We knew before arriving not to expect 4 stars as we had read the reviews. Our first room had black mold along the ceiling and we were moved to a new room immediately which was good. Our new room smelled moldy as well but did not have visible signs and as we had previously payed, we stayed. The staff was variable from unpleasant to not speaking anything […] but French. The night staff member was very nice. Overall, I would not reccomend it nor return. It Is extremely over priced, in need of maintenance, and generally an expensive place to "crash". However, the area is lovely with a type of farmer's market and I would definitely recommend staying in this area as it was very easy to access metro and hop on hop off tours at the Champs Élysées. Staff very rude and unattentive. Ordered a room for 3 with either 3 single beds or a double and a single. Was provided a room with a double and a sofa bed. The sofa bed extremely uncomfortable and very squeaky. Advised several staff of this but no offer to change accomodations, apologies - nothing. Each one passed the buck on to someone else. Was told […] their would be free WiiFi - there is Wifi if you are lucky enough to find it in one spot of lobby - not in rooms and is slow. Was told that hotel is 100 m from metro - it is at least l/4 mile. Breakfast costs 14 euros per person-was not told of this fee either. Witnessed several visitors complain of this fee also. Not at all significant. Very ordinary and lacking in standard American hotel accommodation. I will not go back to this hotel when in Paris again.

If you're clear as to what to expect, Villa Alessandra will satisfy your basic hotel needs : quiet rooms in a small picturesque Parisian blind alley located in a "safe" neighborhood (don't let the many homeless persons find shelter in the street nearby frighten you), not far from metro and bus stops. The big down side is the hotel management obvious […] choice not to re-invest in the infrastructures that badly need revisiting, which means a "has been" establishment, still flying a four star banner while handing out a two star comfort : tiny, neglected rooms, bare floors, no coffee maker, no bathrobe available even on demand, a non functioning heater in the bathroom, not a magnifying mirror in sight (yes, some of us need them not to smear mascara on our cheek) and a outrageously pricy breakfast, very much cheaper in the nearby bistro only a minute walk away. Ups : quite a friendly staff even though reviews has been heard to say the opposite, many shops nearby but then Paris is full of them. What to say? Location was great ,.. Walking Distance to Arc, Champs, metro and bus stops. Rooms small, but beds were comfortable and barhroom clean and new. Breakfast not cery good, but dozens of cafe's within a few blocks. Great place if you want a good price, good location and comfortable stay.

We stayed for 3 nights with our daughter. Room was small and although clean was shabby and in need of maintenance. Bathroom floor flooded every time you used shower. We would not rate this as a 4 star and were disappointed. Couple of staff members at reception have a poor attitude and show little courtesy. We asked several times for our room safe code […] to be activated and this was never done. Very irritating that staff at reception get stuck on lengthy phone calls without calling for assistance to deal with guests who are waiting. However the area is generally quieter and less frenetic which can be welcome after a day of busy sightseeing. There is fantastic fresh food market just round the corner - amazing to browse through or buy bread, cheese, deli items for picnic lunches (good option if you are feeding families as Paris can be very pricey). 3 minutes walk from Ternes Metro station, about 10 mins walk from L'Arc de Triomphe. The proximity to metro is the positive aspect of this hotel. In case of comparing the rate vs the facilities, it looks like little bit lacking like no wifi in room, safe lock not working.

THIS HOTEL IS NOT A 4 STARS RANKING I STAYED FOR 2 MORE NIGHTS AT MERCURE AND THE DIFFERENCE IS HUDGE. BED COVER DIRTY ROOM TINY SAME FOR BATHROOM NO INTERNET IN ROOMS POOR SERVICE

This hotel does not deserve the 4* rating. It is well located, next to a nice market. It is also quiet. However it starts to look seriously run down, it smells and the equipment (lights, heating) are sub-standard. Overall a big disappointment.

