Typical of a big hotel, but affordable. The room was huge, and very comfortable. Everything was clean. No free wifi, and the paid version was relatively expensive. Nice location for the MNAC and mountain, but not so good for the center. It is not very far from metro stations, about 10 minute walk, so not so bad.

Superb hotel, complete with indoor pool and gym. So comfortable and located ideally for our needs. The hotel is just out of the CBD, allowing a non tourist locality, that gives you the feeling of being part of the soul of Barcelona. The local Patiserre across the road was amazing. This was perfect for us! The room was huge, especially by Euro standards. Breakfast buffet was worth the price. Staff was friendly. Location was terrific.

Hotel is aimed at business travellers, so great if someone else is picking up the tab. For tourists - great for everything apart from costs. 25mins walk to the Ramblas sea front, 5 mins to the Mont Juic fountain and the Tourist bus stop.5 mins to the new shopping and restaurant centre in the old bull ring. Hotel has great facilities - but is quiet as most people eat and drink out - 19 euro for one beer and one rum/coke in the bar. Front desk ok but could be a bit friendlier - generally efficient tho - so not a great issue. For a day out take the train down to Sitges - a lovely sea side town about 30 mins by train or car. Our stay at the Fira Palace was great. We ran into many language barriers in the city and the staff at the hotel helped us with every problem we ran into whether it was faxing documents or ordering pizza at 1am. The room was huge, quiet - and the location was great.

I loved this hotel especially after staying in a timeshare (with a very hard bed) in the Canary Islands the week before. Hotel Fira Palace is located near many great places for sight-seeing, transportation, restaurants, shopping. We love to walk so it was quite easy for us to walk a few blocks or take transportation to see as much as we possibly could […] during our stay. The hotel seems to cater more to business and conferences because there is not much to do in the hotel itself and the restaurants in the hotel are pricey. There also was no entertainment even though there was a piano bar, but we found we could easily walk to places that were much more affordable and entertaining. I loved the room. The bed was very comfortable and felt heavenly -- especially after where we stayed the week before. My husband's only complaint was that the hotel seemed very sterile and not very friendly, but I really liked the comfort of the room and the area. Restaurant and piano bar staff were very good. I was surprised that reception/registration staff were not very welcoming- I would say they were almost snooty in their behavior. When we asked questions about Barcelona they were very curt and did not bother to volunteer any information. Stayed in 2 hotels while in Barcelona (2 days prior to cruise, 2 days post-cruise). This was our 2nd hotel and was a great value. I don't know if we got some kind of sale, but the room was very reasonably priced and was very large. The bathroom was lavish, separate living room, and large bed. The hotel was easily found by the cab driver so it must be well known, I'm guessing it is a stay for many business class people. Friendly service at check in and unexpected bonus of free coffee at seven am when we got off our cruise ship without breakfast Free wi-fi was wonderful. Excellent hotel, close to great museum great signtings of city from top of the hill, short walk to hop on and off bus. We were upgraded so had a fantastic room, stayed at many hotels on our trip this was definately the best. very well priced too.

The Fira Palace is a very lovely modern hotel with large rooms, including a seating area and desk....it has EVERY emenity one could desire, including 2 large lobby areas, $$ exchange, restaurant, swimming pool, you name it! The only drawback was that there's not a lot of real close restaurants in the immediate area, so a 4-6 block walk is necessary, […] but the close proxity to the Magic Fountain, Espania stations, Arena shopping center, etc, makes up for it. Clean hotel with pool. Located within walking distance of The Olympic Stadium, Place d'Espanya, and the Art Museum. There is a pretty awesome fountain show at night at the Art Museum. All of the front desk staff at the hotel speak English very well. They have a place to store your luggage if you get in before check-in time. We waited long before having our room: We reserved 2 months before arriving and when we arrived at 13:00, we waited till 15:30 before having our room ready. We were tired after a long trip and found that it was too long. Besides this problem, everything was perfect. The location of this hotel is perfect too.

Quiet side street location close to public transportation at Placa Espanya. Large rooms, spacious bathrooms and very clean. Only negative would be that our beds were too hard. Would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Nice hotel located near to sights, resturants and transit systems. Breakfast and dinner not cheap, but good. Bar prices are probably the reason for lack of activity. All around a good experience.

