"Campus Inn near Purdue University - Good Enough!"
The price was right! (cheapest price I found in the area for 2 Queen beds) The location was excellent... (We walked to the campus instead of driving and having to look for parking spots.) We enjoyed dining at the XXX diner and the 9 Brothers Irish Pub, across the street and right next door. The staff was courteous. The mattresses (Serta Perfect Sleepers) […] were in good shape, and we heard no noise from other guests. The shower, toilet, sink and towels were very clean. The air-conditioning, refrigerator, shower, toilet, tv, & internet connection all worked beautifully, and our Non-smoking room truly smelled like it had never been smoked in! Okay, that's why we'll stay there again.... but in all honesty, I have to mention that the paint was peeling off the walls in multiple places, there were cigarette burns in some of the bedding, the bathroom door & shower curtain were filthy, and the ceilings were covered with stains, probably from water leaks. We were also wishing that the pool would have been open, as it was oppressively hot while we were there, but it looked as if it hadn't been functional for quite a while... Overall, we felt that the good points outweighed the bad. As my husband said, it beats camping in tents, and we've been doing that without complaints for years! Читати далі
"Clean Basic Room for a Great Price-Campus Inn WL"
Purdue Grad. Went to stay at the Campus Inn while I paid a nostalgic visit back to campus and for a night of visiting the bars. Great location adjacent to all of the famous campus landmarks and a short WALK back to the room after drinking. Nice clean basic room with new bed, shower and sink. The rest of the furnishings were also in great condition, […] but somewhat dated. Similar to your basic Days Inn room. Outside of the motel was painted and clean.Pool was in disrepair and closed. Office smelled overwhemingly of curry, but room was fresh and clean. Only vending machine type snacks and cheap cereal for the "breakfast." But when you stay there you walk up the street to campus for your amusement. Overall great price, clean fresh basic accomodations and within a very short walk to all of the Purdue fun. "The best place FOR A PRICE."
First of all, take into account the price. Don't look for bath robe and slippers in the room. At least in my case everything was clean, as it could be in quite old hotel. I was in no smoking room, but on the carpet there were couple of old burns from the cigarettes. The TV is old, but doing its job. I was on a business trip in Purdue University for […] a spring break 2011, working with my colleagues. Most of the day I was at the University and was returning only to sleep. Location is just perfect: if you turn over the corner of the hotel, you'll find Nine Irish Brothers Pub, which is by far the best Irish pub I visited in US. If you are not that snobbish foiе gras lover - you will like the food and beer. Atmosphere is just great with frequent live music events. Also there are couple of great plazas around with different places (of different level of price and quality) to eat and relax. Walking distance from the University. "Not great but not bad either"
The hotel could definitely use an update as the rooms are a bit older, but they are clean and functional if you are just looking for a place to sleep at night. The proximity to Purdue's campus really can't be beat for the price.
"Minimal Amenities, Filthy"
The Campus Inn is comprable to a barrack. There is no ironing board the TV is ancient and the internet is both sporadic and slower than dial-up. That is the up side. As for the rooms cleanliness... or lack thereof, when I got out of my shower to dry off, I discovered my "clean" folded towels were filthy and I had long black hair all over myself when […] I dried off. It was disgusting. Then going to bed, I pulled the comforter off the bed to discover sheets riddled with stains. I tried to call the front desk two separate times to get some new sheets and no one answered the phone. Conveniently, they charged my credit card when I got there, not when I left. My complaints were only met with, "Oh, I do apologize Mr. ********. We will look into this to make sure this doesn't happen again. Come stay with us again." "Campus Inn does the job for price and location"
It was a Purdue football home game weekend and we were able to make reservations just a couple days before. Check in was easy and they even let us check in early. What it all comes down to is the location and price. It's one of only 3 hotels on campus and is easily the cheapest and closest to restaurants and bars. Why spend the extra $ just to have […] to mess with parking or a cab in return? Been there and done that...not worth it. I'll be staying here on the rest of my trips to Purdue. Читати далі
