Second day swipe key would not work, went to desk and was told "machine" says it's working, now why would I walk to desk if "key" was working? Went to lobby on third day to eat breakfast and check out and found door locked, both swipe keys would not work, looked in, no one at desk. Free upgrade of room. Friendly staff. Room was a bit worn and only two people could shower before water got cold. Bed was comfortable and large. No tv in bedroom.

While the room appeared clean, it was worn. The sofa bed was well used and very uncomfortable ( the mattress has seen better days). The breakfast was phenomenal! Maid service was lacking. We had to make numerous trips to the office for things that should have been in the room (sheets on the bed) .

The room could have used a bit of an update, but as for comfort, it was really nice. There was a complete kitchen, large bathroom, and a small couch area. The price of the room was very low, but since it was an accessable room, they probably have vacancy's for these rooms. The area is in the north of Columbus near Worthington and is on one of the main […] east west corridors. It was very easy to get everything from there. We stayed at this hotel for a sale that was going on at the expo center. It was easy get to the highway, but the hotel is alittle hard to get to at first. The girl at check in was very nice. The room was alright but things were very old and wore out. The sofa bed was a real mess it just needed to be thrown out. The Tv was also really old but did work […] ok. The second night when we came back to our room it smelled really really bad. We still don't know what the smell was but after we left the door and window opened for awhile it did get better. The breakfast was very good although the second day the lady that was working was crabby and not friendly at all. I would stay again if we come back next year as they are trying to update things. Have stayed at a number of motels in the Columbus area over the past 15 years. Columbus North Hawthorn Suites can not be beat for overall value. Room was clean, service was good and the breakfast above average. Would definitely recommend it

This hotel was wonderful. The price was great. Near major highways. They gave me a free upgrade. The room was clean and spacious! The only criticism I would have was there had been snow and the steps to the room had not been cleared off. But they did send maintenance to salt the steps when I called. My husband and I stayed at this hotel on as one of our overnight stays during our cross country move from California to Maine. When we arrived we were pleased to find we had been upgraded from a standard queen room to their penthouse suite. Our suite included a fireplace, full kitchen, loft with another bed and bathroom in addition to the one in the […] main bedroom. The staff was very courteous and called to see if we were satisfied with the room and if we needed anything else. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Columbus North was the perfect rest stop for me. I spent tseveral days visiting friends and when I returned I was rewarded to a room that felt more like a home. A full kitchen, a wonderfully comfortable and clean bed, a couch to stretch out in front of the tv and plenty of room to shower and shave. The only drawback, the TV […] was so last century. The other room I had on a previous visit had a flat screen, this room had a tube TV, the only annoying feature. This place is convenient to shopping a grocery store, restaurants, freeway access, with great staff, hot breakfast, and convenient parking. Why would anyone choose to stay somewhere else? I never will that is for sure. I felt safe, secure, rested and ready for day time activities because I had a good night's sleep the night before. We had to be in town for a doctor appt. and the doctor actually offered to pay for our hotel. Since we came in a day early, we decided to book our own room. Wow! We were blown away by the size and extras offered in this room. It had a full kitchen and a nice couch as well as 2 queen beds! The price was less than any room we had reviewed and we decided […] just to keep this room and pay for it ourself instead of moving to the room paid for by our doctor!! I stay in town frequently and this is my preferred hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The rooms on the web site are much nicer than they appear when you arrive. The funiture is very old. I really wish that they would upgrade. Not a bad value for the money. Other than that I stay there at least 4 times a year when I travel to the area for various appointments

I like the idea of apartments turned into hotel rooms because it was a really nice, roomy room and the staff was super friendly. However, not sure whether the ceiling/floors are just not thick enough or if the person above us weighed 500 lbs, but that person chose to walk around heavy footed all night and then start again at 7:00AM. The staff was really friendly. Check in was easy, and the lady showed us how to get to our room really quick. The room was pretty good. Two queen beds, a sofa that also turned into a bed, a full kitchen, a TV, and bathroom. There was free wi-fi, and even a fireplace, which wasn't necessary since the heating system was more than efficient. There was […] two pizza places, and some other place to eat within walking distance, and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. The cons: there was a beetle in our room. I was okay, but my mother got freaked out. The shower made a lot of noise sometimes. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy, but if you actually talked to some of the people, you'd realize everyone is friendly. Overall, great hotel for the price. I've stayed at this hotel twice. Some rooms are better than others. It might be good to look at the room before agreeing on it. Kitchen is great to have. Fireplace is lovely but causes a draft.

