It was an ok hotel, but I reserved a King size bed however when I showed up they had rented out all the King rooms and gave me a room with doubles in it. When I asked they told me they couldn't do anything and I was out of luck. The staff didn't really care about anything I had to say about it. "One night was too much."
Dirty room, I needed to clean dust and dirt off bathroom counter. Heat did not work at all. Toilet ran intermittently and loudly all night long. All in all a very unrestful night in a loud dirty room.

"Wonderful time, despite the hotel"
When we arrived the power was going to be off for several hours. That was fine as it was not dark yet, and we did not need electric at that time. It came back on at 8pm. Next morning no hot water until around 11am, way to late for showers before some people had to check out! Made the choice to continue to stay there as it was the central location for […] why we went and everyone was staying there! The only thing that made it a good stay was the others that were staying at the hotel. Keys constantly needed to be recoded and having to make several trips to the front desk to get this done took way to much time! Breakfast was much better then I expected after reading reviews. "Clarion Hotel- on the Edge"
Visiting our student at the University of Michigan and this hotel is not a family crowd. Very rough looking clientele and several 'ladies' that could pass for women of the night. Dirty dishes in back lobby left over from previous night and a large clothes dryer sitting in the middle of the lobby.

Just needed a place to stay for the night before the football game. Nice for the price. Shuttle took us to the stadium and back to hotel.

Very polite staff. Should think about opening resturant eariier. Comfortable beds. Room clean except the bathroom could have been cleaner. Wake up call on time. We would stay again.
"Clarion Ann Arbor - terrible condition"
This is the worst hotel in Ann Arbor I have ever stayed in. Many things were broken, the room temperature could not be controlled, the workout equipment mostly broken, the pool water was green, the hall carpets filthy, and on and on. This hotel needs a serious makeover. I would not stay here again.

"Do not stay here"
Aside from the rude concierge, we had booked a king room a month in advance and were told they had given all the rooms away. "Oh well", we were told. "They overbooked." Aside from a horrible start, our second morning we were awoken to screaming kids at 7 a.m. that were jumping and screaming in the pool. This was never tended to by adults or the hotel. "If you must..."
I went to Ann Arbor to visit a friend so I knew I wouldn't be spending much time in the hotel. Really just needed a place to sleep. The Clarion employees were very nice and helpful. My biggest complaints are the stale smell of the room and the fact that you really can't open the curtains in your room b/c they open onto a hallway, not a window. The room was stuffy, the air bad and hot. The air conditioner did not work.

It was a nice hotel for the price. The pool and spa were first rate and we had a nice time.
"just plain weird...."
The hotel was dark and gloomy , with the pool right behind the lobby. It had been converted from a motel wich explained alot. Spiders ,big webs, bugs that looked like roaches not cool , my fiancee woke up with the bottom of her foot bleeding. The hotel was fairly rundown on the inside. The rooms weren't the cleanest, all of the items in the fitness room were in some form of disrepair and the staff was luke warm at best. There are other options in town, I recommend you look into them.
I would like to know why I was charged for four people in our room when my husband wasnt with us and I tild them at the desk. He had someone come to install windows in our home. Was dissappointd because no game room, broken exercise equiptment, no where to eat in hotel
"hotel close to all area where we needed to be"
hotel pool area was nice, however due to recent storm damage, no ice in machines, no phone service in rooms. first room they put us in was sub standards, no air, they quickly made a change new room very good, cleaner, clean, very good. all amenities listed. very quiet over all nice place. would stay again. Hot in halls due to storm damage

"Recent visit to Clarion in Ann Arbor"
The room in this hotel was great. Very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great with both hot and cold offerings. I was very dissatisfied with the Wifi availability and the quality of the Business Center. We could not get Wifi in our room and when I went down to the lobby, I got a very weak signal and was unable to do the work online that I needed […] to do. The business center computer connections were somewhat better but the keyboards did not work correctly and the computer was not connected to the printer. "Its not the ritz but it will do"
It wasn't the nicest or the best hotel out there but for the price it was fine. It would have been nice if they had offered a shuttle service to local places around the area. But again it served its purpose.

Excellent fresh hot/cold breakfast. Direct access to freeway; shopping in close vicinity. All staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definately stay again on next trip.

Room is nice and convenient to use microwave and refrigerator. But, bathroom condition is really bad. Old, cracks in seal. Other than that, everything else is very nice.

