Room is big and view is good. Room rate is relatively cheap because I booked 1 month in advance and I got early-bird offer. I will stay in Regal Riverside Hotel in future.

Hotel is far from most attractions and about a 10 minute walk from the closest subway station. Close to new town mall which is large, had great selection and very few tourists.

Wifi was only available in the lobby and the connection was not strong. A lot of mainland China, as well as Pilots and Flight Attendants who stayed at the hotel. THE HOTEL WAS ABSOLUTLY GREAT THE ROOMS WAS CLEAN & COMFORTABLE THE LOCATION WASN'T TOO BAD ALTHOUGH IT WAS KINDA FAR FROM CATCHING THE SUBWAY BUS THEIR WERE BUSES THAT WENT THERE WITHIN A SHORT TIME THE STAFF WAS QUIET HELPFUL.

Only complaint was the state of the carpets, i dont think they'd been vacuumed for a few months! but bedding and bathrooms were all clean and looked after. There is refurbishment going on which we were not advised about either when we booked or when checked in. Had to wait 3 hours for the second room when we checked in. After changing rooms because of the noise of the refurbishment 2 days later we got to wait 6 hours for the 2nd room. Room cleanliness and housekeeping was patchy. Concierge was rude. Front […] desk seemed overwhelmed when busy. Swimming pool unheated and only gets sun in the morning. Location is ok, provided you get an octopus card as there is a bus stop in front of the hotel which has frequent service to and from the hotel to the MTR. Internet in room is expensive. Free Internet in lobby is weak. Watch out for the shuttle bus service, driver fell asleep at the wheel when we arrived from the airport. Taxis and MTR are better value options. Basically you are paying for an average quality 3 star hotel and if you can get a good price and don't mind heavy drilling and construction noise in the daytime it's alright. But you can do better. It was a very big room especially in Hong Kong! I like the lay out of my room and I stayed on high floor with very nice view of the river and city. The room was clean and comfortable. I have no complain about that; however, the hotel is bit away from the city centre. I will recommond this hotel.

the hotel was fine and adequate for my needs which were somewhere close to the New Town Plaza and Royal Park hotel which my relations had booked into. This was perfectly feasible as i had booked an Executive room so went up on my first night and sat for a short while. On the second night i was politely refused entry as my room did not qualify for use of the lounge and its free drinks and snacks. However wifi was made available freely and so was the use of the well stocked gym. Both being gratefully recieved and used.Noise levels within rooms were good and room service was great, the breakfast selection being very good indeed and very prompt. We stayed in a quadruple room with our 2 kids for 11 nights. Overall, this hotel met our needs and was a comfortable place to rest and sleep. We purposely chose to stay in Sha Tin to be away from the busyness of Kowloon so the location was perfect. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from 2 MTR stations and about a 10 minute ride into Kowloon. Hotel convenient to transportation, staff was helpful. However, noise level from other guests in adjacent rooms very very annoying. Walls are a bit thin at this hotel. Also, toilets were not flushing that well.

The hotel is okay, not the best. I don't like to give bad reviews because I feel I can deal with a lot but not bad service and Check-in was the worst part. They would not let anyone check in until at least 2pm saying our rooms were not ready. I overhead them tell the British couple in front of me that they could have their room early but they would […] be charged. When I checked in, they offered me a king or 2 twin beds when my reservation clearly said 2 double beds. They said if I wanted 2 double beds, I would need to pay more. I said no and showed them my reservation. They argued with me and the conceded but said they only had smoking floor available even though my reservation said non-smoking. This started my bad impression. Not only did we have to wait and argue about our room, we had to change it 2 times because they kept giving me a room with either one double bed or 2 singles. They eventually got it right but our door didn't lock (we didn't realize it until nearly 930pm when my 2 small kids were sleeping and they came to fix it making all sorts of noises) and the toilet never got fixed which was a huge problem for me. Otherwise, the room itself was fine, the beds were the hardest I've slept on in Hong kong (I've been to HK many many times) but the A/C worked and the area around it was okay, although not great for 1st time tourists. I was quite pleased with this hotel given its 3.5 star rating. The room was very modern - the colour scheme & furniture were very up to date and a pleasant surprise. The bathroom, while quite spacious by HK standards, made you feel quite exposed considering the (glass) door did not close properly or block out sound, which is awkward to use the toilet […] with someone else in the room, it was very nice design but not practical at all. The bed was very large which was great, the pillows were nice & squishy, only problem was the mattress was too hard. I was pleased with the rest of the room except we were not provided with cutlery, plates or even a toaster. Found that the service was lacking, some staff were really nice & helpful but some ignored you at the counter for an unacceptable amount of time. Was disappointed that the hotel required a $1000 bond after no mention in their description & did not accept MasterCard. The view from our room was stunning, right over the river & we were really pleased with this. What did annoy us was the fact that the housekeeping ladies chatted loudly in the hall, but they were friendly, and wished us farewell when we departed. I really feel that this hotel could be 4stars if they 1.impoved on customer service, 2.provided a more reliable wifi, 3.provided free breakfast or an al e carte option for breakfast. This is an ok hotel if you are on a budget. Travel is dependent on a bus or taxi in order to reach major shopping areas and MTR. However, a taxi ride to a large shopping mall/Sha Tin train station is only $20. A major downside is no free wifi. Overall ok if you are happy to travel a bit more to get to main tourist areas. Rooms are big compared to similar price in Kowloon. We did not have breakfast included as a few meters away from hotel have wonderful eatries like dim sum, noodles and steamboat. I go to Hong Kong quite frequently on business and have stayed at many hotels and I must say that I have never encountered such poor housekeeping ( especially as this trip was my honeymoon). Most other nights I needed to call for towels, slippers etc. during our long stay our bedding was only changed after 5days. There was one good thing about housekeeping. […] On leaving the room we had one nice lady help us with our suitcases to the lift (which kind of redeem their service as I now know there is atleast one good egg in a bad basket). Other remarks about the hotel is that the rooms are large even in Hong Kong standards. Location is okay as it has a gd selection of bus stops outside the hotel to get you to most places in Hong Kong (one bus ride away from shatin Newtown plaza and railway station). Internet is a joke in hotel overpriced at hk$108/night, with no option of 1week tariffs and the free lobby wifi is a joke, so slow even with two people at lobby all tailored to try and get you to pay for expensive wifi. On quite a few occasions we smelt a pungent odour of cigarettes in the lifts even though its no smoking. The l'eau 3rd floor buffet restaurant was actually quite nice, even better than the Conrad in the admiralty but overall the rest of the establishment lets it down I will not use this hotel again as the Internet charges are far too high. Room was very large for a Hong Kong hotel. Everything was very nice. Check out the public transportation the shuttle to the airport was over $100 but the bus stops right by the hotel and a trip to the airport only cost $23.

Room that i was staying was a bit dated. Bath tap was broken and repaired job was only tempoary. Hair was still left in the bath after room was service. Lobby and front desks staffs were not cheerful. For what I was paying, I expect a better standards. Overall 5 out of 10
