Mercure White Hart Salisbury - Солсбері

Stayed only one night in Salisbury but found the hotel very pleasant where we had the tastiest dinner of the whole week. Only minus was for the room, due to a noisy A/C (outside window) and a noisy fan in the bathroom.

The Mercure White Hart is conveniently located just at the edge of the main city centre in Salisbury, so perfect for shopping, visiting the cathedral, eating out etc. the hotel provides parking which although there is a public car park close by, makes a real difference. The hotel was well presented, the rooms and communal areas were clean. I will say […] that I had a very good night's sleep, small things like that the heating was easily adjustable and that I was able to open the window to get fresh air made a difference. Also, the double room we had, had a lovely big bed, American style which was very comfortable. We didn't dine at the hotel so I can't comment on that. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, I noticed that a few customers had errors on their bills where they had prepaid and this hadnt registered but the efficient staff fixed this immediately. Overall, I would say a convenient and efficient stay in a beautiful town. There was no real wow factor with this hotel but everything was perfectly adequate and in order and I have no complaints. Excellent location, warm and cozy hotel during freezing February with very friendly yet professional staff. Great value parking on site £5 per night. Set in very historical part of Salisbury - 2mins walk the the Cathedral close.

A post Christmas stay for a couple of nights at The White Hart was pleasant rather than spectacular. I booked via expedia and made the fundamental mistake of assuming that a 4* hotel would have a lift. Arrived to find no lift in and we were on the first floor. My wife had a stroke in 2011 and struggled up the stairs but the room allocated was at the […] end of a long corridor. Hotel changed us to one near the staircase but this had the unfortunate position of being very close to the party area where on the second night the Salisbury Taxi Drivers were holding their annual Christmas party. Very noisy till 12.30 . Staff were very pleasant and special mention of Sarah, our waitress on the second evening when we were the only couple eating in the restaurant is justified as she was warm, charming and witty. Hotel charged £5 per night to park and this is obviously a must as my wife cannot walk long distances but we did get a disabled space both nights. Room was a bit pokey and the toilet was so close to the wall I could not use it being a big chap, very embarrasing. Meals in the hotel (2 breakfasts, 1 dinner) were pleasant and what one would hope with a 4* hotel. Overall the stay was nice but not spectacular. Читати далі

We had a problem with the heating in our room, which was promptly looked at by the maintenance man. When it was obvious by the next morning that the problem still existed our room was upgraded at no cost to us. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Excellent sized room at the end of a quiet corridor. Hotel conveniently located in the centre of Salisbury. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The only downside was a very rude older woman that we only encountered on reception on check-in, who exclaimed in an indignant voice when we arrived in reception at 1pm: "You know your room's not ready yet. It's […] still dirty." She could have been pleasant, smiled and said, "Your room will be ready at 2pm". We were quite happy to drop our bags at reception & go exploring in the meantime. Very cute hotel in super central location. Walking distance to Salisbury Cathedral and shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. My room was spotless, and most of all very quiet - which is often hard to find in older, more stately buildings. The only drawback was the lack of water pressure in the shower. Water saving devices don't save water if it takes twice as long to rinse one's shampoo lather.

Do not expect a good nights sleep, the creaky floorboards within the hotel are a nightmare and the staff live in a world where they say 'it is an old hotel'. To my mind its not fit for guests. One of the requirements of any hotel is to provide the basis for a good nights sleep, this fails miserably

Firstly let me say, I do stay here alot. I stayed recently on a Sunday night and had a room on the front of the building. The room was nice if a little small but ok for one. (it was a superior room, a little small for 2 i feel) Room was very clean, though the TV system was a but clunky abd archaic. The hotel was pretty empty but I had to get reception […] to find a barman after hanging round for 20mins to get a drink and bar meal. Which to be fair, were both great once they arrived. Room was very noisy from 0630 when the traffic began building, which wasn't very much fun. Breakfast was very disappointing. Coffee excellent, but the hot items in the buffet had obviously been there some considerable time, soggy hash browns, rubbery eggs etc. really good sausage though. I suspect it was a function of being empty, but refreshing the produce may have been nice. Overall it's ok, convenient for business in the Salisbury area. Not sure I'd stay here for leisure. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The location was ideal and the car parking excellent. You could even leave your car in the car park after you had checked out in order to spend some time in Salisbury. A really well thought out idea. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Stained carpets in reception with old fashioned, shabby furniture. Shabby, dark room which was noisy and too warm all night - no AC. Bed extremely uncomfortable. Receptionist very rude on two ocassions (one was nice). Breakfast OK. No free wifi. Save your money and give this one a miss.

You have to pay for the wifi and carry your own bags up the stairs (no lift - no help). The location is great though. It felt a little like "Quality Inn" or "Clarion" if you're familiar with those chains in the US. The staff wasn't overly helpful but they were ok.

Met my sister in Salisbury for a Christmas shopping weekend and chose the White Hart as it was well reviewed, within easy reach of the shops and had its own car park which was convenient. First impressions were that the back of the hotel comprised a flat roofed 60's style block in need of re-painting. Reception was well sign-posted though the carpets […] were marked and dirty on the ground floor though cleaner elsewhere. Our room was on the first floor - no lift and a long way from the stairs. The room was clean, warm and quiet, over-looking the car park at the rear of the hotel. Despite Christmas parties each night, we were unaware of any noise. There were sufficient towels and complimentary toiletries were available. The shower over the bath worked well. Tea and coffee making facilities were available, though we could have done with more tea bags and more milk. Extra milk was provided on request. The twin beds were comfortable and an extra blanket was available if needed though we were both warm enough. The receptionists were helpful when we asked directions to local shops. There was a welcoming log fire in the lounge. We decided to have breakfast elsewhere each day as we only wanted a light snack, and would not have justified the fee for the full breakfast. Although we were only there for one night we had a great experience. The staff were friendly, the room was comfy and clean, the location was perfect and very central and would certainly stay there again. Breakfast in the morning was delicious also!