Great location - 2 minutes from an underground station, 5-10 mins walk from the arc de triomphe and the top of the champs elisé... lots of restaurants within walking distance (and bakeries for your morning pan au chocolat), and even a careforre supermarket 5 minutes walk away. We arrive at the hotel after dark and were a little worried about the location, but in the light of day it was absolutely fine! *hint* We got the train and metro from the airport to the hotel and back, which wasn't a problem and cheaper than a taxi/shuttle bus. OK forget others, this is THE review. This is the BEST LOCATION in Paris, 10 mins walk from Etoile. This is an AMAZING hotel for this price. Trust me, I asked most hotels in that area and they were priced at least double, sometimes 3 times the price of this hotel, and 4*. I booked 8 weeks in advance and chose the "non-refundable suite" option for the […] price of a normal room. It was HUGE. 1 large double bedroom, 1 large living room with sofa which opens as a bed, and 1 large bathroom (both shower and bath). I paid £69 per night and you can't get anything 4* in that location, trust me, I've been to Paris 50 times. It is not the most modern hotel but how long do you spend in the lobby? I had read mixed reviews about this Hotel, therefore I was a bit afraid before going there. To my suprise, the Hotel was excellent, the staff was experienced and helpful and the location was great. Breakfast could use a little variety as we were there 7 nights and the food did not change but that was a minor inconvenience. This hotel is nothing extraordinary but located very good and really good value for money. I would definitely recommend this to anyone going to Paris!

Don’t expect excellent customer service in Europe, especially in this hotel. The staff of this hotel are accustomed to talk to their coworkers instead of working; so don’t get frustrated if they prioritize their personal conversations over your concerns and you should get used to go to the counter 2 or three times to remind them about your concerns. […] Some people in the front desk are somewhat friendly; however, the only girl at the front desk was mean and she even got upset when I asked her to help me make reservations for a restaurant (Don’t get frustrated – in this hotel, people who take your money think that they are doing you a favor by providing you with the service that you paid for). Only two great things about this hotel: location and cleanliness. Those two make it worth to stay since you would be very close to a great street market where you can find wine, cheese, bread and fresh fruit - great place to grab breakfast to go. Also you would be 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station and about 10 min walk to the arc of triumph and Champs Elysees. The downside to this is that the area is not cheap so if you are looking for a cheaper area with good hotels look around the Latin Quarter. I liked the area though and I always felt safe even late at night. Wifi is free and available at the lobby. This is far from a 4 star hotel; I would compare it to a 3 star. Villa Alessandra only has its location going for it. The rooms in the hotel are not well kept and the service, specially from the lady at reception, is anything but good and friendly. If you can find another hotel close to Champs Elysees or to public transport in Paris, I would recommend you chose that one and not Villa Alessandra.

my room was the smallest room I had ever seen, just a big bigger than a broom cupboard. Clearly disappointed for a 4 star hotel. Otherwise it was clean, staff is OK and it is situated on a little corner place so very calm. Despite great location I would not stay there again in fear of being given this doll house room.

Please listen carefully. If you get a room facing the front of this Villa, you are in for the following: 1. Huge amount of noise from the market around the corner at 4:00 a.m. daily and huge amount of noise from the marketing company to the side of the Villa who employ many young adults who smoke on their breaks. 2. Lots of cigarette smoke from those […] smoking at the entrance to the Villa; 3. No bathrobe or newspaper as advertised; 4. Mini bar was not cold; no a/c and no venilation in the bathroom. So it was very hot but when you opened the windows, you had a huge amount of noise and smoke any time of the day or night. 5. The room had one old fan and finally another one was brought up. 6. Don't expect any iron or wash cloths-they do not provide them. 7. In our room, the tile in the bathroom needed cleaning and the strip along the shower was half on, half off. I took pictures. This is NOT even a three star hotel. Air conditioning was a stand-up unit in the room that was all but useless. TV plug fell out of the wall. Room was small and in need of a face lift.

