The rooms were perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and the kids loved eating at the Nantucket Grill, so convenient! Most of all, the children enjoyed the rec area, pool, rock wall, mini basketball court play area and will probably want to go back to the Somerville Holiday Inn just to do this again! My wife had surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear Imfirmary and I needed a place to stay near the hospital.The rate was 100.00 to 200.00 better than anyone close to the hospital.I ended up being an 8 minute drive away. Staff was very helpful. Very close to the transit line. Convenient well lit on site parking lot. The neighborhood is somewhat tacky.

The hotel is brand new, super clean.Really nice furnishings in and out of the room. Pool area is also brand new. Friendly staff. Have stayed in this hotel many times over the years on trips to Boston. It is a short walk to the T subway station which makes transporation around the city easy and affordable. The hotel has been renovated and they did a nice job... room furnishings are contemporary and bed was very confortable.

This was a great pick, especially for my 8 yr old stepson! We actually set an alarm to get a little basketball in before heading out for sightseeing in the city! Great area for kids!!

Their pizza was good, however the rest of their food not so much. The breakfast buffet was awful and not worth the $. Everything else about the hotel was great.

Clean, affordable, nice pool/play area, recently renovated, free wifi, unattractive semi-industrial neighborhood but close to the T, free parking, free breakfast for kids 12 and under (two kids for every adult).

The hotel is very clean and the rooms updated and spacious. However, we were on a higher floor and the poor sealing of the windows made the room drafty, not to mention loud, when the wind blew. However my biggest complaint is that most of the staff we encountered were unhelpful or downright rude. (The restaurant servers are an exception.) The front […] desk employees were completely unsympathetic when I had a problem that was partially their fault. No smile, no apology, no offer to assist. I will not return to this hotel as a result, no matter how nice the rest of it is. Also, be aware that no matter how many people are booked in your room, you only get free breakfast for two of them. We were supposed to have two queen sized beds, but got two doubles. The fridge beeped like an alarm clock all night long, it was soft enough to make you think it was a clock in an adjoining room, but at 3am after not sleeping a wink we found it was the fridge and unplugged it. I stayed at the Holiday Inn with my son on New Years Eve, I live in Somerville so we stayed there to do something fun like go swimming.The pool was not open during the day the hours were 6:30 AM -10:00 AM and 4:00 PM - till 9:00. My plan was to eat breakfast, we did it was OK only because I had a free coupon for breakfast other wise it was terrible. […] Than we were going to swim before checking out. My 11 year old son went to the front desk to see what time the pool was going to open and they told him it was closing in ten minutes. He and I was very disappointed and checked out before the check out time. The manager said we could come back to use the pool at 4:00. Very poor service. I had to ask four times for them to turn the heat on in the exercise room at 11AM on Sunday. Someone finally came over at 11:30 and the problem still wasn't fixed. My internet was out and it couldn't be restored and their business center consisted of one computer in the main lobby which was in constant use. The hotel bar was closed […] Saturday night for a private party. We checked in around 8pm Saturday night and no one to help with our luggage. The hotel is overpriced because of its proximity to the T and downtown Boston. They are "in the midst of renovations, so they had all the snack machines removed". They did not have snack machines last year either. The dining room needs to commit to more attentive service and a wider choice of meals offered later into the evening and change the menu […] more . The dining room is well situated, given the lack of restaurants in the area, although I have never seen more than 4 parties in there at one time and it is harshly lit, wide open with poor service. Perhaps changing the layout of the dining room with some screens, putting in some softer lighting, will create an illusion of comfort and not of a school cafeteria, and obscure the underutilization of the restaurant to newcomers. The hotel is a comfortable place to park (especially in Somerville where you can be ticketed if you do not have a parking permit) and to sleep and the staff are courteous and helpful, but the ambience in the lobby is limited to a wide screen TV. There is no 24 hour coffeepot in the lobby and apples in bowls are the only snacks, ever. The bar does not seem to serve food. The hotel is working to be a more family friendly place by showing movies by the pool many nights. The wifi is a good touch. Читати далі

This was a pleasant surprise. Staying in down town boston was just way too expensive. So, I booked this hotel "outside" Boston for 1/3 the price. The difference was only 4 miles. I enjoyed my stay and it was a convenient 10 minute taxi ride to the city. I didn't explore the surrounding neighbourhood. The hotel was just a base for two day tours that I did and the location worked well for that.

There's nothing that was specifically wrong with the hotel, I was simply expecting more for the amount I paid. The first night we tried to get onto the wifi, only to find that the instructions in their little booklet were complete nonsense. Had to go back down to the lobby and ask for the username and password. Secondly I requested a room with a single […] king sized bed and couch. The room I got was a smaller room with two double beds. It's a short walk down to the Orange Line which was one of the main reasons I picked this hotel. The hotel had a lack of vending machines that was a little frustrating. I went out searching for them one night, only to find the only one they had had chips and shampoo, and there were no drinks. Even then, I tried to see if the front desk or restaurant could make change and they couldn't. And then every morning the cleaning staff would come by at like 9 in the morning. I don't know what they were thinking, but we like to sleep in while on vacation. And even with the sign on the door they'd keep coming back. So all in all the service was mediocre, the quality of the room was just average, and while the hotel was not horrible, it was very overpriced. Читати далі
