Microtel Inn & Suites Bethel / Danbury - Бетел

We were in a first floor room close to the entrance so there was a lot of traffic. Walls seemed paper-thin as were the towels. However, the service was very friendly and the hotel five minutes from our event. Also breakfast was very good. Next time I'll remember to request a second floor room as we have stayed at this hotel at least three times.

For the price, a very good deal. Clean, if small, room. Quiet neighborhood, notwithstanding location on major road. Good diner just up the street. Free breakfast at hotel is okay (it's the typical continental kind); coffee available all day. Desk and housekeeping staff friendly and helpful. TV and internet in lobby. The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful, and courteous, but the towels were very dingy. You could tell that this was an older Microtel Inn and Suites, by the bathroom, cigarette burn on the tub, dingy dirty white looking towels and wash clothes.

Hotel was very affordable. If you are looking for something in the Danbury area that is convenient and not fancy, this is the place. Great place for Pet Friendly accommodations.

The hotel was great! very accomodating as I need to check in early and they were great about helping get my room ready early.. The beds were so very comfortable and clean and it was a great value for the money..

i found hotel to be clean and tidy with friendly helpful staff.both at desk and cleaning staff.breakfast was good ,just a shame no cooked breakfast.but overall very good and comfortable stay,will be back for definite.

We have never stayed at a hotel where we had to search for washclothes and hand towels!!!! Both days we had to ask for assistance in obtaining these items. The first night, they could only "find" one washcloth for the two of us. Plus the towels etc. were of such poor (!!!) quality I wouldn't use them for cleaning purposes at my home. The hallway to the second floor really smells. The second floor is for smoking rooms only but really the smell for the hallway and entry to the stairs to go up to the second floor, should not be allowed. The room was not much better. Totally satisified. It was a pleasure to find a hotel room which did not include daark furniture and furnishings.

This hotel has no elevators. Very problematic for travelers with several luggage and a large cooler. The upstairs hallway reeked from the smell of cigarette smoke; half the rooms on the 2nd floor, including ours, were non-smoking.The odor was so strong it seeped through to the bathroom. The clerk was unhelpful when I asked if there was another room […] available because my husband and I have asthma. However, when we found out that the toilet in our bathroom was broken, the clerk had no problem moving us. Not only to a different room but to a room that was clear of cigarette smoke. Both rooms we were in are neglected. The top of the shower curtain is fraying, the bathroom light was on its way out, and the smoke alarm was literally hanging off the ceiling. The breakfast area is dingy. Carpets and seat cushions desperately need to be replaced. We also noticed that the evening clerk wore a t-shirt and blue jeans. Very unprofessional. The room was quite small, ok for one person but not two. I had the one queen bed ro and it was decent. The wallpaper was peeling and the toilet hamdle dripped water when flushing. We needed a room for the night and the night clerk was very obliging. He saw that my husband has trouble walking and moved us to a room on the first floor as there is no elevator.

Location is convenient. Just a minute from the highway. Has restaurant, ice cream shop, morning diner and target right next to it. Food and emergency things needed are easy to get to. Staff is friendly and rooms are very clean. TV old but plenty of channels to choose from. Great for a family trip.

Our room was 100 degrees when we walked in. The window didn't lock. The girl at the front desk didn't care and said the ac takes a while to turn on.

A great place to stay. Room was very clean and lots of room in it. Easy to find and the best thing they allowed dogs to stay in the room (which I had her own mesh crate to sleep in). As a breeder/owner/handler I greatly appreciate my dogs being allowed to be with me in my room. The clerk at the front desk was wonderful.

I knew going in that this hotel was going to be just so so. I was pleasantly surprised though as many of the ammenities were fine. the rooms are very small, though clean and neat. the hotel was rather noisy with a soccer team which ran up and down the halls yelling until near 10 pm. the breakfast bar is very nice and well supplied and the staff was friendly. economical but rooms too small for our taste and no elevator to second floor. guess you get what you pay for.

It was a nice enough hotel, no major complaints, except for clear lack of communication. Room was to be non-smoking, even confirmed when I called to request crib for room a few days earlier. Room was smoking, and being after 10 PM, we just lived with it. very good hotel and the breakfast was good too. The only issue was that the hotel staff were very friendly but when they brought towels to the room the knocked on the door and left the towels on the carpet outside the door in the corridor!

We stayed one night with a small 10 pound dog. It was very clean and nice. No noise. Also walking distance to stores & Pizza & Ice cream shops!!!! Great price too!

This hotel met my need -- an inexpensive clean room in the Danbury area, that provided me with two quiet nights stay over the Christmas holiday. It is not a 4 star hotel -- but that's not what I needed or wanted during this stay. There were some problems with this hotel that ruined it for us: There was an overwhelming cigarette smell in the hallway by our (non-smoking) room. There was no elevator and we were on our way to another destination, so we had a huge piece of luggage to lug upstairs. Breakfast was sad, even for a continental -- cereal with no milk? We've stayed at several Microtels so we are used to the small rooms. But both the location and the price worked for us. It would have helped if the place had an elevator. Close to highway but far enough way to not hear the traffic. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. For the price you can't go wrong.

This hotel is a disappointment. Although the free breakfast was better than expected, everything else -- room condition and repair, decor, deferred maintenance, mildew smell throughout room, smoky hallways -- was worse.

My wife and I enjoy staying at the Microtel chain. They are consistently clean and well maintained. This Microtel was no exception. The room is smaller than expected if you have never stayed in a Microtel but since we only use the room for crashing to sleep it always fine for us. And, the bathroom is large enough to move unlike some motels in the same […] price range. My wife is always a big fan of the breakfasts so we don't need to go out to a restaurant. Waffles, coffee, pastry, three types of juice, english muffins, bagels etc. I like the 100% free local and long distance phone calls even though on this particular stay I didn't use it. We had some issues with this stay that aren't typical. The AC unit in the lobby was leaking water so while we sat visiting at the table looking at photos the the books and photo books we set on the floor got soaked. We informed an employee and they said they would get towels. Also the front desk wasn't occupied often. We needed to ring the bell both time we went to the desk (for the water and for a blanket) and we watched two other people need to do the same while we ate breakfast in the morning. Finally there was a girl who was sleeping in the lobby. She didn't appear to be a guest and she wasn't disturbing us really but someone must have mentioned her to an employee as they approached her to see if they could help her with anything. She said no and promptly went back to sleep. She was still there sleeping in her chair a couple hours later but again she wasn't really bothering us but it was a little weird. The shower in our room had a leak and when you adjusted the type of flow it sprayed water over the curtain and all over the floor. I didn't have my glasses on and didn't notice until I stepped out of the shower to a flooded floor. I cleaned it up using all of our towels and then adjusted the shower back to the point of not leaking. The only one issue I had with the hotel is that there was no elevator! We were on the second floor and had to lug all the bags up 2 flights of stairs! he room itself was very nice though and the price was fair. As long as you dont mind gaining some muscle dragginf bags up stairs it was a good stay.

We stayed here for a bus. trip. The hotel was convenient, clean and very good value. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were somewhat small but that was ok.

Wonderful value for the money -- all the normal ammenities at a great rate.

Clean hotel with a great breakfast in the morning, including waffles!

There were just a few things that kept me from really liking this hotel. There is a cigarette smoke smell in the hallway (but not in our room). The tub/shower was oddly narrow. We were there three nights and never saw any shampoo. There's no elevator either. One bed didn't get re-made, one did.

Very clean and comfortable beds. Very nice maid staff and front desk. Will stay here again when visiting relatives in CT.
