If you like microbrew, within 20 yards is Shmoltz brewing. Then if you're willing to drive 10 minutes there is Founders Brewery. Also the hotel is nice and close to the airport. 7 minutes.

"Hilton at the Grand Rapids Airport"
I selected this hotel because it provided free parking for our car while we were flying overseas and had a convenient shuttle to and from the airport. The price of the hotel was actually somewhat less than the cost of parking in the airport lot for the same period of time. We arrived back in Grand Rapids at 11:00 pm and the shuttle driver was waiting […] for us outside the baggage claim area. "Weekend Getaway!"
After a long week of hard work it was great to sit back and relax in a quiet clean and tranquil atmosphere. The bed was nice and comfy! There was a conference going on, however, I was provided a room away from the business of the crowds. Though I live in town I still enjoyed a break from the noise of my own life. Will stay again nice break.

"just what you'd expect from a Hilton"
ideal stay for an early morning connection from the airport. Very prompt and reliable shuttle service. The bed in the room was amazingly comfortable.
While I had difficulty with the check-in process due to hotel showing two nights reservation rather than one, the Front Desk Manager I spoke with in the morning was accommodating and rectified the situation. Room and bath were great, though bath a little small.

"Very nice"
Had a very nice stay. Temperature of the room was hard to get set at a comfortable setting - it was either too cold/too hot at the desired temperature throughout the night. Overall nice stay though. Suggestion - use optional restaurants nearby for breakfast ...for the price the food was not what I would have expected.

We were extremely disappointed that the room did not include a refrigerator or microwave. Could have lived with the microwave, but thought fridges were almost a given, especially at a Hilton hotel. "Nice Staff but noisy housekeepers"
The front office staff was really nice. They were helpful and responsive. However, on Sunday morning, the housekeepers started rumbling their noisy carts up and down the halls at around 7am. At least they are honest, though. When my fiance left his shoes behind in the room, they found them and sent them to him.

This hotel was in a very convenient place to all the things we needed on our stay in GR. The bed was SUPER comfortable and the staff was very nice and helpfull. Digital thermostat was nice except our perticular heater was quite noisy when it came on. Pool area was nice but the whirlpool could have been a bit hotter. I think the shower was hotter.

A bit down at the heels for a Hilton. The bar is nice, but our the room was very poorly laid out and there was no hot water in the AM (in January in Michigan- not good). There are better options near the airport.

We stayed on Thanksgiving night - it couldn't have been nicer! Even on a holiday evening, the lounge/bar was open and the bartender was attentive without being overbearing. "Stay away from rooms next to elevators."
Very good hotel service, but don't get a room near an elevator. Walls are way too thin for sleep!
"Airport Hilton - comfortable room and great fool"
The room was spacious and clean with pleasant decor. The bathroom was great and had abundant, soft white towels. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel plus a snack at the bar. The food was great. We especially recommend the prime rib. I'd stay there again often.

Pro: Nice, clean room, comfortable beds, very good experience. Con: When we arrived the room was very damp from the highly hot and humid conditions outside. After contacting nearby housekeeper who changed the sheets, we discovered that only the fan was running and not the air conditioning. We ended up having to turn the heat on to dry the dampness since […] the room was already very cool. It worked and we had a great nights sleep. The Hilton was all that we hoped it would be,never had a bad stay at any Hilton.

Because of a delay in Chicago, I arrived near midnight at the hotel. I had been in touch by phone with two people on the front desk who assured me my reservation would be waiting and that the hotel van would pick me up. I called when I landed and very soon the van did pick me up. Check in was easy and I retired to a very comfortable bed. My stay was […] very enjoyable. One small complaint. "Great Time"
My wife and I received a great rate by going through hotels.com. We were in town for a wedding and our rate was much cheaper than the group rate that was offered to the rest of the wedding guests. The only drawbacks were no ashtrays in a smoking room. The restaurant in the hotel added 20% gratuity for the breakfast buffet. I have no problem tipping […] but 20% for a buffet. Come on. "I want to go back!"
This hotel was awesome. Very luxurious rooms for the price - it appears to have recently undergone a renovation as the interior far exceeds the exterior in appearance. Our room with double beds had a tiled entry way, marble pedestal table, curved shower rod (gives you so much more room!), trendy shelving under the bathroom sink, super comfy beds and […] blankets (no freezing at night here), and lots of pillows on each bed. The pool and hot tub were a great size in addition to being large, warm, and clean. The staff was very courteous and even provided me with a pack-n-play after I had forgotten to bring ours. We stayed in a different city the next night where we paid more for a room and all I could think was that I wished I was back at the Hilton Grand Rapids Airport! "Horrible Experience at the Hilton"
I have stayed at this hotel before and it was fine. However, I will never stay there again. They had the brilliant idea of re-surfacing all of their bathtubs, using a chemical with a noxious smell and equipment with a loud motor. They did this during the night. My husband and I had drifted off to sleep and awoke to a sickening smell and the sound of […] a motor. We called the front desk, and a woman told us about the bathtub resurfacing. She said they had to do it around the clock in order to finish all of the 200-plus rooms. She moved us to a room on a different floor at 1 a.m. Not only was my good night's sleep ruined, I was fearful of the safety of my 80-year-old mother in the next room. She was OK, thankfully, but I had visions of her being overwhelmed by the fumes. They did not refund the cost of our room because I had pre-paid on hotels.com and they said they couldn't compensate us! Unbelievably bad judgment! No more Hilton for me! Читати далі
