel in general is of a high standard. Service excellent, staff very friendly and cater to all needs efficiently. Food good quality with varied menu. Hotel and grounds/pool areas well maintained (see below). Entertainment high quality. Good daytime activities provided. Animation team second to none. Have been here several times before and would thoroughly recommend. Only down side is hotel beginning to look a little tired. Rooms and some communal areas could do with a re-vamp in near future to stop ratings falling.
"In a lovely setting but we are glad we had a car!"

The hotel is in a lovely setting in the mangroves. The hotel, restaurants and other buildings were kept very clean. The staff all over the hotel complex were always very happy and polite. I can't fault this hotel at all. The only two things I would say is 1. Take plenty of mosquito repellant and 2. We were glad to have a car to drive into Playa Del Carmen and and visit Coba and other places of interest.
"Great start to our holiday!"

Loved starting our holiday at Riu Lupita. All the staff were fab, the food was great and it was really clean and well looked after. Not sure it would have been my cup of tea for more than the three days we were there, but we were travelling round quite a bit and the hotel was obviously geared towards families. There was a great kids club and the show every night was entertaining - I've never seen staff who work so hard! Would definitely recommend to friends, especially those with children. Cheers for getting our holiday off to a fab start - it was quite tough when we realised that for the rest of our stay we'd actually have to start paying for food and drink!!
"A well oiled machine"

If you are looking for an all inclusive package with good service, variety and amenities then this place is perfect. The service was helpful and friendly, the food was plentiful and there was plenty of choice. Personally I stayed 3 days here and it was the dullest part of my two week vacation in mexico as I prefer smaller boutique hotels in towns where you actually meet locals and have a more rewarding experience. However for 3 days of convenience this hotel exceeded my expectations.
I really have no downsides to the hotel. It was a wonderful stay!! It would be nice to have the ability of wifi in the room though instead of going down to the lobby, but otherwise, clean, spacious, full of jungle animals all over the place so pull out your camera as soon as you arrive. beautiful beach, snorkleing was amazing, staff are friendly. we had a light blow the first evening and the next morning it was fixed which was great. great walking neighborhood and very close to the small shopping plaza, even a 30 min walk to the port and center. the tours offered by the hotel are nice, but there are so much more offered out there so mix and match. be warry of the people trying to offer you deals at the airport though. just keep walking by them and grab a cab to the port is you are arriving in cozumel. also, most everything there you can pay with pesos, us dollars. wifi though is on the room tab or pay with pasos. they have computers for use too if you dont bring yoru laptop. the food was great and so was the icecream. if we get back to mexico we'll stay there for sure!
