Used to be 5* maybe 15 years ago. Only good - the location. Close to Plaka/Acropolis etc. Wafer thin walls, can hear people next door snoring, flashing toilets etc. Housekeeping start hoovering 8am - not good way/time to get woken up. Cheeky hotel charges 3 euros for simple local bottle of water that cost 20 cents in the shop next door and any other […] 4 star hotel gives for free. Breakfast basic - not worth the extra euros you will pay for it. Much better choices in Athens - dont get misled by the 5* rating and the fancy communal areas - hotel is not a good one if you cant get a good night sleep - especially for the money they charge you. I loved the hotel's location for walking around town; the staff even helped guide us to a mass transit stop that is up the road from the hotel. I look forward to staying at the Royal Olympic Hotel again.

everything was great except the spa area was under reconstructions and we were not notified when we were booking. Otherwise, a good hotel with poor breakfast

Very good hotel. Surprisingly quiet at night for city centre. No music channels on the tv. Internet stopped working after first day.

Lovely view from rooftop restaurant. quiet room, good service except when chamber maid barges in without knocking in spite of "do not distrurb" sign on door... Otherwise excellent.

The hotel is in an excellent location, opposite the Temple of Zeus, 10 mins walk to the Acropolis and 5 mins to Planka. Before we arrived I emailed the hotel as it was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay and they upgraded us plus gave us a free bottle of wine. Breakfast was simple but nice. was excellent service lovely breakfast beautiful hotel, but the room didn't have enough plug sockets, sockets were hanging out of the wall, really expensive drinks, bad view from window and balcony, apart from that, excellent location in centre of athens and close to metro.

The hotel was ok overall but our room smelled like sewer every time we came in the room. We asked for a king or queen size bed and they gave us a room with two twin beds put together. It was uncomfortable because it created a bump in the middle. The tub was narrow at the bottom making it hard to stand balanced while taking a shower. The hair dryer didn't […] work. Breakfast can be included with your room, but we don't recommend it. Choices were limited. If you wanted to purchase breakfast separately, you paid 20 euro per person - not worth it! Despite being excellently located near to the Plaka and Acropolis, this hotel is the worst I've ever stayed using Expedia. Even though I know it is only the number of features a hotel has for it to gain a particular star rating, when trhe staff have to apologise for a "management decision" to turn off the airconditioning because they deemed it was cool […] enough not to be needed, you sort of question how this place retains a 5 star rating. The only way we could cool the room was to open the open the balcony doors and then be bombarded by traffic noise!!!! In our particular room, the furnishings and the bathroom fittings were very tired and the ceiling paintwork stained which was in complete contradiction to the very good impression you get when we walked into the front foyer which is very elegant and stylish. As another reviewer wrote the rooftop breakfast buffet food was "not hot" but the staff were prepared to take it away and put it in a conventional oven to heat it up because there were reportedly no microwave oven in the hotel. For me to spend the time to write this review when my wife and I consider ourselves pretty tolerant travellers just goes to show how disappointing an impression this hotel left us with. Читати далі

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with panoramic views of the acropolis and Athens. Central location so walkable to the Acropolis, Plaka, Parliament etc.

Great hotel! Got upgraded as we were travelling in November and there were not so many tourists. The hotel room was fantastic, the view great, expecially from the rooftop bar/restaurant. Only one point not very optimal is the sport facility, which was outside the hotel, around the corner and quite hidden. Other than that very helpful personal.

Great location and very nice hotel. Was with my 10 year old son who ran around a bit but they didn't seem to mind too much. Breakfast buffett was great but dinner overpriced...

The hotel is very good kept,the views are phantastic(if you got one facing the Acropoli)the staff most of them very pleasents,but the internat connection are very poor>the staff try to help but i beilive theat the problem is the upgrade of the existing system. The restuarnt and the breakfast are excelnet and again the superb view!!

