The stay at Hotel Belleclaire was nice, the rooms was small. but cozy. the only complaint i have about the hotel itself was about the construction as it made the lobby area very small and eliminated the lounge areas as well as made the stairways a bit confusing as some were closed off after a certain floor. once the renovation is complete the hotel […] will be a nice place to vist and stay. The room was clean comfortable and in a good location

Perfect location. Nice staff. Under construction - (noisy after 9am on Saturday). Will be much better choice when this is done. Room was clean but floor needed to be swept and clock did not work. Overall a bit too expensive even for NYC considering the current negatives. Serafina Resturaunt across the street was wonderful.

Friendly, convenient for Upper West Side and Broadway. Coping well with renovations!

We were immediately welcome with a free upgrade to a larger room. The room was tidy, the bathroom was clean, we did have a closet, a mini fridge, bath/shower, etc.. Everything worked well and water pressure was phenomenal! TV Reception & quality was the best we've had in a hotel. Period. The lobby was under construction but was not a problem. The […] elevators have recently been redecorated and working quickly and quietly during our 2 night stay. Carpeting throughout the hallways was brand new. It is an old building so the hallways are narrow, but are brightly lit and non-threatening. The hotel was quiet with the exception of claninging pipes - I can only assume this has to do with the construction. The room was warm, but not oppressive. Ice machine & vending machine both worked well, and the guest lounge area had plenty of free coffee and many flavours of tea with ready to go disposable travel cups. Subway stop was about 2 blocks away, and parking is available at a nearby rental car chain with a discount for guests staying at the hotel. I was really pleased with the location; convenient to the 1 train and walking distance to lots of great shops and restaurants. Excellent location for visitors to the West Side We had a spacious room called the "Broadway" with multiple windows on the Broadway side. The room was clean and much larger than comparable West Side hotels, the bathroom small but very adequate. the staff were accommodating and friendly. The service at this hotel was impeccable! Absolutely great. The concierge was always available and gave us great recommendations and service. The rooms were small but very clean. We didn't mind the size since we didn't spend much time in our room. It was really close to the subway line, which made it easy to get around. It's in a relatively quieter […] neighbourhood and thus was less busy and that's exactly what we were looking for, but still really close to all the sights. What an exquisite boutique hotel and great price point on Hotels.com. It would be nice to know before you book when a hotel is under construction. The lobby of this hotel was no lobby, it was a construction zone. A extra room had been turned into a makeshift lounge, but it was a bit of a joke. A hotel must have common spaces to be comfortable. Rooms too hot. Great option if you want to be on the Upper West Side. Only issue was that the lobby was in the midst of reconstruction and seemed a bit disorganized.

The staff was really nice and accommodating, but the hotel itself is old. It has lots of charm if you like those kinds of places (but I don't, unfortunately). The room was small, and with old windows right on a busy street it was very loud all night. It was not as clean or comfortable as I expected. Great location, though.

The hotel was under extensive renovation; with dust everywhere. We had plastic sheeting on the floors near our room and downstairs the lobby area was a major staging area for the project. Nice and clean hotel in the center of Manhattan (NYC). Very attentive, accommodating and excellent customer service.

The Hotel Belleclaire was a comfortable and nice enough place for a night. We booked a room with two double beds (they were full sized, not queen). We rolled into town and found the staff extremely helpful - doorman saved us on street parking right across the street and staff was friendly and welcoming when checking in. The room was not a big as we […] expected (300 sq ft might be a bit of a stretch) - however, there was free wifi, three windows with GREAT views of the river, and a mini fridge. Bathroom, linens and towels were very clean. For the same price we could have stayed more downtown because there are always deals but since we drove in, this was an easy on and off Hudson Parkway. The elevators were really small and the "lobby" was under construction so it made entering and exiting kind of cramped. But again, these seemed like small inconveniences. Didn't use but checked out fitness center - very clean and surprisingly big; and guest "lounge" - basically two adjoining rooms with couches and a tv, just ok I would say. I might have gone in there for a coffee but would not have stayed in there to read or wait for my fellow travelers to get ready. I don't know if it is set up like that as a result of the construction or if it is the intention to have the lounge be like a closed off sitting room. The surrounding neighborhood is really fun and nice. Lots of great shopping and subway is two blocks away. There is also a range of restaurants from pizza joints to seafood places, coffee shops and a pastry boutique boasting the world's best cream puffs (they WERE pretty good!)... So, all in all, I don't necessarily feel I got a super deal in price but I feel quite satisfied with the value. We got hit over the head with a third person fee which felt a little ridiculous for a double double-bed room (I can see for a fifth person but surely two double beds in a room is priced with the expectation of up to four). Hotel staff was very nice and hotel was clean, however our room located on the street side of the building was very noisy from neighborhood construction. The AC unit in the window was boxed in by thin pieces of wood which did not provide any sound proofing. Made for a terrible night''s sleep.

