I love staying here because it is where the action is plus free parking!

I couldn't have been happier with the location of the Days Inn Downtown. It was close to all the action. Great restaurants, shopping and the like. I would stay again. The staff was great.

Locations is the best part of this hotel. Within wlaking distance of tons of things. Older hotel so know that going in. If you need a place to slepp and plan on spending your day out this is a great deal. If you are the type to spend a lot of time in your room upgrade to some where else.

First room HVAC unit did not control temperature at all. Second room dirty, outdated, and shower did not safely control temperature... look out. Exceptionally hot water is followed by ice cold. Also tub did not drain... very, very slowly.... so.. if you know what to expect for the low room rate compared to other hotels in area, location is perfect to […] see the city. Читати далі

It's really about the location of this hotel. Right in the middle of everything, free parking (which is very rare in Charleston). Not the nicest or newest room, but it works for the location and price.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Was able to walk anywhere in Charleston's historic district from this hotel. This hotel is located only a block away from King Street, where you can find a lot of nice stores and restaurants.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the last 30 years. We actually don't believe it has been remodeled during that period of time. We stayed in room 215 in November 2011. The hotel had a musty/mildew odor. We had to park across the street in a parking garage. Not a safe neighborhood.

The shower had mildew on the tiles and the counter by the sink was too small for toiletries. Thea/c was incredibly noisy. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the bathroom. The room does not appear to have been painted recently and the decor was of the garage sale variety. I was on a business trip and I did not have wi-fi nor adequate desk space.

We booked well in advance, but our allocated second floor room was directly opposite the second floor of the multi-storey car park, about 30 ft away. We could not change on the first night (Inn full) and were too busy to bother later. There are no lifts and the Ice machine on our floor was out of order for our four night stay. Days Inn was recommended by the lady I dog sit for. She told me it was in the middle of everything, and I thought it might have been an over statement, BUT WAS I EVER WRONG. Charleston Historic District Days Inn is absolutely in the middle of everything. Just two short blocks to the Market, 4 blocks to great food for lunch and dinner and wonderful shopping. […] Best of all the rstaurant TOAST is attached to the Days Inn and you truly can't get a better breakfast anywhere else (we know because we tried). The hotel is in a great location, but the condition (while not dirty) is poor. I'd have a hard time recommending it. Maybe a one night stay would be ok if you needed this location.

We arrived at 10.30 am at the hotel and were told that we could not check in until 4pm. They were nice enough to give us a parking pass so that we could leave our rental car in the hotel's parking lot. We were able to check in at 3.30 pm. The ladies at the desk were professional but not overly friendly. The room was small but functional, had a 4-cup-coffeemaker, […] microwave and good size refrigerator. Nice toiletries including mouth wash, mending kit and personal care kit. The sink was open to the room while the toilet and bathroom were seperate. It is a good basic hotel and the location makes up for any inconveniences (like the faucet in the bathtub was leaking hot water and could not stop the dripping). I thought I made a reservation for a non-smoking room via Hotels.com. The hotel denied this and put us in a room that smelled awful! I asked for a different room and was told all non-smoking rooms were reserved. I asked for a roll away bed for 1 of 3 nights and was charged for 3. You cannot beat this hotel for location. Beds were comfortable and clean. Desk chair was broken (why didn't maids notice?) but repaired within minutes when maintenance was notified. This was about average for Days Inn except for the location and staff, both very good. Close to the free trolly that gets you any where you want to go. It is easy walking to many of the places you want to go.

The only problem we had with our room was the smell of mildew. Other than that the staff was wonderful the location was perfect and we had a great time.

Where to begin? The grout in our shower was black with mold. While we were at dinner, the toilet began to "run through" and we could not stop it. During the night, the toilet overflowed all over the floor and carpet. We shut the water off at the valve and threw down some towels to absorb some of the water and went back to sleep. Our young, adult children were in the next room and their TV buzzed with a terrible high pitch noice which made watching it impossible. Nasty place, at way too much $$ for a place like that . Stayed here for 1 night and it served its purpose. Convenient location, free parking and right next to Toast-a fantastic breakfast place. Shower ran hot and cold, but the room was clean. Overall good experience.

If you can't afford one of the chic hotels in the downtown Charleston historic district, stay here! The location is in the middle of everything, eliminating the need for a car. My friend and I walked everywhere; to every restaurant we had scoped out before the trip, to the Battery, Waterfront park, shops along King St., and tons of art galleries. The Days Inn Historic District has a great location within walking distance to wonderful restaurants and sites to visit. Staff very friendly. My room was adjacent to a street and noisy. Staff attempted to change my room but the hotel was booked. Good no-frills hotel for the money.

