i have a disabled wife we was put on the 3rd floor with no lift , so going up and down the stairs was very hard work

Having stayed in the Comfort Inn last year and not being overly impressed with the shabby room I was very pleased t find that the room I had this time had obviously had some t.l.c.! For the price and the cinvenience, and a good breakfast couldnt beat it. Will again be recommending it to my friends and any one travelling from B'ham Intl.

This hotel is extremely convenient for New St Station; unfortunately we drove! The traffic in central Birmingham that Friday night at 7.30pm was almost gridlocked and our satnav couldn't cope with the complicated road system. The hotel has a very generous deal with a nearby car park which persuaded us to use the car but we would recommend the train! The […] man on reception was extremely helpful once we located the hotel - the taxi drivers were less happy about my waiting outside! The room was clean and comfortable though the hotel needs upgrading and its location means noisy nights. Breakfast was not ready at 8am as promised but soon appeared and was fresh and generous but the coffee was undrinkable. The location was excellent for restaurants, shopping and for our conference at Aston University, a pleasant walk down Corporation St. away. Читати далі

This is a low 3 star class hotel right next door to Birmingham New St station, Bullring shopping area. The Hotel building is older and so the room was smallish and a bit quirky. There was very little noise from inside the hotel or out on the street during the night and I stayed on a Friday, on the 1st floor! I did only stay here for 1 night because […] I wanted a quick exit to the train station for a NEC/ LG arena event the following morning. This hotel may well lack the smarter interior/furnishings than other places but the room was clean, curtains closed, windows could just about be opened (secondary double glazing), bathroom ware seemed new & clean. TV worked, had a kettle, hair-dryer, coffee, tea & biscuits etc Did not have food or drink here at all so cannot comment on this. I would recommend this place if you want a budget hotel for 1 or 2 nights. Perhaps not the best place to go if you want a little more luxury, space or a couple weekend away (unless you are happy to put up with the above). Читати далі

I've just spent two nights at this hotel and I am satisfied overall. Somebody told that if you don't judge a book by it's cover, this hotel should be great... and it was. It seems quite old, it isn't recently decorated, but with a small amount of money I had everything I needed and even more: a comfortable and clean place, small, but practical, with […] nice staff... and also very, very close to the city center. The Comfort Inn in Birmingham, a case of don’t judge the book by the cover. Comfortable as the name suggests with warm rooms, in sub zero outdoor temperatures. I almost did not book this hotel due to a less than impressive picture of the building exterior. Walk across the street and climb some stairs and you have instant access to the main city railway […] station, New Street, which is directly connected to two major shopping centres, The Mall Pallasades and The Bullring. This is a major advantage in bad weather as there is practically no exposure to the elements. The hotel is within a short walking distance of many other fine shops. It is an ideal location for College graduations etc. as there is a direct rail link to University of Birmingham and Birmingham International Airport from nearby New Street Railway Station. We did not check out the night-time entertainment but there is a cinema within walking distance and the main clubbing area is not far away. We had limited contact with hotel staff but they were reasonably friendly and helpful when needed. There is a lift to upper and basement floors so it should be suitable for disabled access. Internet is available in the lobby. No frills in the rooms but they are clean, warm and adequate. T.V. could be better tuned for easy access to the main British stations. We had feared that there would be noise from the trains at night but this was not the case. The bar area is spacious, and the layout gives rise to many quiet corners. Seems to be geared towards T.V. football matches and there is a big screen. Football was off due to snow during our midweek visit so there were no noisy fans. The Dining Room was a little cold, probably due to frost and snow outside. The Full English breakfast was adequate but a little expensive. I would be happy to go back to the Comfort Inn and would recommend it to others. Читати далі

Het is een prima basis hotel. Ondanks dat ik te vroeg bij het hotel was, kon ik toch vast inchecken en mijn kamer in. Het hotel is gedateerd jaren '70 ingericht, maar voldoet aan alle voorzieningen en wordt wel duidelijk onderhouden. Met name de lift is erg gedateerd, maar dat geeft het ook charme. De lift is 2personen breed en zeker wanneer je met […] koffers binnenkomt is de lift erg krap. De liftdeur naar de receptie moet met de hand worden geopend en gesloten, de liftdeuren naar de etages worden automatisch geopend en gesloten. Wanneer je hoger dan de 2e verdieping verblijft is het zeker aan te raden deze lift toch te gebruiken, want het zijn lange trappen. De kamer is simpel maar voldoet aan alle basisvoorzieningen. Ik verblijf graag in de stad Birmingham. Met Bullring, station New Street en de Mailbox op loopafstand is de locatie van dit hotel prima. Aan de achterzijde van het hotel zijn wat uitgaansgelegenheden (stripclub, bars) waardoor het 's nachts nog wel wat rumoerig kan zijn als je een kamer aan deze zijde hebt. Momenteel wordt er hard gewerkt aan het station New Street (voorzijde hotel), waardoor het hotel tijdelijk minder goed bereikbaar is (voorheen kon je via een trappetje rechtstreeks van het station naar dit hotel, nu moet je een klein stukje omlopen). Maar van de werkzaamheden heb je weinig last, deze gingen in het weekend gewoon door - maar brachten geen geluidsoverlast aan mijn verblijf. Читати далі
