The staff were al very friendly and very helpful with any questions I had about the area. The in hotel restaurants were all very good with excellent food choices. Having the athletic club at my disposal was a huge plus.

There was gum stuck between the pages my guest services book. My "neighbors" were pounding on the door yelling for someone inside at midnight, and didn't stop till I went out and asked them to stop, and there was a mouse on the nightstand. Yes. You read that right. A mouse on the nightstand. When I went down in the morning to let the front desk know […] I was asked if I wanted them to send up and "engineer". I said no, that I was checking out that morning the person pretty much just shrugged and said "Okay". It is unavoidable that there will be things such as this happen in a hotel, however... I expected a little more of an apology. I sent them a private message to let them know that I was upset over my complaint being dismissed and no one even bothered to write back. Читати далі

We were expecting a lot of cold weather so we chose this hotel because of the restaurants within the hotel. The location was excellent and enjoyed the close parking garage. We ate at all 4 restaurants and the service and food was great. Our room had a view of Cook Inlet and that was excellent. Really enjoyed the view. the cook is the nicest hotel in anchorage. by far, it's much nicer than the hilton, marriott, or sheraton. we stay here every year for our anniversary and we love it. the only place that rivals this is the hotel alyeska in girdwood.

First let me explain to you that I am an optimist, generally happy with every opportunity to travel and the experiences associated with same (good as well as those I would not wish to repeat). I want to commend the housekeepers, front door personnel, and valet drivers, as their service was impeccable. Also, the lady at the front desk on the day I arrived […] was so helpful and I hate for her to be lumped into what I am about to describe. I was thoroughly disgusted by the pretentiousness of the front desk staff and guests in this hotel. The purpose of my trip was to welcome my son home from his ten month deployment to Afghanistan. The day he arrived, he walked into the hotel in his military uniform and rather than being thanked for his service it appeared that the guests and front desk staff were appalled by appearance. I am grateful that my elation for his return overpowered my desire to give the onlookers a piece of my mind, as that would have humiliated my son further I am sure. All future returns to this hotel were for the purpose of rest alone, not to enjoy the abundant amenities of the hotel. Arrogance does not equate class in my book, but rather rude and despicable behavior. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Читати далі

Its a very comfortable older hotel in Anchorage, its in a great location. Ventilation is from opening the windows, no problem with that just the traffic noise can intrude at times. Princess cruises house their passengers there so every Tuesday night and Wed morning during the Alaska Cruise season it is chaos.

A beautiful, well-located hotel for the Anchorage area. One suggestion is that the hotel have some vending machines and ice machines on every floor. There were no vending machines in the entire hotel and my wife wanted a soda in the middle of the night but we were out of luck.

Good hotel with a bit of wear and tear in Tower One---not sure if any section has been renovated-As Preferred Hotel memebers we had an early check in at 12pm --very nice surprise and a late checkout. A very spacious suite with two full baths and very reasonable. Breakfast is definitely overpriced at $8 for a box of cereal and $7 for a plain bagel. We love staying at the Captain Cook Hotel when we are in Anchorage. It's within walking distance of many things.

Great stay. The breakfast waffles with strawberries and wiped cream were very tasty. Room and general areas well looked after. If you need transportation to or from the hotel call and they will send a complimentary taxi to pick you up or deliver you to airport or train station.

We were a little anxious that the hotel would not be either comfortable or haveany decent amenities having read other reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor etc. However we were very pleasantly surprised. It is a very large hotel with several cafes restaurants and bars - all of which were good if a little pricy . They have some very nice shops and concessions. […] The staff were extremely helpful and firendly and our rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable. A minus - no air condtioning - which I suppose most of the year is not a problem as it is so cold there! but it was quite warm when we arrived and the rooms were a bit airless and hot to sleep in. (there are fans etc however)The rooms all appear to be suites with living room area and king/queen bedrooms but no sleeper sofa in the living area which was a little odd. They do have rollaway beds upon request though.We booked two junior suits since there were four of us - however they said they did have family suites with 2 bedrooms which would have been cheaper and suited us better, but you have to call them direct on that apparently as they do not advertise them on their website for some reason! In general we really enjoyed our stay there and would certainly stay again if we happened to be in Anchorage! Читати далі

They initially gave us a room that was already occupied. They are heavily used by tour groups which makes it more difficult to get help from the staff.

A big hotel with excellent rooms and facilities. Very good location with superb views of Cook Inlet. Can get busy with cruise ship guests. Would strongly recommend the Crows Nest restaurant on 20th floor for food, service and views.

The hotel is a wonderfully maintained, grand hotel that offers every luxury and convenience. The rooms are large and well decorated, and they have everything a traveler could possibly want, including a fabulous health club.

very nice place and everything was super. This hotel had it all. Downtown was just there and you could go any place you needed to. Very good rooms, food and the personnel.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are friendly, welcoming and go our of their way to help you. When you check in, ask for a room ending in the digits 49 in Tower 2, these rooms have the best views. Fletchers pub in the hotel is great for a quick snack or relaxing drink. Menu choices are good and varied; the risotto dish […] is excellent. A good variety of draught and bottled beers was available and the wine choice was great. The hotel itself is a very nice place to stay. The pub downstairs, Fletcher's, has great food. Our only complaint was a big one to us. The shower had no water pressure and wouldn't drain. There was a line of mildew where the shower wall met the ceiling. The toilet wasn't holding enough water after each flush so there was a lingering smell. Our room […] was amazing, right on the corner, with a good view. I told the front desk that they had a five star room with a cheap motel bathroom. They apologized and offered "to help pay for breakfast". For the price I paid for the room, I would have needed a nice comp to change my mind on our experience - not a discounted breakfast. I had a deluxe sweet with a kingsize bed. The room was tiny. Shower and toilet were right next to each other. Basically for the price you could go somewhere else for cheaper and bigger. The view of inlet was ok. The walls were paper thin you could hear other people. All in all i will not stay there again.

The property was a perfect place to see everything in Anchorage. Some of the areas need a little "spiffing up" Some of the carpeting was showing wear and tear, though were clean. This hotel has allot of hidden costs and is not that great for the price. I have had stayed at better hotels for less money. It is an old hotel but a local landmark is the only draw for this hotel.
