My weekend stay was a wonderful experience. The hotel was really nice, very clean and everyone there was very courteous (even the security guard was great with giving us directions). The only con was being right beside of the Greyhound Bus Station, the hotel area is fenced but we were always cautious being all girls!! We visited Columbus to see a show at the Palace Theater and it worked out perfectly, The hotel shuttle provided transportation to and from the theater. We pretty much assumed a continental breakfast would be included since that seems to be the norm these days. WRONG, breakfast was on us. Nice location close to where we were going I will be back again!!

Upon arrival took minutes to get my wife and I taken care of. Amenities were well worth the price, and location was close to all area attractions! Very satisfied overall with everything!

The room was great- clean and well-laid out; the customer service was excellent! From the restaurant which served me even as dinner was ending to the pleasant and immediately available courtesy van to the front desk where the woman on duty solved my surprise problems- and even found packing tape for me, it was the best experience I've had at a hotel […] in a long time. The room was a bit bizarre in layout. Huge space with couch pushed next to bed and tv on very far wall. Large room space and VERY small bathroom. Unfortunate the heater had to run ALL the time as the auto function of the fan was not functional. Overall staff was efficient and helpful. Meal in restaurant was a great ribeye!

Have to wonder if this was the same hotel that I read all the positive reviews about. Had a two day seminar in downtown Columbus. Upon checking in was told if I wanted to use the hotel parking lot would be $10.00 perday. Very overpriced. No Microwave or Refridgerator in the room. No where to put your luggage except on the floor.We had to go to a different floor for the Ice Machine. Could not get any help loading luggage in car. Very confusing to get in and out of because of all the one way streets. The Hotel charges 10.00 a day to park your car. the hotel was easy to get to, clean rooms and good decore. Great in-house restruant, bar, lounge area, pool and work out room. Very reasonable in price

I picked the Holiday Inn to stay at because of the close proximty to the starting line for the Columbus Marathon. I run this race each year and wanted to be close. The location was excellent. I was very dissapointed that my room was not ready when I arrived at 3:30pm - (I made reservations 9 months in advance) I did not get into my room till almost […] 5pm. I was also dissapointed that there is an extra charge for parking - it seems like this is a way to "hide" cost of my stay. As a marathon participant, it is important that I have breakfast very early (5:30-6am) prior to the race start at 7:30am - there was no breakfats bar or even a continental breakfast/coffee area - I happened to have some fruit - I was very surprised that when I called to confirm my reservation at 1pm the day before - the front desk person had no idea there was even a Marathon event that weekend (The Marathon actually passes righ tby the hotel at the 9 mile mark. I was checking to see if I would have trouble getting out after the Marathon. This hotel was at the right place and right price for my stay. Free (and very friendly) airport shuttle service is a plus. Negative is the front desk folks who seemed rushed and not overly friendly. All the rooms smelled like smoke covered up with fabreeze even though it was nonsmoking. Tried another room and there was the same headache inducing smell.

All staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. The condition of the hotel is a little dated and worn, but our room was clean. The hotel also offers a complimentary airport shuttle, which was an unexpected surprise. It saved us the $30 cab fare back to the airport.

The hotel is in dire need of updating. However, that said the room was accommodating for a quick overnight stay. The bed was firm, yet supportive. The linens were clean, as was the room. The bathroom was quite small, but sufficed during the stay. If I were staying longer than a one, or two days the bathroom would not cut it. this hotel location is good. for a downtown hotel, it is priced great. However my room smelled like mildew and there was a huge wet spot on the rug (possibly where the smell was coming from). The hotel was clean. The bed was very comfortable. My husband and I got the room to see the fireworks downtown. Easy to just walk outside down the street and see the fireworks....the staff was very friendly and the parking was convenient and easy to access. Great Stay...we will be back for the next fireworks, if not sooner.

Food was awful. Bring food or you will be better off starving yourself. Even local McDonalds was the pitts

Super comfy hotel and wonderful staff. AC worked incredibly well and cooled down the room in moments which was lovely cos like all hotel AC units, it was noisy. Shower was strong, beds were comfortable, plenty of space for clothes. Wait staff at the restaurant were very thoughtful and sweet, if not the speediest in the world. Food was basic yet tasty […] and the kitchen was excellent about noting any particular changes you wanted. Two things I would have changed; food vending machines or a small shop if you want a snack, neither of which are in the hotel. Also the housekeeping crew replaces bars of soap every day which struck me as wasteful. It's about a mile from the Convention center and I found that mile an easy walk. There are many buses which go there too once you get to High St so that's an alternative if it's raining too hard, etc. I'm going back next year and will definitely stay at this hotel again. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights during Rock On The Range. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We walked all over downtown Columbus, including up to the Arena District for dinner and drinks. The streets were clean, the landscaping was beautiful, and we always felt safe. Columbus Crew Stadium, where we spent each day at a rock concert, […] is 3.8 miles and about a $12 cab ride. The downside to our hotel stay, however, occured on the first night. When we returned to our room after dinner and walking all over downtown Columbus, all we wanted to do was crash on the bed. But, to our suprise, our room keys no longer worked. We were locked out! A lady passing by in the hallway told us that the hotel had put her and her husband in that room. When she walked in and saw all of our clothes hanging up, she went back down to the front desk to question the placement. They ended up giving the two a different room. My boyfriend and I were pretty freaked out by the thought that the hotel had given acess to two random people into our room full of our belongings. Nothing was offered to us as reconsilliation, so at check out time I recapped the incident to the front desk lady and requested that our $30 bill for 3 nights of parking be comped. She seemed a little unsure about the whole thing, but finally accepted my request. Other than that incident, our entire stay at the Holiday Inn and experience in Columbus was wonderful! Читати далі

I was overall quite disappointed when i arrived. They charge everyone just to park their vehicle on the property. I think that was very degrading. Since the hotel is located in a city, there's really no where else to park so you have to pay them. The hotel room was also way over priced and the price definitely did not match the luxury of the room. Then the next morning when we woke up and went to get their breakfast, they have quite a price on their breakfast as well. For a 3 star hotel, I will be sleeping in my car next time I'm there or even stay in a motel. The hotel room itself was really clean. That's about the only positive thing that I can say about it. Holiday Inn is definitely not even a consideration for future hotel stays. I really hope Hotels.com drops them as a place to stay, I advice strongly to stay as far away as possible from Holiday Inn, with what they charge and what you get, save your money and stay else where. If budget is your primary concern, the Holiday Inn Columbus Downtown Capital Square is a decent enough choice, but check the sheets before you unpack. I pulled back the bedspread and the blanket and found a long brown hair on the sheets, which was rather a turn off. The biggest complaint my husband and I had was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel. We've never stayed at a hotel before that made you pay for parking. They charged $10 per night so thank goodness we were only there one night. The room itself wasn't too bad, nothing fancy. Since we were only there one night, we didn't need fancy.

as far as hotels go this bed was the best i have slept in. Really! i was very satisfied with the friendliness and service as well. we ask for extra hand cream and someone was at our door in minutes. i recommend it highly.
