Came over for a weekend trip. There was confusion regarding my reservation. They would not check me in unless I actually provided a paper confirmation #, even though my reservation was in their computer system. I asked them to call the booking company, but they refused. Fortunately I had my IPad with me and was able to pull the confirm # up. They looked […] at it, said ok and I was then able to get my room. Only one person was working the front desk, had long waits for assistance. Wanted to rent a car for the day, but the rental agent did not show up until 5:15 PM. I was told she would be there between 1 and 2. I didn't get the car until the next morning because I didn't want to pay for a day that was about to end. If you want to dive, there is a dive shop next to the hotel, but beware, they are not open on Saturday for dive trips. That is their staff training day. Probably the only dive shop in the Carribean that is closed on Saturday. I am not young in age by any stretch of the imagination, but I would say 98% of the people there were retired couples on a 7 day all inclusive plan. In all fairness, the hotel and the grounds were clean, but you could tell the hotel was operating on a shoestring budget as many things on the premises were out of service, needed painting, or were just in poor condition. As previously mentioned, staffing was at minimum as well.The rooms had 220v and 120v connections, but the 120v connection did not work in my room. I told the front desk, but the problem was never corrected. The hotel is close to the airport, but isn't within walking distance to the main areas around St. Georges. You definitely need a car to get around. On my next visit to Grenada, I will stay somewhere else. There are just better places to stay. Читати далі

I booked two twin beds and got 1 king. Hotel claimed they could not adjust because housekeeping had gone home. That was not a good answer.

AC in room didn't work well. Internet was.not.available. looked at the other plcaes that seemed nicer and less.expensive.

We got a warm welcome at the hotel and the stay was good.

My daughter attends school in Grenada and this resort was recommended to us by one of the staff members. All in all the resort is fairly good. About the best bang for your buck. Make sure you use the all enclusive option or it can really be expensive. I gather that the Rex used to be a great hotel but it certainly isn't any more. Most staff members are friendly, I suspect the problems stem from poor management of sufficient funds to run the place well. A lot of maintenance work needs to be done and an updating of the technological system of the hotel. THE HOTEL HAS A LARGE ACREAGE . TRANSPORT BETWEEN FACILITIES FOR GUESTS WITH LIMITED MOBILITY IS A PROBLEM. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO STAIRWAYS. THE ICE MACHINES WERE NOT WORKING.LOVELY BEACH CHEERFUL STAFF.

A beautiful place to stay. There is a litle of everything for everyone. It is my favourite hotel in Grenada. It is also the closest hotel to the Airport.

I really liked this place. The room was fine (although the bed was old), the ocean was just 50 or 70 feet from the terrace, the grounds were beautiful, the pool was magnificent, the two beaches were fine (the smaller beach on the far side of the pool was best), the wait-staff was VERY friendly, competent and helpful. However, the food was, at best, […] mediocre (the desserts were wonderful though). I was worried about noise from the airport being so close (about a 10 - 15 minute walk), but it was really not an issue at all. There are so very few planes taking off it is not a problem. There are probably not more than five per day, so you don't even notice it, and are certainly not bothered by it. The front desk staff was plesasant, but not exceptionally helpful. Called about missing remote for the TV (thus making it inoperable), and it took 2 days to replace it. Called asking how to adjust the AC, and was told to unplug it when it got too cold, and replug it in when it got too hot! The punchline to that story was that there is actually a REMOTE CONTROL for the heat and AC, which is a fantastic system. You don't need to get out of bed to adjust it! Problem is, it is in a holder mounted on the wall above and to the side of the AC unit, behind the curtains. If you don't know to look for it, you won't find it. The front-desk staff was completely unaware of this, resulting in the "unplug it if you get too cold" advice. A bathroom window broken the first day remained broken the entire stay. Only other comment: the live entertainment was a bit tired. The 3-piece band playing alot of Bob Marley and Calypso was nice, and was great for people in their 50's and up, but was a little tame for anyone younger. Also, they stopped playing at about 10:30. The place would benefit from a touch better live entertainment. It is a destination resort without a lot to do at night. I stayed at this hotel for business, and it was just OK. I would not stay here if I had to pay for it myself! The food is nothing special. Breakfast is especially of poor quality. We stayed at the Rex 4 nights and are very happy with it. Our room is right next to the beach. We were there to see our daughter at SGU. Eventhough, the hotel is middle of no where, you can take at the bus at front gate. Or you can call for a taxi. The hotel was large and clean and beautifully landscaped, but unfortunately extremely let down by the quality of food served. We were on an all inclusive package and got a bargain price through Hotels.com, so weren't exactly expecting gourmet food, but even we were shocked by the standard of food served. All meals served were buffet style which was […] fine, but it would have been nice to have an option to upgrade to an A la carte menu (the only a la carte restuarant on site was closed when we stayed) The buffet food itself was awful and inedible at most times - school dinners were better than this! The house wine was also undrinkable and no other choice given to pay for anything nicer. The staff were polite but I wouldn't go as far as friendly, and one bar lady was actually quite rude as we deigned to ask for a drink at 5.45pm when the bar closed at 6pm! The receptionist however was very friendly and moved us to another room when the footballers next door woke us up at 6am. We're not normally moaners (or reveiwers for that matter) but if all you're looking for is a cheap bar and nice beach, but no expectations of nice food, then this is the place for you! Читати далі