Was definitely not 5 star. The "hot" breakfast was always cold and not very nice. Staff were lovely and helpful. Room service and restaurant was closed for 2 days due to staff strike which made the visit difficult as you could not get any food in the hotel. Quality and service of the food was very disappointing.

Reception staff very friendl, helpfu and informativel. The most wonderful views from the roof terrace both day and night. The hotel is perfect for site seeing, most sights are in walking distance of the hotel. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and was a perfect location for two days pre cruise. We would stay again.

Room was very spacious with a very modern bathroom and nice furnishings however there is traffic noise and it required us to keep the window closed. There was air condtioning. This hotel is perfectly located to see the ancient sites in Athens. You can walk to everything. The king sized bed turned out to be two twins pushed together under a single headboard. The restaurant is very expensive. The food is ok, but you pay for the view.

Royal Olympic has all that an up market traveller would need. Service is excellent. Location could not be better for seeing the main archaeological sites. We only had one night at the Royal Olympic but would stay again in a heartbeat. Beautiful room overlooking the ruins that could be seen lying in bed. Gorgeous, spacious marble bath. Reasonable cost and amazing rooftop restaurant with magnificent views!

I loved this hotel. I did have the Athenian Panorama room which was just beautiful.The view from my room was the Temple of Zeus. The staff were always accommodating and assisted with our every request. I cannot fault this hotel and will be staying here every time I am in Athens. We had the Panorama View and it was beautiful!! The room was excellent. Sadly, we were not impressed by the lack of courtesy shown by the breakfast staff. They were unsmiling and unhelpful. Please o not believe the photographs on the website, the hotel is not an iota of those. Rooms are small and basic, hotel is not ad grand as the photographs show. The best thing about the hotel is the location.

We wanted a hotel close to the Acropolis,this one sounded perfect.We chose the delux double room with breakfast,however we got a small twin room in the corner of the hotel,the balcony had two tatty chairs on it and the view was a wall to the right and in front, to the left you could barley see the pool, below was the roof to another part of the hotel […] and it connected to the wall in front.The room was very dark and a very old decor, it wan't cleaned properly for a 5* hotel, I found 3 other persons hair in the bathroom which makes me think what else did they miss. The water ran from hot to cold and was never at a comfortable temperature. We wanted to have a romantic meal in the restaurant which looks right at the Acropolis, we went to see the maitre'd to make a reservation who seemed very happy to help until he asked our room #,we told him and then asked to have the view, his attitude seemed to change and his response was 'it depends on how many other bookings we have tonight', which is not right comming from the maitre'd, he should know, but he wrote our request and reservation on a piece of paper, not in a book, he gave us the impression he didn't care about us as soon as we told him our room # I guess he consisdered it as the 'cheap one',so didn't care about giving us the 5* treatment. We deided not eat there because of him. We did have breakfast there and the view was fantastic. The parking had a fee of only 15Euro,pay at checkout.You have to pay extra if you want internet. Great lobby, great location, and great rooftop view. It is walking distance to all major Athen's sites and the metro/bus station. However, the front desk/concierge service was unappealing. They were not helpful when it came to ask for directions. Also, the pool closed too early for a summer night.

The hotel was a five star hotel at a three star price. The lobby is grand, the pool was fabulous after a day of walking aroung Athens. The beds are comfortable. And everything is clean. The top floor dinning area and bar is absolutely amazing with it's view of the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. The pool area was also a nice place to cool off and simply unwind. Friendly and helpful staff.

Wonderful experience. Our room overlooked the temple of Zeus. We got an upgraded room and the room we had was more of a suite and was very large. Staff was very helpful and attentive and I would not hesitate to recommend it

My room was in the main part of the hotel that overlooked the pool. The room I had was nice. The staff was very helpful and the pool is nice. Once you walked around the city for a day, the hotel is a short walk to the city tour bus stop, metro, attractions, as well as shopping and dining.