I would just like to say how BEAUTIFUL the city of Barcelona is! I am bringing my family back next year! This was a lovely hotel. It was a great location: a 10 min walk from the Grand Plaza where the Aerobus(a bus that runs from the airport into the city) let me off for far, far less than what my Mom spent on a taxi from the airport and it took only […] 20-30 min. The hotel is a 5 min(at most) walk from La Parallel(spelling?) street where you can grab the Metro or a bus to anywhere in the city and there were nice little places to eat along that street also. In addition there was a Schlecker's-the local drugstore- nearby where you could purchase anything you may have forgotten to pack. My sister complained that the beds were a bit uncomfortable, while they were a bit hard, they were fine to me. I didn't spend much time in them anyway-there was too much to see in Barcelona! The rooms were quite large and the bathroom was lovely with your choice of a nice sized shower OR a decent sized tub. We did not take advantage of the pool or the work-out facilities, but they looked nice! The staff was very helpful in telling you how to get to places nearby. Room was very large, comfortable and extremely clean. Bathroom had a walk in shower and a separate bathtub. Staff very friendly and helpful with information on getting around and what to see. Hotel close to metro and buses. Walking distance from Plaza Espanya and the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc (must see.)

Shoddy internet service, some rude staff, uncomfortable and flimsy beds. If you like more personal service, don't stay here. If you want a convenient and large hotel, stay here. Right next to Fira fountains. Great display at night.

The hotel itself was nice, but the initial welcoming was horrible! When my husband and I got to the hotel at 11 a.m. the man behind the desk never smiled or welcomed us to Barcelona. He said we couldn't check in yet, no rooms available. Check out is at noon! We had no where to go and had jet lag from the flight. He could have said to us to go have a […] seat in the lobby and as soon as a room comes available he will get us!!! We actually told him that we would just sit and wait. I saw several people come in and check in and wondered what was going on! So I went back to the counter and said are you checking in people and he said he had a room now! I was extremely upset! Then to make matters worse, we had left our luggage in the side room to hold until a room was available and when we told the bell boy to bring our luggage up to the room (which he had given us a ticket to go with the luggage) he brought the wrong luggage to our room!! The Hotel was very clean and the rooms were much bigger than we expected. We have 5 people in our family, so we booked 2 rooms. The only complaint from our children were the matresses were very hard. The location was close to the National Museum with the beautiful Musical Fountains! We were happy with our stay at the Fira Palace.

It was very nice stay for 5 nights! Service was great! The only down side was that hotel does not provide free internet access for more that 30 min.

The hotel has been situated in an area in which you feel safe even late at night. It's very close to Espanya Station to travel to locations to see Gaudi's work and all the famous places to be at your visit in Barcelona. Stayed at the Fira Palace Hotel for 1 night. I was travelling alone with my 6 yr old son & the hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was huge with 2 double beds and a sofa bed. The beds were on the firm side but we both had a good nights sleep as not disturbed by noise from other rooms. Bathroom well equiped and spotless. Stayed there more than 15 years ago and still feel is a great deal for your money. Easy access to verything without being too centric or noisy. Would stay there again and again. Very quiet and pleasant, very good help. Rooms are large and comfortable.

Good hotell in convienient location, beds a little hard.

Nice clean hotel. Beds were a bit hard. Only complaint is the lady at the gym was grumpy and tried to rush out of the pool early.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay. We arrived early morning after a trans-Atlantic flight expecting to wait till 3 before we got our room. The moment the front office staff saw that we were a family with an infant, they went out of ther way to get us our room right away. The location is awesome - walking distance to MNAC and thr Spanish Village […] and to PL Espqnya which is qn attraction by itself but also a great connecting hub. Barcelona is a really vibrant city and we wish we had stayed longer. A lot if that was because of our great stay qt Fira Palace. We were surprised at this price to find such a well run, clean and modern hotel. Room was large and well appointed, free internet and super buffet breakfast at a good price. Walking distance to the hop-on-hop-off bus route. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I travelled from the US to this hotel for a conference and had a very mixed experience. The conference facitlities, food and service were exceptional. Great hotel with large rooms that can accomodate a family. Good location with a few restaurants within walking distance, but suggest you try the hotel restaurant for dinner -great food at a great price! Reception staff really nice and helpful, the only issue is that is a long wait to store your luggage; all other transactions went really smooth. 30 […] minutes a day internet is great, and if you need more time just use the PC at the lobby -which are rarely used, so you have lots more time on-line. Nice hotel for the money but not in walking distance of the waterfront and restaurants, however the hotel restaurant offers attractive décor a great menu at affordable prices with pleasant attentative wait staff.