The people are wonderful. That is the #1 attraction For the elderly ( 85 and 73 yrs.) There are too many stairs to climb. Food was not outstanding. Would recommend to young people on limited budget.

Rex is a large property with pools and 2 beaches. Great place for kids as they have a few activities for them. I was on business so didnt have the time to really enjoy but I would definitely stay again. The rooms are a little dated and in need a bit of updating. This was the second time i stayed at this hotel since i usually state my complaint and check for management concern. The flies around the Tea area continue to be a happy bunch of hotel guests!..The shower in the room allowed us just enough standing room only...one could barely turn around in the shower. I subsequently to Grenada and stayed elsewhere. […] The only asset at REX is the kitchen staff, dining staff who are quite courteous and helpful. I do like the location but the beach is also of no real value. regret my feelings but they are real and sincere. i would give REX another try some day. Читати далі

Friendly and considerate staff, good food, lovely private beach and overall found nothing wanting as it provided a good base from which to explore the Island and I just wanted to relax when in the hotel. Found a really good gift shop within the grounds too late, as I'd already spent all my dollars.

The location was great however, we ended up changing rooms 4 times. The refrigerator in the 1st room did not work, the air conditioner in the next two rooms did not work. The exercise equipment was not working correctly in the workout room and the room was not air conditioned. There was light bulbs burned out thoughout the building, including the stage […] where the muscian played. The bands were very good and the staff was friendly. We had to print out the price from hotels.com using the hotel's slow Internet PC on their internal network printer before we got the key to our room. The room was on the second floor in a building about 150 yards away - with no elevator. So the porter had to lug our luggage - and we ended up helping him. The room was clean and we got a great ocean view […] room from our balcony instead of the hill view we had booked. Everyone was friendly and we liked the free coffee to hang out at the hotel. On departure day at 6am, the manager had to help with our luggage as the porters start to work at 9am - not great with three parties wanting to leave, plus it was raining to make things a bit more hectic. The local buses don't usually go to this hotel and there is an extra charge to go/leave from there (EC$10 per person). Also, it costs US$10 with the taxi to go ONE mile to the airport. I can't justify spending over $100 for this room, but the rate on hotel.com was less and reasonable for this type hotel. Читати далі

Kassaskåpet på rummet fungerade inte och åtgärdades inte. Delvis otrevlig och oinformerad personal i receptionen. Småsnål inställning. Ringer inte upp taxi till hotellet om de har mobiltelefon, vilket de alltid har. Aldrig stött på något liknande. Kopnstigt managment uppenbarligen. Omgivningarna lite slitna men rustas gradvis upp. Besvärliga fåglar […] i den öppna matsalen, obehagligt faktiuskt. Åtgärdas inte. Hotellet har fint läge vid stranden och vid flygplatsen. Very nice staff. Hotel situation very convenient, close to the airport but never noticed any noise. Breakfast not extraordinary, worst pancakes I ever had. Wifi connexion very weak from the rooms. Rooms clean but comfort is so/so. Very nice beach and swimming pool When I was there (may) the hotel was empty, so was easier to enjoy...
