Manor Hotel - Слау

Location was fine, parking at the side, but not much. The restaurant was nice, but the steaks shown on the sample menu and mentioned on the the board outside don't exist; plus the food was all over-seasoned. The rooms were clean, but very small and in need of maintenance.

Our executive room was comfortable and well appointed. Modern bathroom fittings seemed impressive, until realised only half of double shower was actually fitted!!! Minibar also empty. On arrival there was a notice saying there would be noise until 1pm because of a wedding. I don't think it is fair to leave it til you check in to tell you this sort of […] information. It should be made available at booking. however, that said our room was very quiet as we were out of the main building. Main complaint was service at breakfast. Clearly understaffed and poorly managed. Had to wait ages for hot food to reappear on the small buffet. Overall it was a nice hotel to stay in for the night, good location for surrounding Windsor area and met our purposes for a one-off one night stay, but could definitely do with better management. Our room was situated in the overspill house some 300 or so yards from the hotel. The so called executive room was very small with a tiny wardrobe, so small we had to keep our things in the suite case. It was clean and the bed was very comfy, apart from the cast iron sticking out at the bottom of the bed which kept catching your legs as you passed. […] The area around the hotel had just two pubs which lack atmosphere as did the hotel bar. To say its almost in Windsor was a mistake as it was expensive in the Taxi there and back. I wouldn't recommend anyone to get a taxi from the hotel as it was double the price of any other taxi firm, make your own mind up whats going on here. Also the staff failed to tell us the code on the entrance gate to the overspill house which was dreadful at 12.30pm and no one on the desk to help, they did turn up 20 minuets later to tell us the number. I will not be returning to this hotel and would not recommend it as you could stay in the heart of Windsor for the same price. Читати далі

Good location for Windsor. Use train station next to hotel as not walkable as thought, as states 1.2 miles in details. Hotel layout a bit confusing with many corridors. Room was clean, tidy & the beds comfortable. The downsides are the road and aircraft noise. Parking was also an issue. Had to squeeze in a space in a hotel owned house across the road. Hotel was clean and comfortable however, none of the staff speak very good English and we were physically attached in the bar by a very drunk non-resident which resulted in the police being called and the guy being arrested. We had been to a family wedding nearby but this totally spoilt our day. No apology or compensation offered by the hotel so far. […] We had high hopes of this hotel being the perfect location for future use but will never stay there again. Читати далі

Hotel looks quaint and charming on website (and is), but we were housed in a modern house across the road and across the railway line - felt like a B&B without the lounge. We were told it was an "upgrade" - highly unlikely. In the hotel, service was completely haphazard, and food inadequate. Breakfast buffet was ample if you were first to arrive, but […] nothing was replenished, leaving no bread, pastries, fruit, milk, etc etc for those who arrived part was through service. No heating at all in bathroom on very cold day No hor water in morning

The location was great right by the train station for us. I had splashed out a little booking an executive room with king size bed as a surprise for my husbands birthday, however I was advised the hotel was full due to a wedding and we were not in in the normal double but a smaller one! I walked in and right out of the room as it was awfull. I insisted […] on being moved, we were to a much nicer but tiny room and promised to be moved again the following day as we were still not in what I had paid for. Clearly not happy they eventually agreed. A refund was rejected and a few complimentary drinks offered instead. Finally we moved again to a much nicer, bigger room but still no king size bed. All in all the treat was ruined. I had to fight to get what I had paid for and on that basis would not reccomend the hotel to my friends. Читати далі

L'hotel est situé près d'une barrière automatique de voie ferrée, non loin de l'aéroport donc la gêne du passage des avions juste au dessus de l'hotel !! Le personnel de l'hotel ne parle pas du tout le francais. La télévision n'a aucune chaîne française, nous sommes resté 4 nuits sans pouvoir regarder la télévision. Le petit déjeuner buffet complet […] mais rien n'etait réfrigéré sur la table buffet donc si vous arrivé à 10h00 les fruits ou les yaourts sont chaud par exemple (le café n'est pas top et en plus impossible d'avoir un chocolat chaud!!) Notre chambre était vraiment MINUSCULE et les rideaux étaient sales. Par contre l'entrée et la récéption de l'hotel était beau.Nous avions choisi cet hotel pour avoir la possibilité de fumer, mais pas du tout l'hotel est complètement non fumeur. Enfin à notre départ ils nous réclament un petit déjeuner anglais que nous n'avons pas fait, alors que un matin nous n'avons même pas déjeuner à l'hotel. Mais elle a retrouvée l'erreur OUF... Cet hotel ne mérite pas du tout ses 4 étoiles.... Par contre l'Angleterre est un pays à voir! Читати далі
