"Booked non smoking room, got a smoking room"
I wasnt expecting much from this hotel based on the review, but there were no other places to stay in town. We booked a non smoking room and were given a smoking room. The front desk person came up to the room and agreed that the smell was pretty bad. He than said he would see what options he had and he came back with 3 types of air fresheners. "SMOKEY HOLLOW"
Unfortunately we did not get the rooms we were promised and were put in SMOKING ROOMS and the hotel was booked. It was absolutely awful. You could smell the smoke from the hallway. The hotel staff did spray air freshener but because of the years of allowing people to smoke, the toxic poisons had permeated the furnishings, carpet and draperies and could […] not be diffused. "Quality Inn in Lafayette Indiana"
We got our room and the tv didnt work so then we were moved to another room. The other room was way better than the first and it was a suite. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast provided by the hotel did not come on time and we were on a schedule. When it did get served, the donuts were cold and the variety of foods to choose […] from was very limited. this hotel is average no bells and whistles. We were there on a Purdue football weekend so the prices are outrageous for an average hotel.

Staff was very helpful, room had a tub that should be replaced and some drywall needed to back of toilet, room was clean and comfortable, good location for Purdue activities.

"I shouldn't complain about a home game weekend but"
I was afraid to touch anything in the room. I used shower shoes in the bathroom. The walls were nasty. However, the sheets appeared to be clean. But I probably wouldn't stay there again unless I'm desperate.

"This hotel was gross."
So the staff had no idea where their hotel was located and was completely unable to give directions when our gps was malfunctioning. After getting there we discovered stains on the covers, holes in the ceiling, holes in the shower curtain and towels, and a rollaway bed that smelled of filth and cigarettes. The staff didn't even deliver the rollaway; […] we brought it up the tiny guest elevator. "Quality Inn Lafayette IN"
The refrigerator in the room froze all my vegetables and fruit. Also it would have been nice to have a frig with a defined freezer compartment. Please consider updating your microwaves! The one in my room had only a dial for setting the cooking time, no digital/LED diplays. Warming anything was major guesswork! Thanks.

Very decent hotel for the price. Only a few improvements needed. Comforter had finger polish stain which was probably hard to wash out. Also, the headboard was a dirty and refrigerator was loud at night. Workout equipment was broken so they could use some maintenance improvement there but these were not major issues for me. "Good basic, clean hotel"
I've stayed here a few times--it's just fine for what it is: a good, basic hotel that is clean and has decent services. They even stored my bicycle in a closet so I didn't have to leave it on the back of the car.

This was very much a stop on the highway (I-65) I would not return to stay here. The place was pretty run down and not very clean. Ice machine broken on my floor, and did not feel family friendly at all.

I stay at hotels 3 times a week and this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I wasn't a smoking room, but the smell indicated different. The pool had sludge in it that I had never seen before. Will never stay here again!
"Great Service"
I got to check in three hours early. Everyone was very cool about it. Great value for the price. Could even swim past the pool closing time.
The room was clean and comfortable. There seemed to be an issue with the window overlooking the pool--it was foggy--but also could hear clearly conversations of people grilling on the sidewalk ---could smell the cigarette smoke too. Overall, good place to stop on our way through to Wisconsin.

The hotel was OK. Parking was very crowded with trucks at night. But the staff was very nice and tries to assist with guest as much as they can. Breakfast was good too.

The Bed and frame was broke down so it made for some uneasy sleeping when you feel like your sleeping sideways on a hill.

"Quality, it is not, Inn and Suites University"
The back door to the hotel was not locked. The door could not close all the way. So much for having key card access to a "secure building". I opened the drawer of the night stand, where the bible was kept and the drawer was full of ants!!! The hotel was booked because of Purdue's graduation ceremonys so there was no chance of obtaining a better room. […] I searched out a cleaning lady on the main floor of the hotel to ask for additional shampoo. She was sick - had no voice and was hacking as if she had TB. That lady should have been home in bed. I never stayed in a hotel so bad. The dirty BBQ grills outside the back door and on the pool deck, the semi trucks running their engines all night long and the drapery in the rooms that did not block the light of the parking lot. This was the worst stay in my life and I am ashamed to have booked this hotel with my kids. I will never stay at a Quality Inn again!!! "Ok"
The hotel was basic. Rooms could be updated. The bathrooms are very small- can barely turn around or close the door while inside. I was alone so it didn't matter. The window coverings only provided a black-out curtain, so if you opened the curtain you can see into other rooms and people can see into your room! The "hot breakfast" was a waffle machine […] and toaster. It was ok- nothing really special. The hotel was within walking distance of Wal-mart and surrounded by other fast food and casual dining locations. Plus it was close to freeway and major roads. All in all it fit my purpose. "The Quality Inn in Lafayette, IN"
Staff was courteous and helpful, even after we arrived home and discovered that I had left a library book in the room. I contacted them by phone and they found the book in Lost and Found which I was able to retrieve several days later when passing through Lafayette. I truly appreciate the honest workers and helpfulness shown to me.

"Worn out hotel"
This hotel is very tired. The entrance, hallways and elevator are worn and quite dirty. There is a nice continental breakfast in the morning, but the breakfast area is cramped and has no exhaust for heat-generating items like warming tray, toaster, etc., so with people in it the area is very uncomfortable.. All of the staff was very kind and helpful throughout our stay even though they were working in some very challenging conditions. The air conditioning in all of the hallways, the elevator and the lobby was broken and we were experiencing temps in 90 - 100 range daily. Thankfully the air conditioning in the room worked great. However when we pulled back the drapes to get a view of the outside and let in some light we found that the windows were terribly dirty inside and out. The breakfast was good but the coffee was very weak in the eating area. We chose to either make coffee in our room (provided by the hotel) or make the trip to Starbucks. The hotel is really well maintained overall and is convenient to everything. In walking distance to WalMart and IHOP and a very short drive to Starbucks. I had no complaints about my experience at the Quality Inn, Lafayette IN. They allowed me to check in early, which was great.