The Days Inn is clearly an old hotel, but is adequate for a one night stay. I stayed here before a cruise and found the hotel to be perfectly situated in the historic area. You can walk to many attractions (including the cruise port) and restaurants. The room did have a slight musty smell but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The desk chair […] was broken and I noticed some peeling paint. I probably would have said something had I been staying more than one night. The front desk staff was very friendly and they gave us a map and showed us how to get to some of the sites we wanted to visit. I probably wouldn't stay here for more than one night though. Our most important consideration was location, since we wanted to explore the Historic District on foot and not worry about driving. The motel is a little old, but clean and comfortable, and perfect for our purposes. I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. My only complaint is that the water from the faucet was warm. I put a cup in the refrigerator to cool it down for drinking, but that froze overnight!

Not a luxury hotel by all measures, but very convenient, you can get a good sleep and staff VERY NICE!

Great location. Friendly staff. Pool was very relaxing after a hectic day. Only concern was the condition of the dresser. The bottom of two drawers were broken creating a problem in opening & closing.

Overall a good stay. Location...great. nice cool room....compensated us for having to park on an off site garage. Convenient place.

Had to leave the room and check out after 2 hours. It was musty and smelly and depressing.

The Days Inn at downtown Charleston SC was right in the heart of everything! The hotel staff was very helpful and efficient. Having a parking space with our room was an added perk. We enjoyed being close enough to the downtown to be able to walk to all we wanted to do. It was the perfect choice for us!

Hotel was even better than we expected. We had no problem parking...check-in was quick...then we were on our way to FUN. Never had to move the car til we were ready to leave. Hotel staff was great. We will stay here again.

Our trip was only 3 days long so this hotel was all we needed. Affordable, clean, in the center of the city and 20 min from the beach. The room had small refrigerator, TV with a lot of free canals, coffee maker, nice shower, excellent room service. I love the location, close to french quarter where you can find good restaurants. For the short trip its […] all you really need, trust me you are not going to use the room for more then a shower and sleep! This hotel turned out to be the best value for our money when looking up accommodation in Charleston's historic district. It was even more affordable that some hotels in North Charleston! The room was clean and comfortable, although I would recommend a second floor room due to the lack of noise cancelling windows and thin walls. When the lot is full, they recommend a parking deck at the first cross street and promise to pay back the daily parking fee of circa USD twenty. This hotel is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. It is usually the cheapest of all hotels in Charleston and a big plus is that parking is free. However, you must be willing to tolerate a lot for the cheap price. First of all, it is a dark, dingy room that is old and not very clean. It looked like they never clean behind the bathroom door […] because there was a build-up of very yucky stuff when you shut the door. The room smelled and the chair looked like something that you would see next to a garbage can on trash day. The worst part was the noise. Two rooms down from us the guests were sitting on the balcony drinking and yelling until 3:00 a.m. We were right across from the office and there was no attempt to quiet them down. They were screaming at each other and even fighting. When I complained the next day the office wondered why I didn't contact them. The office people had to have heard the commotion and I would have wakened my daughter to try to call or leave the room. Why should both of us be up all night. This hotel was in a very central location. Although it didn't look incredibly great from the outside, the rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and helpful. The added benefit of having the hotel just a half a block from the downtown shopping area was icing on the cake.

You've read the other reviews...the hotel itself is so-so, but certainly clean enough. Had problems with a leaking air conditioner that made the rug sopping wet, but management moved us to another room right away. Pool is ok, nothing very exciting. Centrally located in Charleston on Market Street, most of the sights for visitors are in walking distance. While the hotel is on the older side, the management is making a strong effort to keep the facility in good condition. The rooms are clean and of sufficient size. If I have one complaint it was the size and firmness of the pillows. Each double bed had four small, overstuffed pillows. They were very uncomfortable and contributed to a poor night's sleep. This hotel does have a few years on it, but it was perfectly comfortable and suitable for our needs. It is in a wonderful location for all of Charleston's historic downtown sites. I would reccommend it to anyone who isn't a hotel snob!!

needs many updates very dirty bathroom was something to be talk about phone was covered with juice ask to have it clean did't happen no face cloths doors on bathroom did not close so old , The leg was broke off the table had to have it fix, also ck in was 3:00 and was not ready to 4:00 , I don't know what they were doing not cleaning.

The Hotel room floor /carpet was dirty. Air conditioner did not have a dehumidifier, so room was damp and cold, turn the air blower on low and room is warm and damp.
