Contrary to the other reviews, that I have read about Shadowbrook, we had a marvelous experience. If you are going into your trip that you are going to the Waldorf Astoria, you will be very disappointed. If you are going into your trip wanting a quaint, nostalgic resort nestled in the mountains with activities and tranquility of days gone by, you will […] have an amazing time. While there, we played a round of golf and attended a wedding. They are in the process of updating rooms. We were in an older room, that had not yet been updated, but it was clean and comfortable. The bride to be had a renovated room and it was also clean and comfortable. Both had flat screen tvs and refrigerators and microwaves. The only complaint that I had was the bathroom was very small... but then again, since the sink was outside of it, it wasn't an issue. I got to the hotel after 11 so I had to ring the front desk to be let in. The lady at the desk was nice...but after I went out to move my car and get my bags I had to be let into the building again. I understand the point but it does make things complicated. The room itself was pretty good, though there was a musty smell to the room like it hadnt been […] used in a while. While the place was not dirty it was also not kept up. Everything was really old and needed a fresh coat of paint. But if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night like I was, it wasn't bad. Though it wouldn't be my first choice of a place to stay. Читати далі

To much noise sounds like a heard of cattle on second floor.Very outdated would never stay again unless price is at least half what they charged. Had problems checking in and out. People need more training on computer. This was one of my worst experiences ever and I have traveled to many places to list on this site.

We are staying here right now...We just had to go get sheets to make our own bed because room service is once a day (8:30 am - ish) and if you miss that you are out of luck. BTW the sheets provided at 11:30 pm to make our bed were not the correct size, contacted the front desk twice and still do not have the correct sheets but made do with what we had. […] Now lets describe the accommodations: The hand towels looked like they were recycled from the 70's -dingy, worn, and not customized for adults; antiquated light fixtures; center window handle broke and window does not shut- left unsecured; no doors on closet - no hangers; doors on bath room sink are made from peg board (the stuff you hang tools on in the garage); the sink and shower show years of use without upkeep; air conditioner has only one speed and that is high; one little bar of soap, the main door has damage (appears to be a fist) and is not custom fit to the door frame therefore you can see about 1 1/2 inches under the door into the hallway; Despite the above list of terrible items - they are a few surprises of modern amenities - nice flat screen TV, mini refrig that is actually cold, a microwave that looks useable, a one cup coffee maker, hot water, a unconcealed safe, and finally (although we didn't golf) the course appeared to look ok. For best service - do not refuse room service if they knock at any hour!!! If you do you will be on a treasure hunt for clean linens and more towels. Читати далі

on my initial approach i was underwhelmed by this 'resort'. not nasty but for sure not worth the amount i paid. think motel 6 with a golf coarse. the first this that hit me was the smell in the halls. smelled kinda like a homeless drunk's shoes. only way to describe is old cigarettes, moth balls, sweat and shame. the room was outdated. the towels were […] threadbare and rough like a cat's tongue. the shower was unkept with visible mold on the edges. staff was there. not nice, not rude. just there. unfriendly staff, room only cleaned once during a four night stay, only care about construction workers, very disappointed considering we have had family in the area since the 1950's.

The rooms were a nice size but the upkeep on the cabinets, flooring, furniture, etc was disappointing over all.

It is an Ok motel and clean. Sometimes a little noisy of it appeared to have some gas field workers staying there.

Shadowbrook is awesome. It was a good experience for a couple. The room was very clean ad the shower was nice and hot. Overall, if you havent gone and you will be in the area then go! enjoy your time with you significant other. <3 Bowling, golf, bar, and hotel all in one!!! must see

We did not like our stay here at all. It is way too old, and the walls are paper thin, very nosy, room doors stick and slam. No , we will not be making any more stays at this resort! We had a very long night and was so glad to leave there.

I have to be honest b/c that is what these reviews are for. The girls that worked there were absolutely sweet and nice. However, at the front desk, they did not "look" professional. A few had wet hair and just appeared unkept. For a place with the name "Resort" you need to look professional. The certainly were professional in their actions and were […] friendly, but appeareance is a lot. The front desk is like your bussiness card. It should display the image you want to portray. Also, the spa at the pool had jets but no hot water, it was the same temp as the pool. That is the first time I have ever seen anything like that. My children had a great time. I understand that the lodge was just recently purchased by another company and I look forward to seeing some positive changes. Thank you though for being very nice and accommodating! Читати далі

I had heard a lot of bad things about the Shadow Brook prior to my visit, but I thought I would take my chances because it is 30 minutes closer to my destination than any other hotel. Other than having a bed and shower this is not much of a hotel. The lobby smelled horrible, the pillows smell bad, and the blinds are nearly transparent (the lights around […] the pool shine right in). Worst of all, there were hairs from many different body parts on both the sheets and the pillow cases. We have stayed here several times. The beds were more comfortable than previous, but the overall maintenance of the facility appears dated. The room humidity was very uncomfortable even with the air conditioners on. Sheets felt wet.
