Nice staff. Tough to find a parking spot in tiny front lot, or side of bldg (get there early, but nothing to do!). No individual heating or a/c in room -- if building is on a/c, and temp outside is cold for a night, they can't switch over to heat.(springtime)... call ahead to see if heat or a/c is on. Front desk did offer me a blanket! Festive atmosphere, […] since everyone is wondering what is next! Bed springs very evident, but slept alright. Good # of TV channels, including HBO. We were told that we were booked into a non-smoking room but given a smoking one which was seedy and smelly, with a badly dripping faucet, terribly noisy air conditioner, particles in bed.

I needed to be in the general location of this hotel to meet someone early the next morning. I should have gone somewhere else and dealt with the traffic in the morning. The place looked like it was set up as a place for people to crash after partying in the entertainment room downstairs. To check in, I had to slide my ID through a security slot in […] the safety glass. The room was supposed to be "non smoking" but there was an ashtray by the bed and the room smelled of smoke. The heating/cooling just had on/off and no temperature, the bed was hard and had thin foam pillows. The walls were thin and I could hear noises all night - I would have slept better in my car. TV, only one station. No news on TV. Elevator to parking garage required a keys making it inconvenient. I parked out front in parking lot and my was hit and will cost me my $250 deductible to fix. All and all I had an unpleasant stay.

This is a place that could really be great if the property owner just put some money into it; however, as is, it attracts the wrong crowd, is lacking in service and amenities (like air conditioning...thankfully we were there in spring!). The inn is about 5-10 mins. from the Phila Zoo and museum. 15-20 center city/couth philly in a quiet suburban area. There is a Chilis across the street and a chinese buffet, gas station convienence store next door. The parking garage was under renovation so parking was a bit tight. Very simple basic room . The room was nice and clean, NO BEDBUGS (I […] check by the mattress and can tell if there is evidence of them-none) . The service was efficient and helpful. I was there Friday night and there was too little parking (it is an urban type location, without a large surrounding parking area. We parked two deep with the understanding I might get a call in the morning to move my car out so the fellow I was blocking could get out. There […] was a dispute between the incoming and outgoing desk person which was a bit of a verbal fight - the armed guard in the lobby added a calming voice. This and the parking situation delayed check-in - and then I went up to a room that was already occupied. The staff is actually nice and helpful, but it was a rough experience. I guess you get what you paid for. I stayed in seedy cheap motels in my days but I almost moved out of this one. Windows don't open. No central air conditioning. The room has "some" air conditioning thing with no thermostate and it blows mildewy air that you can't escape. "front desk" if you can call it that is unhelpful, confrontational and rude. This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed...and this includes seedy youth hostels when I was younger. I would not recommend this hotel again. The heater/cooler was an on off switch controlled in the basement depending on the time of year. Except during my stay it neither heated nor cooled. This place is very inexpensive but simple improvements should still be made. My TV remote worked fine for two days and then started to work erratically. The repairman showed up but refused to listen to my request to replace the batteries. He just put the same batteries into another remote, so I got the same sporadic response for the next two days. (My […] friend's TV never did work at all in his room). The power outlet didn't work in the bathroom, so I had to pull out the nightstand to get access to a plug that would work, so I could shave. Nobody ever came up to fix it, even though I reported it the first day. On the third day, I went down to the desk to ask for a taxi, and got the unbelievable response that it would take at least an hour. I suspected they were in collusion with just one taxi driver (who I had already used), so I just walked over to a Hilton about a block away and they got me a taxi in 5 minutes. How about that for resourcefulness? The rest of the staff treated me fine. There is nothing to do in the neighborhood except for a Chili’s across the street and a small shopping center. Friendly check in, and security. They are on top of any problems that occur. Bathtub had a crack and leaked water into the room beneath me. Overall average. Otherwise great overnight spot

Staff was very helpful. Room was fine for the price. Would definitely stay here again.

Older building and older interior and fixtures needing some maintenance, but very helpful & friendly staff, extremely safe and convenient location. Great value for the money. Highly recommended to those willing to sacrifice "the immaculate" for "the decent."

