We booked a double room, when we arrived it was a 3/4 bed not a double, this was not made clear when booking. The bed was against the wall preventing us from sleeping and meaning it was uncomfortable for me and my partner was disturbed when i got out of the bed. The room was very warm during the night. We had a 2 night package which included breakfast on both mornings and 1 evening meal,The staff were friendly and helpful and the food very good. I know this hotel as I am originally from this area. So location was not a surprise. However the condition of the hotel is not 4 Star at best it is an average 3 star. We arrived not expecting to much for the location and price of the hotel but it was a real shock to see the size and quality of the room. I was pleased with my stay at the strathallan. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and efficient. It was good value and included an evening meal. I would recommend it as it's easy to get to and clean and comfortable.

Well located in the smart Edgbaston part of Birmingham. It's a 20min walk from the cricket ground or centre and within an easy stagger of several good curry houses. I stayed at the hotel on a saturday night. I thought it was in a very good location just a couple of minutes drive from broad street so not noisy at all.The hotel staff were friendly and the room was clean..Well worth paying it a visit.!!!

The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the city centre but well connected by buses as well. It is in good condition and the room was fine. An alarm was ringing constantly during the first night. We were told it was new and could not be turned off. It eventually went off at around 11.30. The second night was punctuated by some people who returned to their room late and talked loudly with their window open until 6.00 am. The noise and heat of the room were both disappointing. Stayed here for a wedding weekend so there were a few of us... to start off when you are greeted at reception by someone with scuffed up clothes and and cigarette burn holes in the trousers..not a good start.. Our room was a bigger executive and still hot..the normal rooms were extremely hot..and keeping the window is not an option as the noise from […] the road will keep you awake all night... at least they do bring you fans when asked for.. We only stayed one night and it was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The biggest complaint would be how terribly hot the entire hotel was. We opened our window but everyone else did as well and it got very noisy at night. But the reception was helpful, called us cabs, etc.

A good quality stay keeping in mind it is a 3* hotel. You might want to ask for a room that has a view; I had one on the inner 'circle' of the hotel, and thus viewed right into the air conditioning system. Furthermore, you will want to order your own taxis. The company the hotel used sent a car without a meter... but a taxi to Birmingham New Street […] station should cost around £7.50. Heads up! We stayed two nights B&B and had dinner on our second night. Nice hotel - not that attractive from the outside but lovely inside. The room was small but comfortable, clean and well furnished. We left […] our car in the secure on site car park and walked into Birmingham Town centre - a good 30 minute walk on the flat, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with buses running every 8 minutes. This hotel is excellent. The staff were friendly and the room was great everything you need for a short stay. The hotel is a great safe location with the bus stop right outsidethe door and various restuaranats close by, i would stay again and recommend to others!!

The Menzies Strathallan is well located a short taxi ride from Birmingham centre, but has easy access to restaurants close by. The rooms are ' compact ' but practical for a business stay and the food in the hotel is of a good standard. The staff generally were good although some of the font desk staff appear to have lost their sense of humour and knowledge […] of how guests expect to be treated, At check out the lady was less than happy to say the least Overall I would stay again if it was for a single night. The inside rooms were very warm (even with the window open ans minus 6c outside) staff were functional. Consider a little bit over priced when breakfast & parking added to bill. There are many alternatives in the area that are worth trying

My night stay at the Menzies was great, the room was clean, warm and had tea/coffee making facilities, a flat screen wall mounted TV which was perfectly situated on the wall if you were lying on the bed but also movable so you could be at the desk, for example and have good views. The bathroom was stocked with luxury toilitries and towels were fluffy, […] the power shower was delightful. The only let down was the view out of the iwndow - there wasnt one and noise as there was a wedding in the hotel and very noisy guests walking past several times in the early hours who also shouted between their windows. Excellent service, friendly helpful staff..worth paying extra for executive suite...Inner rooms overbearingly hot in Summer . Carpark only £3 for customers which is cheaper than most in the area. Good level of cleanliness
