"good quality hotel"
The hotel has a nice location for visiting the westcoast and staying within budget. The drive to tofino and the rim park is especially nice due to many curves in the mountains and therefore given views. Driving time is 1,5 hour to Tofino. Alberni itself isn't a metropool but has a couple of fine restaurants all within walking distance of the hojo hotel. The staff of the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and tidy. Television reception was good and availability of channels. I wanted to see.I asked for extra pillows and they were there. The continental breakfast provided was more than adequate and across the road is a family restaurant which had a n excellent menu and terrific food. "continental breakfast"
A continental breakfast was included in the price of the hotell room. The milk was sour, there was no juice, only white bread for toast, no hot water for tea. The only thing I could eat was dry raisin bran. The girl in the restaurant told me that they were awaiting their order which is the reason they had few items on their breakfast table.

Good hotel, close to town and boat launch. Breakfast was literally cereal, toast, and apples and oranges, thats it. TV remote did not work and phone in room did not ring (wake up?). For the money it was ok.

"If you stay in Port Alberni, Stay at Best Western"
I was very very surprised with this hotel. I don't know where to start. We knew as soon as we pulled up that it wasn't the best of places. The lady at the front desk barely got off her chair to check us in. I felt like we were bothering her. The hotel was overall very dark. We had two lights in our room and one didn't work most of the time. It had some […] outlets on the front of the lamp so I tried to charge my phone. I think that caused it to short circuit. Downstairs in the "breakfast room" the lights also flickered. I don't know if it can really be called a breakfast room. The continental breakfast that was advertised to come with the room was toast. Yup just toast. They were convientely out of orange juice and they "ran out" of coffee while I was there. I could have waited another 20 minutes for her to make more. But I was anxious to leave. The hotel and room were overall very firty and grimy. There was no fan in bathroom and lots of mold. The door was peeling up. The shower sprayed in all directions. The curtains broke when I tried to close them. They advertise that they have alundry facilities on site. YOu would have to go through a locked door into the adjacent apartments and then you can use the laundry facicities. And the laundry room is lovely. It comes with a toilet under the sink. I can't say one good thing about this hotel. I wish I could get my money back. As we drove through town and passed by the Best Western, I really wish I had made my reservation there. Читати далі

The room appeared clean, however, the smell was terrible. Not sure if it was musty or a mouse smell. We slept with the windows open. We beds were ok, but had much better. We had some problems with our TV, but the front desk helped out. The continential breakfast was good.
the location of this hotel is very convinient and the price is right for the season. They allow you to use there kitchen if you bring your own food. friendly staff,.

The room was small, we needed and extra cot for a child and we had to move all the furniture around which blocked the door and bathroom. uncomfortable beds, got insect bites on my arms. we could not open the window as there were no screens to keep bugs out at night. mold in caulking of tub, only 3 towels for 4 people, terrible breakfast - not enough […] dishes at self serve - terrible quality food. "Helpful staff"
The hotel was a very good value. It is basic lodgings for those who have a lot of things to do and just want a good place to stay. The staff was extremely helpful and definately the best thing about the property.
The room had only two lights - one by the door, one by the beds. Gloomy and inconvenient for reading in bed. The hair drier did not work until staff pressed a broken reset button. Room was chilly (heat was on a timer) until staff supplied a portable heater. Water was hot, but bath had mould around the edge and the tub/shower faucet was dysfunctional […] - turn on bath and get a shower at same time and vice versa. Bon accueil, chambre confortable. Bon endroit pour faire des activités dans la région, moins cher qu'à Tofino qui est à 2 h de voiture.