Excellent location - generally good but no air-con which is hard when the weather is mid 20s plus but they did put in a small fan. Issues with some beds and broken springs- but sorted by turning over. Generally no bad for good deal I managed to get without breakfast esp as paris is hard to find reasonably priced accomodation which is satisfactory.

deception a total let down. aroom tiny and without any air conditioning bathroom with dirty disjointed taps a shower door that does not stay in place when positioned. the bathroom roof nealy falls when one opens the door a window that cant open because of the bed cryped satalight tv non existant mini bar not plugged in(hot day so hot drinks) no internet […] with the exception of the wifi network of th hotel neils two streets away. im sorry to say this hotel does not merit 4 stars becaus ive even stayed in two stars that have better service. very disapointed and upset that my son couldnt benefit fully of hiss visit to paris Читати далі

Really enjioyed exploring the Arc de triomph-Etoile area. Rue Poincelet market was vibrant, good restaurants at reasonable prices around hotel. Hotel comfortable, but would not have liked to pay full price, but excellent value through Hotels.com

Very good location-close to market area with lovely patisserie etc. The hotel lacks tea making facilities but plenty places to eat and drink nearby-be prepared this is expensive.The hotel is simply decorated, clean and equivalent to 3*- our room was a bit noisy first thing ie 6am with garbage lorries, deliveries etc!! However we were there for 3 nights […] so manageable. Near Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees which makes travel on bus/metro easy! We flew with Ryanair into Beavais airport saving money on flights (i.e. to Charles de Gaulle). Although another 80min on the bus into Paris - priced 30 euro return each it was an excellent service. Bus pick up conveniently located at Port Maillot for return home. Certainly not put off by our experience - we would use hotel and Ryanair again! Читати далі

This was such a beautiful little hotel tucked away behind a fresh open market so that every morning we could get fresh bread, fruit, and things for lunch or dinner. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and next time I go back to Paris I will definitely stay here!!

The hotel was in an incredible location. And it was cheap as we got it through a special deal. And it was clean. For the bad things... 1. We were put in a room that had two UNEVEN double beds pushed together. Doesn't work well for a romantic trip with my fiance. It was so completely uncomfortable that I barely got any sleep the entire time. 2. They […] wouldn't give us any extra pillows. They said they were completely booked and didn't have any to spare. We were left with two airplane sized pillows. I ended up putting a towel under mine. 3. They didn't refill the toilet paper. We had to go to the lobby to ask for more when the maid didn't give us a new roll. 4. The phones don't work. They said they would give us a wake up call but the phones didn't work so that didn't happen. 5.They forgot to give us two towels one of the days so we had to go ask for a second towel. 6. They have room service only at night 7. Their breakfast was way overpriced 8. We had to give them the key every morning when we left the hotel and wait to find someone when we got back in the evening to get our key back and go to our room. Читати далі

Location was in a nice area and close to attractions. Room is clean. Bed is hard and almost painful to sleep on. No place to sit comfortably in the room and no Tea/Coffee pot. In my room, internet and phone signal were practically not there.

Quiet location, fairly clean, but the service is dismal! The front desk clerk was constantly on personal phone calls throughout the evening and would not answer the front desk phone. It was always busy and I had to walk down to the lobby several times for questions and room service. Not to stay is my answer!

Hotel was convienent to Champs Elysees, comfortable and amazingly quiet because it's tucked into a cul de sac

No cleaning under beds (found old pants full of dust) Because the lack of space between bath, toilet and sink, cover toilet has been cut to be able to lift it, and we were unable to lift the seat itself. The size of this 4 stars room was under standart. I have stayed in a number of hotels in France, and this is 2 plus or 3 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star hotel. It was hot when we were there, and the air conditioning was non existant - they didn't even pretend that it ever worked, but they did deliver a fan on the second night. The only thing that got it an extra star was the ac because the breakfast […] is overpriced (we didn't eat it) and the room is purely 2 or low 3 star. One other negative, the guy at the desk was absolutely worthless - I would have to write a whole review to explain the poor servoice from him, but the woman was pretty good. On the positive, the location is great and the neighborhood has a lot of good places to eat and very good transportation options. So, you cvan book, b ut do nopt expect a 4 star American hotel, expect a Hampton Inn with no ac. Читати далі

