1. The neighborhood is dead after 6 and the best dining option is, sadly, the hotel bar. The food there is acceptable but gee next time I will stay in downtown Minneapolis. 2. A warning about hotel amenities: there is not much alternative parking so as you budget you should know you'll pay $17/night non-valet; room service is pricey, so the hotel bar […] is a better bet for food; and the fitness room is, as in many similar hotels, poorly thought-out and poorly equipped. We stayed here on our stay to see the WCHA Final Five. We parked the car and didn't need it for the rest of our stay. Walked all over St. Paul. Great location to go across the street to view the river and a great view at night. Stayed on a "no children" floor which was nice for us empty-nesters. Great breakfast buffet also.

The price, name, and location were to make me feel like I was staying at a fancy hotel. My room made me feel like I was staying at a 70s Motor Lodge. Clean, nice staff, but not by any stretch a luxury hotel. The room service was reasonably priced and delicious, though. Thumbs up on that.

Worst stay ever in a Hotel the night manager ruined my stay and my sleep with his ridiculous notions. The room was not worth the price we paid for it, the sleep number bed was broken and horrible to sleep on.... I could go on and on the only good thing was the close location to the Excel Center.

This hotel is beautiful and in a great position to the Xcel Energy Center, however our room was a closet and we could barely move in it. For the money you pay for a room you kind of expect it to be a full size room.

The hotel staff was great and our room's view was AMAZING! My complaint would be the fact that the sleep number beds weren't overly comfortable but still liveable.

Stayed one night at Crowne Plaza and overall the hotel is okay but in need of some updates. Front Desk - I checked in and was given my room key but didn't get any other instruction. It would have been nice if I was directed to where my room was. The free wifi needs a username and password, that info would have been helpful. No info about the restaurants […] in the hotel or the coffee/breakfast bar. I guess i looked like i knew what i was doing and didn't need any of this info. Room - the room was a good size - kind of a weird layout but functional. There was a 'SleepNumber' bed (memory foam mattress that you can adjust) which was not that comfortable. Even though you can adjust, realistically it is like sleeping on a blow up mattress. The remote for the bed worked, but the display was broken so I couldn't see where it was being adjusted to. Batteries were dead in the TV remote (not a big deal) and the water in the bathtub/shower didn't drain quick enough, so after a 5 minute, you were standing in 3 inches of water. Restaurant/Bar - Got dinner at the sports bar attached. Great service and good food - no complaints at all here. Fitness Room - Has 2 treadmills, a stepper, elliptical, and 2 bikes. All functional, but older. The machine weights are very old and beat up. There was a newer set of dumbells (5lbs - 45lbs) but no separate bench to use them. The room is very small, and if there was more than 3 people, it was uncomfortable. Again, overall the hotel is okay with the best staff being in the sports bar. Читати далі

Great location we went to Wild game and were able to walk. Friendly staff. Only down fall was the duct tape all around my window and the broken chair in my room but nothing i cant overlook.

Downtown St Paul was magical on New Years Eve and our room was perfect. We had a full view of the river up stream....it was beautiful.

The hotel was great, the stay was nice, and aside from one speed bump I had no complaints. The front desk attendant double charged me for the room which was a minor inconvenience.

Attended a hockey game so I spent very little time in the hotel. The location was great. Within walking distance of Excel Energy Center and Seventh St. Pubs and restaurants. The bathroom was a little small and oddly arranged. I would stay there again for other events in St. Paul.

In this area of St. Paul, there is not a lot of options. The St Paul Hotel is a more expensive alternative, and it is a little nicer, but the Crowne Plaza is certainly a quality option. Much like every other CP hotel I have stayed in, it is clean and the rooms are plenty spacious. Top notch hotel: from the valet parking to the chocolate on your bed and sheets pulled down! The lavender linen spray for your eye mask at bedtime - beds were sleep number also - excellent!

It took 3 tries to get a satisfactory room. In the first room, the sleep number bed would not deflate, the second room smelled like mold and you could see a leak on the wll. The third room was comfortable enough, but it had not been cleaned. There were crumbs on the side of the bed. We stuck with that one because it was 1am and we needed to sleep! I paid the price for a luxury hotel and it felt like a motel 6, which isn't bad if paid a lesser amount.

Crowne Plazas are beautiful Hotels - this one tops them all.

The location is great. It is very near the river and events are within walking distance. The hotel parking garge ceiling is very low & crowded. Our phone antena scraped the top. The room's carpet is old, soiled, and needs to be replaced. I do not think that it meets typical Crowne Plaza standards, but the location is wonderful! They did not hold our reservation so we had to take a lesser room. The room was not clean. The hotel interior badly needed refurbishing. Can't recommend this at all. Certainly not for the price.

While attending a training in downtown St. Paul I stayed at the Riverfront (Crowne Plaza). I found the hotel to be extremely comfortable and convenient to many of the downtown offices and restaurants. There's plenty variety for you dining choices and if you like to get your exercise afterwards, a walk along the river in early evening is a great way […] to do it. I had a room overlooking the river and enjoyed watch the various boats (and ships) slowly moving past. The Paddlewheelers were especially delightful to watch as I had never seen them before except in movies. Of course, I enjoyed the lounge for a quick drink or small meal virtually anytime. An upper floor corner room with a great view of both city and the river made my stay a delight. The closeness of fine dining locations made a reunions with a loved one even better. The conference I attended at the hotel was managed so well, congratulations! This was my first visit to St. Paul and my experience there will bring me back soon.

Nice hotel, very close to the Xcel Center, which is where we were going. Friendly staff, nice room, although our 2nd floor "balcony" looked over a conference room, which I thought was a little strange.

This hotel charges $17 per day for parking a car--in St Paul for goodness sakes. My room was nice but the 5:00am smoke alarm malfunction was not appreciated. My friend stayed close by at the Residence Inn and his room was just as nice and that hotel provided a full breakfast on a complimentary basis. Stay there.

If it was cheap I would stay there. The rooms are like old relics. The HVAC system was at the ceiling and couldn't keep the room cool. The sleep by number bed didn't work. The room was extremely small. It is not what you would expect from Crown Plaza type establishments.

Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel. The location is perfect and connected to the skyway so you can walk everywhere. There are both dining and a lounge with great service and prices at the hotel. Our largest complaint was the lack of control in the heat - our room was 75 and we had the heat turned OFF. It was miserable however it was late […] and we chose not to bother with trying another room. The only other negative is that you are charged to park in the ramp owned by the hotel - $20 is a lot to charge a paying customer however many hotels do this. We were forced to do vallet because our SUV does not fit in their ramp and they had to take it elsewhere, very inconvienent!! They also charge an additional $10 to keep it past noon the following day if you don't leave right at check out. If the temperature had not been an issue and you did not have to drive anywhere - i would stay again. Читати далі

We chose this hotel due to being close to the Fitzgerald Theater. We were pleased that the walk from the hotel to the theater was reasonable. Our room was welcoming and the view was fabulous. We would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great with the exception of housekeeping vacuuming right outside of our door while we were trying to sleep the next morning. Check out was at noon, but we were woken up quite early.

Well, dont expect help or service, also the free breakfast is not really free and it really just a buffet so service your self. I had to talk to a few people to even ask about my coupon. The room was nice only thing was the garbage had no liners the room view was great That was best part

Staff was very friendly and accomodating! We have been here before and will visit again! We also enjoyed the views of the city, attractions within walking distance, and the Mississippi River.

Great customer service at front desk, bar & shuttle. Lovely and comfortable rooms. Within walking distance to many places. Had a room with a river view and it was fantasic. Will definatly stay here again when going to St. Paul.
