The transportation to this motel is very convenient by just using the courtesy phone in the LAX airport when we arrived. The motel itself is nice and decent and worth its price. I was afraid that the noise of airplanes would be disturbing. Happily it was not. The continental breakfast and the restaurant are not bad either.

Visited Shelter in May 2010, the rooms are big and clean, in a reasonable price. The room is simple in a stylish way, quite comfortable. King size bed is good, you can get a good sleep there. It is in the Korean Town, located in the city. Location is quite convenient. Hotel provides free parking space at ground floor. The staff is friendly. It's a good place to stay in LA.

Located in high class beautiful Beverly Hill area. Walking distance to Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hill residential area. Very convenient and quiet. A small hotel with no lift or elevator to go upstairs, so have to carry luggage to the second floor. The staff are very helpful and nice. Facilities are basic but neat. Breakfast is basic. A little bit expensive but the location worths it. It is quite good as a last stop to relax and walk around, or to drive to anywhere. Bus stops are available outside the hotel going to Santa Monica or Hollywood area too.

Don't be fooled by the brand "Sheraton"--it's not. But if you can somehow sign up on the Internet to get a deal 60% of the real Sheraton, I wouldn't complain. it's close to the airport, with a nice shuttle service to LAX, but you have to be content with the Burger King nearby, because that is not only eating place within walking distance. I had dinner, and breakfast, and mostly the time i had the place to myself. Otherwise you need to shell pout 16 bucks for breakfast.

The hotel is GREAT ! From the lobby, the front desk, all the way to the room, everything is more than fine. Me and my wife are very impressed and we hope would have stayed longer -- we got there at 11:30PM and stayed for only one night. Gotta come to stay if we hit the city again.

"marina del rey inn"
they first put us in a 2-bedded room. while they could not immediately switch us to the king-bed room we had signed up for, the next morning they upgraded us to a fabulous room with a gorgeous view. so all in all we were well satisfied.

If you want water and harbor views, this hotel is great. It has been around awhile so some of the fixtures, paint, showers, etc are pretty dated and in need of upgrades. The only problem if there was one was that our patio was very accessible to the road and people walking by and they were able to look right into our room. The lock on the patio door was broken so we were concerned at night. The staff was fantastic and very accomodating, offering us another room, but we did not want to give up the view. We stayed 3 nights, and were very pleased. Easy location to get to, good parking, pleasant staff. Has been well maintained. It's a bargain for the area. Absolutely would stay again.

Our arrival in L.A. had a confidential time in this hotel. First of all, it is situated in a nice place: Marina del Rey. Our room had a view over the marina and the weather was fine. I was disappointed. I thought it would be better. The hotel needs a renovation. Plus you can here footsteps from the room above you. I would not recommend.

ROOMS OLD VIEW OF OCEAN BLOCKED BY UNKEPT TREES. FLOORS OVER HEAD SQUEAKED .NO ONE OFFERS TO ASSIST W/LUGGAGE. TELEVSION NO CABLE BED LOOKED VERY UNDRESSED POOR DECOR

This hotel hasn't been updated since it was built and it looks like it was built over 50 years ago. The rooms smell horrible and the bathrooms are a joke. They have cracked tiles everywhere, horrible shower heads and it's just plain dirty!

I'm always annoyed by hotels that save money by putting the bathroom sink out in the open so that if one gets up at night, the light disturbs anyone else in the room. "OK in a pinch as Santa Monica Hotels are $$$$$"
This hotel needs a serious OVERHAUL. The water pressure and temperature in the shower constantly change. The carpets EVERYWHERE are buckling from wear. The parking lot is a LOOOONG walk with bags... but honestly, the biggest downers for me were: pool but no hot tub, quality coffee in the dining area - Santa Barbara Coffee Roasters - but only Nestle's […] Coffee Mate (really, NO 1/2 & 1/2!) to cream it. We were abte to bring out two dogs and enjoyed every minute there....we will certainly stay there again. Excellent food service, and food. We loved it.

"Old, run down, expensive, and dirty"
what more should I say, we left after the first day because we did not want to stay there one day more. We ordered one of the better rooms with a sea view, still the room was run down and dirty. do not stay here, it is not worth the money and every motel at the airport is in a better shape.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and the winter rate made it quite affordable. The room was beautiful as was the hotel itself and location. My husband and I enjoy walking and there were plenty of beautiful sites to see along the way and at the harbor itself. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!
"Not so good"
Peeling wallpaper. Stains on drapes and carpet. Out of date elevator permits. Looks like this was a great place in the 50's, but the owners are doing nothing to keep it up, and it's pretty gross. Avoid.

I used to arrange my bag before i go out the room and i know what is on it. I went out and ask them to arrange my room when i came back every thing was fine except a new perfume was Taken from my bag !!! Still try to see what i can do to get my perfume back !!! The hotel is good and in perfect location i will go back

OMG - they put me on the 2nd floor with someone above me who, when they walked, caused the floor to squeak and it kept me up the entire evening. There was barely anyone in the hotel, but they put us in a room with no view except the giant awning out front. Asked if we could switch rooms they did in fact give us a nicer room. View of marina was much better. The hotel is in a great location for our needs and parking seems safe. The hotel has seen better days, the first room smelled of mold and […] the windows wouldnt open and the room was in poor condition. The second room was in better condition, but old and run down. "Marina Del Rey Hotel"
This hotel has great potential, but needs a big inflow of cash to fix it up and reburbish it. The overall feeling was "tired" and dated. Even the restaurant lacked energy, good service and attention to detail. It's the best priced hotel in Marina Del Rey located on the water, but there's a reason for that.

The location is lovely but the hotel needs a bit of renovation. The room itself was nice and comfy even if a bit shabby. The bathroom was from the 1950 and the shower was a dribble! And when there is no mini-bar in the room, I find it strange that the bar of the hotel closes at 11:00 on a Friday evening????
