The One Washington Circle Hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool. The small fitness center has a weight machine, exercise bike, stair machine, and treadmill.
Rock Creek Park, about a half-mile from the hotel, is a 1,800-acre oasis with hiking and biking trails, a nature center/planetarium, and remnants of Civil War forts. Trail rides are available through the Rock Creek Park Horse Center. The park has 15 soft-surface and 10 hard-surface tennis courts; reservations are generally required.
Hains Point, about three miles from the hotel, offers an 18-hole golf course, a two-tier driving range, and a miniature-golf course that's on the National Register of Historic Places.

"Convenient & comfortable"
This hotel is a block from the Foggy Bottom Metro station and a block from a Whole Foods store. Because it has a full kitchen (micro, refrigerator, sink, stove, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc.) we were able to have breakfast and another meal in the room and be able to afford a really nice restaurant for a meal each day. Nice hotel, conventiently located. They may have been short staffed on the weekend. Maid did not clean room, remove breakfast dishes or bring fresh towels on first day of 3 day stay. This hotel is in a very convenient location with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Metro stop is about a 2 block walk and the White House is about a mile away--also a nice walk. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was old but the furnishings were updated and clean. The room includes a full kitchen with stove, full sized refrigerator, […] and microwave. Appliances were aging but functional. On the down side is the hotels proximity to GW Hospital. "Spacious suite / fantastic location"
The location is great, we could easily walk to Georgetown and the White House. Just two blocks walk to the subway station and on the route of the Circulator Bus. Also close to the GW university hospital which unfortunately brings ambulance siren noise at random times. There are a few good restaurant options around this area, including the bistro at […] the hotel. The Whole Foods market, two blocks away, was a favourite for breakfast. The suite was spacious with a complete kitchen, and a good plan layout. This spaciousness is a true find at this central location, and makes it a very good place to relax. We had a problem with the heating the first evening and were upgraded immediately to a larger suite with a full bathroom and a powder room. The front desk staff are responsive and courteous, the concierges always eager to help, and the cleaning team is excellent, our room was thoroughly cleaned every day. The building is older and would benefit from new carpets and replacement of tired doors, paint, etc. The internet service is not good, intermittent and slow. Heating equipment is a bit noisy. Be prepared to pay $25 per day if you require adding a roll-away bed, this fee seemed excessive. Overall it was a great place to stay, we would stay there again and recommend this hotel to others. "Heart of DC"
We were looking for a nice, central hotel for our first trip to DC and we consider ourselves lucky we found this one. Its location is perfect for walking to Georgetown and to the National Mall, or for taking the Metro farther afield. The room service cheeseburgers were so good we had them twice, but we also used the room's kitchen and fridge during […] our stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the doormen. The free fruit at the entrance was a very nice touch. The room was spacious with a big flat screen TV for resting after a long day of tourism. The only quibble my wife could even think of after a week-long stay was that she didn't like the showerhead in the bathtub (it seemed fine to me). We would stay here again without hesitation. We have stayed at this hotel at least twice in the past. The staff is always polite and helpful. We enjoy being close to the Metro because we never try driving around the city after we arrive. "Strange find"
This hotel has a full kitchen, it is more like a small apartment. My room had a nice balcony. So it was really comfortable, far larger than I needed but when I go to DC with the family I will be staying there. It was reasonably priced and was easily reached from the airport (6 stops on the blue line). "A gem of a hotel in a great location."
I took my son and daughter to DC to visit GW University and chose this hotel for its proximity to the school and Georgetown. Our 1-bedroom suite greatly exceeded my expectations. The kitchen was separate from the living and bedroom area. The hotel used to be an apartment building, and this had the feel of a small apartment rather than a hotel room. […] The kitchen had a microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, sink, cupboard with pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, etc. Since the hotel is within walking distance of a Trader Joes and Whole Foods we could easily shop for some of our food and eat in, saving money. One other noteworthy thing that may sound small but to me pushed this experience over the top in a good way was that instead of the standard hotel room coffee packets for the morning coffee, there was a jar of coffee beans and a coffee grinder to make your own freshly ground coffee. Overall the experience was fantastic, the location great, and you can't beat the space for the money, at least in the 1BR suite. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite w/a kitchen. Room had been updated but carpet was dirty. Also, room was on the first floor and was quite loud. "Great Place and Location"
We enjoyed our stay. The place has been redone since the time I used to visit for meetings 15 years ago. Good in-hotel restaurant and bar. The Metro is just across Washington Circle from the hotel. Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Many rooms are mini-suites with seating area and kitchen. Hotel is clean, staff is friendly and it has the air of luxury, but rooms show some age with somewhat worn carpet and furniture. "AWESOME STAY"
My friends and I attended the 2013 inauguration and we decided to stay at the One Washington Hotel after reading previous reviews. Our first stay and it was wonderful. Close to so many restaurants, sites, and the metro. I would definitely stay here again. It was a hidden jewel. The staff was terrific and the rooms were very nice. Our stay was great. We came to Washington for the president's inauguration. The location was ideal. The hotel was one block from the Metro station which made it easy to get to the national mall. Everything that we needed from restaurants to shops were within a short walk from the hotel. The hotel was much nicer than the photos on the website.The staff […] was most accomodating and the hospitality was exceptional. I would recommend the hotel as an excellent down town location. "Large rooms, Great restaurant"
The building was an apartment building and turned into hotel, the large size of the rooms is very pleasing, you can't find these large rooms in a metropolitan hotel. The cleanliness could be better, the best part was the downstairs Circle Bistro, great food and I recommend it to everyone.
