The hotel looked clean and nice in the pictures as well as on the exterior of the building, but the rooms were very dirty and run down. You could feel the springs through the mattresses. There was grime all around the lower bathroom walls and floor. The liner of our drape was all eaten away. Always a nice time here everyone is pleasant and rooms are clean, Breakfast is stocked with many items, I've stayed here three times now and have had a great time, each and everyday.

The rooms are always clean The breakfast is excellent . the location is perfect I stay there two or three times a year. the best aspect of the motel is the staff. All of them, they are courteous, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

There was a suspicious brown smear on the wall near the toilet. The tub plug was broken and laying in the tub. I had a complimentary shampoo bottle that was left 1/2 used compliments of someone else. The edging tool on the hotel vacuums have evidently been lost long ago, because there was a good deal of grunge around the baseboard areas. Maid service […] took the face cloths after day one of my stay and didn't replace them. Various dents in the walls left me wondering exactly how angry previous residents had gotten when they found the brown smear or 1/2 bottle of shampoo and no wathcloths. This was a good enough hotel for the one night we stayed. Probably would not want to stay longer. Things were clean but on the shabby side. And to the manager that does not want to provide cooking spray for the waffle maker......yes, you do need to spray it for each use and that is why people were putting butter on the waffle maker because their waffles […] stuck. If you provided inexpensive can of coking spray, then perhaps you would not have to hide the butter behind the counter and there would be less frustration among your guests and your employees who have to deal with the people whose waffle was ruined and who have to be the "guardians" of the butter. Very comfortable stay. Just what one needs when passing through for a night. Very inexpensive.

Excellent lodgings for the very reasonable price. My trip was not planned but I was able to get a room on very short notice. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the breakfast items are well-stocked, fresh and delicious.

I have spent many days on the road in my lifetime, but I can't recall the last time I stayed at a hotel as poor as this one. I paid in advance for three nights and stayed one. I've never taken the time to write a bad review until now. DO NOT stay there!!!!!

This is the 4th year I came from Pennsylvania to go to my family reunion in Hillsborough, NC that I have stayed at the Microtel Inn & Suites. This time, my son and I got a suite and it was very nice, however a second chest of drawers would have been good... The staff was most friendly and accommodated our needs well. Thank you! :)

My wife had a Dr Appt. at Duke Hospital so we came up from Wilkesboro NC and spent the night. This is the first time we have stayed in a Microtel. My wife is handicapped and the hotel clerk even helped us with our luggage. The service and staff were very nice. Overall this was a great hotel. The breakfast was good and the employees were very nice. My room was clean but the window seat did show some signs of wear, nothing was dirty though. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were great! While the hotel is close to the interstate and not hard to find it was raining pretty hard when I got there […] and because the hotel is set back off of the road I passed it and had to turn around. We stayed overnight on our way to the Outer Banks. For the price we payed, I was very satisfied. No complaints.

This hotel needs to keep a much better eye on details (the carpets need cleaning, bed linens are worn, there was a used bar of soap left in the shower, etc.). That said, I think we got our money's worth and had a fairly comfortable stay.

I enjoyed myself at the Microtell. Especially because of the personnel-Tony who offered to arrange for a service that other hotels would have left you on your own to do. Other guests from my party raved about Tony and how accomodating and pleasant he was going above and beyond, by sending refreshments and being a liaison for them and another friend […] voyaging into town. The breakfast was simple but sufficient, even included a waffle maker. The hotel has the basics and everything u need for your stay And for the price- it really worked out well. Once we arrived the posting read, vacancy , at half the rate we actually paid at a supposedly booked hotel. The bed was a saturday night special, worn out in the middle. The sofa sleeper base was almost unusable, most of the springs were GONE to support the base mat under the mattress. The rooms were tiny, and everything was run down and dingy looking. The rooms are so small, if you plan on spending any amount of time, (other than sleeping) you don't want to choose this hotel. On the bright side, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast offered was decent.

We got what we paid for with this hotel. It was fairly clean but the complementary breakfast was gross...we could not eat anything offered. The location was a bit in the boonies but was fairly quiet and served its purpose.

I enjoyed my stay at Microtel and the people there was friendly and very helpful.

I WAS ON A TRIP TO TAKE IN THE NASCAR RACES IN CHARLOTTE, NC, AND AT THE SAME TIME I WAS TRYING TO GET IN SOME VISIT TIME WITH RELATIVES FROM MICHIGAN THAT I HADN;T SEEN IN A LONG TIME. THEY WERE THERE TO ATTEND A WEDDING AND RELATED EVENTS IN HILLSBOROUGH. WE ALL GOT TO GET IN ON THE EVENTS THAT WE WERE THERE FOR AND SPEND TIME TOGETHER.

Very congenial management. located close to Route 85 and 40. Plan to return.

Clean spacious room, large TV with lots of channels, comfortable beds

We went to a wedding in downtown Chapel Hill. We needed to book two rooms. The hotels downtown were so expensive and some of them wouldn't allow children under 2. (We have 2 under 2) Our rooms were very spacious, had new flat screen TVs, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved this hotel. A great value for the price. I immediately booked another Microtel for my stay next week in Charlotte.

Hotel was generally clean and was convienient to Hillsboro where I had several meetings. They need to have a non-smoking floor. We had a "non smoking" room but not so for most of the floor. When you first get off the elevator the smell of stale cigarette smoke hits you in the face and follows you into the room. I stayed here and I have no complaints about the breakfast, or the room itself. Everything was very comfy and very clean. The only issue I had was with the hot water. The first night I was there I had hot water. The next morning I went to take a shower and there was No Hot Water. It was totally cold, not even a little warm. My husband went to the front […] desk and complained. He was told there was a problem with the hot water and that a plumber had been called and would be there shortly. We went on and ate breakfast and then went back to our room where that water seemed to be fixed. The next morning, I was able to get my hair washed with hot water and then, the water turned cold once again. I had to finish since I was in there and soapy. The directions say .3 miles off I-85, but it's a lot closer and there is no sign. The hotel cannot be seen from the street leading to Hillsboro. The rooms are very small, but clean. A place to get a shower and some sleep was all we were looking for, so it was a good deal for the money.

Liked room layout, nice location across from Daniel Boone antique shopping center. Room smells musty. Movie rental broken, no one seemed interested in fixing it. Next time I would spend a few more bucks and have a nicer stay.