"Second Stay"
This was our second stay with this hotel booked by Hotels.com. The accomodations were much nicer for our stay during the Thanksgiving holiday, 2010. This time our room was much smaller and the entrance to the room was from the parking lot. We had our two dogs with us both times. Taking the dogs out at night felt safer the first time when I was able […] to walk through the building to a lit area to walk them. Room was adequate although run down. AC and heat didn't work. Needs updating. I understand is under new management and will be redone this year. Conveient to downtown Ann Arbor and U of M
"Highway noise"
This hotel has a convenient but very noisy location (right by the highway). We arrived very late so didn't want to go back to the lobby to ask them for a room change. The noise doesn't bother me specifically but my husband could not sleep all night. The rooms are clean, but the hotel is quite outdated. Pool and gym closes at 9 and doesn't open until […] 9 or 10 am in the morning so don't expect to use those facilities if you're arriving late or leaving early. Still, we paid a decent price for a two-double bed room. If you're not bothered by the potential noise and don't expect to use the hotel facilities it's a decent enough hotel to stay. Читати далі
"The Clarion Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan"
I would not choose to stay at this hotel again. The rooms were old and not very clean feeling. The hallways were damp and humid from the pool being down the hall. There was a vent above the door and space below the door that let in light from the hallway...all night long. Also, the bed/mattress was not very comfortable. Another nail in the coffin was […] the service I received at the front desk while attempting to check in. The hotel clerk appeared occupied on the computer/with paperwork so I stood a couple of feet back. He looked up, made eye contact acknowledging my presence and indicated he would be with me in a moment. Then another women walked right up in front of me to the desk. When the hotel clerk was ready he looked at both of us as if he didn't know what to do. The other woman stated she was there to retrieve a coat left there by a friend. I knew that he knew I was the next in line but he began to help her instead. What I didn't realize was that Clarion triaged their front desk rather than first come first serve. "Clarion in Ann Arbor"
Overall good. Great complementary breakfast. The hot tub and pool are located in the center of all the rooms, so that everyone's balcony overlooks them. Kind of weird.

"Woops, Management FAIL"
The hotel manager is incompetant. There were NO ROOM KEYS. We had to leave our rooms unlocked/propped open or we had to lock ourselves out of our rooms because their key card machine was out of order! We reserved 4 rooms together and they were unable to give us 4 rooms together.

"RUN DOWN & NO HEAT"
Checking in was a nightmare with a wait time of approximately an hour, no apologies!!! No heat in first room 11 pm after checking 10 other rooms and still no heat was told they was cutting back but would get a discount if I stayed. I was very tired had drove long drive and worked long hours and just wanted to lay down and sleep. At check out management […] said wasn't aware of what I was speaking about and that didn't take place I must have not known how to work the heaters in the room! I stay in rooms almost 1/2 of the month I've not found the hotel room heaters to be of any difficulty to use. BEWARE of this hotel it's in great need of upgrades not including heaters! I never write reviews most stays may have minor details that can be overlooked but NO heat and being made out as a liar can NOT be overlooked... Читати далі
"Clean, Good Location, Not in the Best Condition"
They have two types of rooms, the old & the slightly newer. The old rm was small and extremely hot. We asked about the temperature of the room and were told that the air was turned off (fall season). I believe that they received many complaints because they did eventually turn it back on for that wing of the bldg. We requested another room and the staff […] was pleasant and very helpful. We moved to a room in the newer part of the bldg, which was more spacious and nicer. Its apparent that they are really trying to keep the place up, but even in the newer wing our bathroom door knob needed repair. The microwave/frig were clean and new. In their favor, they do keep the hotel very very clean. The cont. breakfast was well stocked and the area was clean. It's really in a good location. I would recommend to those that stay that they request to stay on the 3rd or 4th floor because the rooms are better and the windows open for extra ventilation if needed. Again, the staff was very nice and I feel for the owners because you can tell that they are really trying to keep the place up but perhaps, with the state of the economy, enought income isn't available to do so. "Unfortunate Experience"
Upon checking into this hotel, everything appeared to be in order. However, when I reached my room, the door was open, leaving me a little uncomfortable about the security of the room. Later that evening, I returned from a business meeting to find the room quite warm. The air conditioner was not working, and after giving my best effort to be flexible […] and not worry about the temperature of the room, I requested a new room. The receptionist's nonverbal cues led me to believe that there were no rooms available. He then asked if it would make a difference if he provided me with a fan. I responded that it was my expectation that a room be fully operational for what they were charging, including air conditioning. He then found a new room. I am unsure why this was not the first solution. Overall, the condition of the room was below average and typical of a hotel that charges half of what they charged me. The key cards frequently did not work in the hotel entrances and required 8-10 attempts in my room door before working. The lobby appeared unorganized with luggage carts blocking hallways and tables partially prepared for what seemed like a wedding reception the night before. The rooms reek of cigarette smoke. Pool closed inexplicably for long periods of time. Staff completely clueless about anything. Avoid this place !