I first stayed in this hotel 18 years ago. Back then it was a run down dump - but I fell in love with the local area. Nearly 20 years later the hotel has had a major overhaul, and is still working on improvements (there is a temporary lobby at present). The area is still fantastic - easy access to the 1,2,3 and A,C,E lines, walking distance to mid town, […] Lincoln Centre & Central Park, plus the comforts of a family friendly residential area. Totally dissapointed in this hotel, It is not what you are lead to expect by the website. dingy door entrance to a tiny reception area. No restaraunt, No room service, No bar. Basically a "nice" hostel, a bed for the night. The rooms are tiny. You would be better booking into a Holiday Inn Express. This is a one star hotel at best

when i booked hotel it was not mentioned that the hotel was currently under renovations. Hotel had no lobby nor did it have a bar. Had to go to a tiny room on first floor to get coffee which was never hot and served with a container of milk that was at room temperature. when I advised the desk about having cold fresh milk made available for coffee, […] they looked at me as if I had three heads. had to search the surrounding neighborhood for coffee. lovely hotel. beautiful rooms. but if you dare to go there, do not get a room with WINDOWS!!! we stayed over on a sunday nite with a monday holiday...and went to bed kinda late...to be awakened by dozens of jackhammers promptly at 7AM...on a holiday no less. Great service. Great location!

Convenient location, comfortable bed and linens, tiny bathroom and the room itself was on the small size. Staff was professional and courtes and I would use it again; just ask about a larger room.

hotel is located in a great area, but the hotel is always under contrcution. the elevators are slow, but the staff is very nice. rooms are small but also very nice.

Immediatly entering the hotel I walked up to the front desk and asked if I could store my bags somewhere till check in, they told me sure and that my room would be available at 12. I came back at 1 and was told to wait just 10 minutes and it will be ready. I sat in the lobby for an hour, bein completely ignored by the rude front desk people. I walked […] up to ask once again if my room was ready, the lady told me no and it won't be till 4. Now I understand hotels have certain check in times but the fact that I was lied to three times about my room made me lose it. I got angry with the lady and she immediately gave me a room on the spot. This hotel has the worst customer service I've ever encountered at any hotel. As for the room, it was decent, the cleaning was just fine, but the drain in the shower was clogged and turned I to a bath 3 minutes in. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Читати далі

Although the hotel was being renovated to improve the lobby it was surprisingly quiet for Manhattan. It is close to all our favorite museums with fabulous eateries and shopping nearby.

Thought the hotel was great. Room service were brilliant and we had a great time. Big problem is the noise outside because of the construction work which starts at 7 a.m. We had very little sleep. I'm sure if you're at the back of the hotel you'll be fine but we overlooked the main road and it was awful. Would go back again but only once the building work has stopped and will probably ask for a different room. Very central to everything, great little supermarket outside. Took a travel kettle which was useful but check with hotel as they might supply one. Had a fridge for personal use in the room, not a mini bar so could keep milk, juice etc. Iron and board are supplied, even an umbrella. If there were any problems they were taken care of promptly. The room was very warm, they suggested turning on the a/c, which I did. It was so noisy that it woke me up several times during the night.

Small lobby-no problem though. Wonderful, helpful staff!! VERY clean! Upgraded with out even inquiring. Room was small but I wasn't there to visit the hotel I was there for the city! Easy access to 79th St. subway. I felt very safe in the neighborhood. My only concern, which I read about from other guests was the heat in the room. Hard to adjust. We had a suite and it was suppose to have a separate room (with door) which it didn't. Room wasn't cleaned promptly and the bathroom was gross.

When I'm travelling for business, I don't have much time to enjoy all the bells and whistles at more expensive hotels anyway. Belleclaire offered a clean and comfortable room and the free wireless access was much appreciated too. The comfort of the bed and pillows warrants a special mention. Also convenient to the subway.

Clean, friendly hotel near a subway stop in the upper westside. Easily accessible, free wifi, and free snacks/water. Room very small but bathroom was clean and bigger than expected. This is a fine hotel for a quick stay in NYC since you shouldn't spend much time in your room anyway!

The only complaint is that it can be loud with cars outside.

This was my 1st time staying at this hotel, I really liked it. The staff were very friendly, the room was quite big (for NYC!) & very clean! Very small bathroom but clean & hot water worked at all times... I will stay here again.

A great place at a really reasonable price for NY. Near the subway lines 1,2 that allows to enjoy the city to the fullest.