This hotel is very well located! It's only two blocks away from the metro station and maybe 5 blocks from L'arc de Triomph and Les Champs Elysees. The neighborhood is very safe. We would always come back from the bars after midnight and we never felt unsafe walking around the area. The hotel was very clean and the room was big(compared to other European […] hotels). The bathroom was clean and the beds were comfortable. One block away from the hotel is a street market were you can get anything from fruits, wine, cheese, bread, etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Читати далі

Great location in this neighborhood. Loads of nearby restaurants and a little farmer's market right at your front door with fresh goodies every morning. If you are up for the walk, the Arc and Eifel Tower can be walked to in around a half hour. Small rooms, but expected. Staff was helpful but could have been a bit more forthcoming with information. One […] warning, do not ask them to call you a taxi - go out and get one yourself. We asked them to call and when it arrived, we were expected to pay for the time & mileage that the taxi took to get to our hotel (an additional thirteen euros on to the fare). We spoke with the hotel and they said they were aware of the policy, but did not inform us of this in advance. Shame as this was the only "black eye" on our stay at the Villa. Читати далі

This hotel turned out to be a gem tucked in the corner. The staff were wonderful and the location fantastic being a block from fhe metro, close to shopping, and right near a farmers market where we were able to get some great fruit etc for snacks etc. travel to all the sights of Paris was very easy and coming back to this quiet, nice place at the end […] of a busy day was very nice. I would stay at Villa Alessandra again if I were going for 3 or 4 days. The hotel is in walking distance to the metro, the Red Car sightseeing bus stop, Champs Elysees and the Arch de Triumph. There are numerous restaurants in the area, so spending money in the hotel for breakfast is not necessary. The rooms are tiny by US standards. A twin room is […] two twin beds pushed together. This hotel is located a few blocks from the Arc de Triomphe, close to the Etoile and Ternes metro stations. The hotel is attractive and located on a cul de sac right by an amazing market. However, as some other reviewers have noted, the hotel seems to have some maintenance issues that can affect the comfort of the guests. For example, we were there […] during August, and it was quite hot, but there was no air conditioning during our entire stay. We were first told the technician was coming the next morning, and then told that he was on vacation all week (and apparently he is the only technician in all of Paris qualified to fix their A/C!) We also had a very slow drain that could have been fixed with a little drain cleaner but wasn't. The staff were very friendly and offered great suggestions for places to go in the neighborhood, the neighborhood is great, the hotel is pleasant, but as noted by others, the maintenance can be a bit of an issue. We stayed in this hotel from several nights and were overall pleased. Our room was located on the lower level next to the restaurant and the only complaint is that starting at 6:30 a.m. the staff does get rather loud with the food preperations for breakfast and we were not able to sleep in. I would definately recommend a room on one of the other levels. […] The room was very clean and larger than expected (but not large by US standards.) The bed was firm but that's typical of European beds. We were there early August and temperatures were cool at night so no a/c was needed. It's located not too far from the Arc of Triumph which has public transportation all around. Lots of good restaurants nearby so we did not use the hotel restaurant. A reasonable hotel in a fantastic location. The highlight was the local markets, which were open Saturday and Sunday morning. The negative was the absence of working airconditioning throughout the hotel for the 2 night duration of our stay. I would only recommend this hotel in summer if the airconditioning was working.

found hotel to be clean and comfortable. reception staff very friendly and helpful and although we tried our best to speak French, they were perfectly happy to speak English and did so clearly. didnt try the breakfast as we felt it was expensive. room was big enough for a two day stay and well equipped to suit our needs. great location !!