My visit to Philadelphia was great despite the problems that came from the hotel. My first room was clean and mantained but the hot water in the bathtub did not work so I had to change rooms. They could not locate the iron board and iron when I requested it. I was willing to wait for it but it never showed and they stated that they could not find it. […] So I had to go to my event without ironing my clothing. When we returned to the hotel that night there were police in the lobby from a party reception that went bad. Also on the website they offer coffee in the morning but when I asked the front desk the next day where could I locate it they advised me that they don't provide it. the hotel was perfect for what i needed i dont have alot of money so it was affordable in my budget and once schedualed reservation online it was short and easy going to the desk and to my room i honestly felt like i should have gotten alot less for how low the price was for the night... thank you for the info on this listing!

This is an adequate hotel affordably priced & centrally located. Very dated & a little run down, but very freindly!

Requested a nonsmoking room, but apparantly rules are not enforced the whole floor smelled like smoke. Had to have housekeeping change sheets in one of the beds black hairs and lint debris in sheets. No soap and only 2 hand towels available to dry off with after shower, Hot water control knob leaked profusely.

Needed last minute room and cheapest price in area and came upon this hotel. Hotel employees are definitely of 5 star quality. As for the room itself, outdated, kind of run down, but was clean enough for a quick one night stay. Definitely is what you pay for. I would personally give 2 and HALF Stars only because of quality of room.

Called because we were coing late had reservation . Got to the desk at 2 am had to be up by 5:30 am to work. Lost reservation took 15 min to straighten out. Went up to the room and some one had been sleeping in my bed. Went back down was given another room . finally got to sleep by 3 20. The question asked of me by the front desk when they called and woke me at 110AM. No preface- just blurt it out. Me- I can't answer that; I'm on the 4th floor. Stayed here a couple times.. It's quiet served it's purpose. Really needs to be upgraded.. A little out dated for me. Overall I have no serious complaints. Staff was friendly.

We went in and checked out our room first on the fourth floor (remind you its no smoking) with our two children the whole floor smelled like marijuna we told the front desk she didnt seem to care and we walked out we tried all weekend to get a hold of a manager but couldnt had to wait til monday to talk to someone to get our money back!

There was absolutely NO parking. The hotel said to park at the pizza place next store but be out by 10am or we'd be towed! We parked in front of someone else instead and they called us by mistake at 7am to move our vehicle! The heater barely worked and we were freezing all night! Oh, and you can not adjust the temperature. It's just on or off! I've […] never even seen that! The shower, once started, wouldn't shut off and a security guy came up to figure it out. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $$ to get a real room somewhere else. I'm not even picky and this place was the worst. They have many rooms and about six parking spots! What a joke. there was a very large party at the hotel the night we checked in (there was at least one armed guard working). we were told by a gentleman in the parking lot that was trying to direct traffic there that there was no room in the hotel parking lot and for us to park next door behind the chinese buffet. there was a sign at the entrance of the parking […] lot stating there is a $150 hookup fee for illegally parked cars. we found fake eyelashes under the covers of both beds in the room. there was NO peephole in the door and no safety chain on the door. in the description it states city view. i had to press my face against the window and turn my head 90 degrees to the right and i barely saw one building. there was no available parking for me a guest, but they let people park in their lot that were attending the party!!!! and we did see that there is at least a 4 story parking garage connected to the back of the building. In spite of the low average rating, I picked this hotel for my Thanksgiving weekend stay. Other users must expect fine champagne on a beer budget. Yes, the carpet was a bit worn, but the room was clean and comfortable. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. If all you need is a bed to rest in - this is your place. Otherwise, not recommended.

A loud raucous wedding took place right below our room. They "will end by midnight" -- then "by 12:30 am." Then, "They are leaving now..." Then, the Cleaners showed up with loud vacuum machines. Our sleep, in preparation for a 12k race, was obviously affected. A "night of horrors" accurately reflects this debacle. Never again!

If the cost does matter you can stay here but ...

Quality of service was poor. Marginally professional. Parking space not available. Would not recommend.

The staff seemed more concerned with socializing with one another than actually giving us the time of day. We had to ask the man at the front desk to call us a cab several times and ended up waiting in front of the hotel for an hour before finally haling our own cab.