Pleasant staff, clean room, good breakfast. Recommend highly.

I really liked the concept of Apartments being turned into Hotel rooms. I was only staying one night and I would definately stay here again, if I was in town. I'm now looking for more of these places, as I travel a lot.They have pot and pans dishwasher full size refrigerator, flat screen TV. My room had a couch and a queen size bed. I was very satisfied with my stay at Hawthorne Suites. The services were wonderful, the room was fantastic and the breakfast they offered was way more than I expected. I will definitely stay there again!!

Hotel was clean and staff was very nice. Very nice stay for the price

My room was spotless, but showing signs of wear. The access road to get to the hotel was very hard to find - I drove past it three times before finding my way. Overall, I was pleased with the room and the hotel.

Our stay was very pleasant. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a great selection. Room was clean and comfortable but could use some updating. Value for the room was terrific.

I've stayed in worse places for more money. Though the hotel was clearly worn and outdated, I wouldn't call it "rundown." At first glance, the room was clean, especially the kitchen and bathroom. It was the carpet that made me squeamish, as there were piles of dirt in the corners and lots of stains and blemishes. Behind the bedside table, when I tried […] to find a plug to charge my phone, there was a register cover off the wall and lots of debris on the floor around it, like it had fallen off and no one had bothered to put it back or clean up the debris. I didn't have the nerve to look under the beds, as I felt I would find dust rabbits instead of dust bunnies. There were lots of scuffs on the walls. I would have given the place a four instead of a three - especially for the low-cost of the room - if there'd been more attention to detail in the cleaning beyond the first glance. The place didn't smell bad at all, the heat worked great. The plumbing was a little suspect as the tub wouldn't drain and there's clearly been an issue on which repairs have been attempted. The bed was very comfy, the linens were clean and fresh, and the pillows were plentiful - eight of them between two beds, love it! - so all in all it was an ok place for a quck sleep and shower. I felt perfectly safe in the area as a woman travelling alone, and I checked in very late. The breakfast was plentiful and welcome, and the very few staff I did encounter were friendly. Читати далі

needed to have a later departure time and the staff was very accomodating

I appreciated the value of this hotel. The fireplace was lovely, but the furniture didn't really fit the space well. So nice to have a full kitchen. All appliances worked and were clean. There was mold in the bathtub in the creases of the vinyl surround, which I would not have seen if I had not taken a bath. It's clear that there have been some water […] leaks from upstairs in the bathroom--the repairs were crappy. The fabrics of the carpet and couch were scratchy and uncomfortable. It sure looked better on the computer, We were not happy with the room it needed updated. Carpet was ripped bathroom very small.

It was not the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The entire hotel is non smoking, but my sheets had 3 (that I saw) round cigarette burns. It was dusty with a musty odor. Staff was nice. This hotel was absolutely horrible. I was swayed by the fact that it is owned by Wyndom, which I've stayed at very nice properties of theirs in the past, and the semi good reviews it received. However this hotel was in a run down part of Columbus with no good restaurants within a 20 minute drive. The rooms were dirty with scratch marks on the doors […] and walls from the pets they allow there. There were bars of soap left in the shower from previous guests and the dishes looked like they had not been cleaned in some time. The beds felt to have broken springs and the pillows were practically flat. Not to mention the linens were stained and there was only a sheet and one other blanket that was the same thickness as the sheet. From the moment I walked in I could not wait to check out. The cheap price tag was not worth it. Spend the extra money and stay at one of the larger hotels closer to downtown. Читати далі

Room was dirty. There was a blood stain on that wall. Two explosions in the parking lot that could have been a gunshoor fireworks. I slept with my gun on the nightstand. On the bright side there were plenty of strip bars nearby. !!??

Great hotel good rates for rooms one of best hotel stuff I been around

Nice place to stay. It could use some maintainance in spots but over all was clean and quiet. Would stay there again and would recommend it to friends. Good room for the money.

Hotel was fairly easy to attain from highway. Check-in was quick. Condition of the room was a little less than desierable. Run down. Certainly needs a facelift. But we were in and out quickly so it was ok for the price. Breakfast was good, nice selection.

My stay at the Hawthorne Suites was a great and convient experience. The location was close to three separate freeways making access to the entire city of Columbus,Ohio very easily accessible.
