First time in NY. Hotel staff was great in overall, very nice people and surprisingly asked for feedback when checking out while people who checked in could overhear - often indicates nothing to hide, which was certainly the case. Rooms very clean but small, probably standard New York. Gym very small and not really useful for other than treadmill and […] dumbells. Taxi to Newark $75 plus tip and tolls. Staff was very helpful. The umbrelas offered were a very nice touch and much appreciated. Afra was very friendly and professional and George as porter and bellman was attentive and helpful. Please thank them and all the staff for a nice stay.

Very comfortable room, close to empire state building, 15 minute walk from Time square. Good advise on where to go and where to eat. Coffee/Tea available in the lobby, additional check by house-keeping on status of room at the end of the day.

Old-world hotel with up-to-date amenities. A great bargain.

Service outstanding. Love the complementary coffee and tea. staff was friendly and room with turn down service made it luxurious. . Location was perfect for work in Midtown and leisure. walked everwhere and subway nearby.

Hotel Chandler is newly renovated, so it is good shape. Our room, was small (which was fine, no surprise), it was clean, nice decor. We arrived to a hand written note, small bottle of wine and a piece of chocoloate. There was turn down service, valet parking, and a really comfortable bed. Great location. Attentive and friendly staff, Clean, comfortable rooms. We were here for a romantic weekend, and the hotel was ideal. We will definitely choose this hoel again.

The hotel is all in all fine, partly aged which is not necessarily a bad thing as it gives the hotel a certain flair. The room was quite small with the window heading to the backyard, which means no view, but quite quiet for such a central location.

It was very close to the Empire State Building. Our Family is transit friendly - so we hopped on transit to do a lot of sight seeing. My daughter forgot her teddy bear and the staff especially Akisa were most helpful in collaborating to arrange the delivery of the bear to our home in Toronto. It is close to McDonald and other coffee places. Starbucks […] within walking distance; but if you are not up to it - the breakfast and all day tea and coffee in the hotel lobby is a treat. As expected of most boutique hotels in vintage NY buildings, our king bed room was... cozy. :) The room had good upgrades and was very clean. The staff was extremely prompt, kind, and helpful. The neighborhood itself was spectacular. A quiet street right off 5th in midtown??!! Great neighborhood feel so close to countless amazing restaurants, bryant […] park, the public library and shopping. Only complaint? The painfully slow elevator. The Hotel Chandler seems to have been recently renovated, the rooms are small but cozy with top of the line amenities -- Aveda toiletries, decent towels, comfy beds, enough pillows, and nice bedding, flat screen tv. This hotel is in between a holiday express and a boutique hotel. Don't expect the design elements to compete with some of the other boutique hotels in Manhattan. Things we loved...The oversize towels and bathrobes, the extremely comfortable beds, the hotel staff, the shower head, great minibar, awesome bell hops. Was great to stay here and then walk […] over to the Ace Hotel about a block or so away for better ambiance. When the bar is done, the Chandler is supposed to have a killer happy hour...$3 beers...which is pretty hard to find in NYC. Excellent location, staff great refurbishment going on but did not inconvenience too much. Would recommend the upgrade room as standard room on the small side. Would stay again definitely

A comfortable and lovely boutique hotel. The room was small but nicely appointed in a nice and convenient location. Can quibble that the placement of shower controls don't make sense and other small items, but overall a very pleasant NY experience.

My stay at the Hotel Chandler was a short delight. I look forward to returning. My room was elegantly modern and extremely comfy and quiet and the hotel itself, despite being in the midst of renovations in its lobby and restaurant, made every effort to minimise inconvenience to guests, offering breakfast and coffee in an alternate location in teh Hotel […] and an evening wine and cheese soiree. The hotel felt wanrm and "genteel" in a location just off a very busy part of town (adjacent to the Empire State Building) Very convenient for walks to Times Square, Flatiron, Herald Square and uptown to Central Park. Nice hotel. Good location. We stayed as a young couple. The rate we got was great for a 4* and the staff were very attentive and friendly. They were remodelling while we stayed so a complimentary breakfast and wine and cheese reception was offered, which was a nice touch. Building work did not interfere with stay at all - barely noticed.

Great hotel. The lobby and lounge/bar was under construction but the rest of the newly renovated hotel was fabulous. Great, posh room and friendly staff. Close to the metro and within walking distance from Penn Station. Will stay again!

Small pleasantly furnished accomodations conveniently located for shopping and theater district

Staff is great, but 2nd visit not as good as first. Seal on shower door didn't work, and bathroom flooded. AC/heater fan didn't work so no air circulating in room, and they didn't fix it during my 4 day stay. Red light behind TV would suddenly come on and flash in middle of the night. Breakfast was in a converted room during renovs, and smell of brewing […] coffee was overpowering when it drifted thru the vents at 5am. No place in room to hang winter coat (chiffoniere only hangs short items like skirts). Читати далі

This whole booking was a disaster as was the hotel, neglecting to inform hotels.com or prospective guests that they were currently undergoing considerable renovations. The Benjamin and hotels.com saved the day!

We found the best deal on this hotel and could not have been happier. If you have children, it is probably not the best place because of the room size. Nice furnishings. For a "deluxe" room it was very small.could barely walk around the bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again if rooms were bigger.

I stay at the Chandler a few times a year and always have a great experience. The staff is exceptional, the rooms, although small (this is NYC!), are clean and comfortable. I only rated the condition of the hotel as a 4 due to the ongoing construction in the lobby, which is nearly finished but in no way will interfere with your stay.

The hotel is lovely and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. I just still haven't acclimated to how small NYC hotel rooms have become. Not being one of the rail thin beautiful people of the metropolis I need a little more breathing/walking space between the desk chair and the bed... my leaping days have passed. The hotel was well kept and the room comfortable and nicely appointed. The biggest issue was noise. Being on the 3rd floor put us near the street where the noise incredibly intrusive. Other than the noise it was a great value for a night in NYC.

A comfortable boutique-type hotel within 3-4 city blocks of Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. Room quality was great. We had a small but cute room for 2 people. Free wifi and comp breakfast. Modern look, HD cable in the rooms. The hotel is within walking distance to almost everything and just around the corner from the Empire State building. Will be booking here again on next trip to NYC!

The room floors were clean and quite. The rooms were well maintained with flat screen HD TV's and wireless access which worked. Entrance was under construction during my initial visit; however, the experience was positive so I returned.

The hotel was wonderful. It had the largest towels I've ever found in a hotel.

great staff. great place we had a wonderfull time

We had a wonderful experience with this hotel. We found the staff to be be very helpful and pleasant. Renovations of the foyer/bar were happening while we were there(we were aware of this via the website) but as a "nice to do" there was a continental breakfast/wine and cheese in the evening laid on every day. The staff that "coped" with this did a great […] job. Great location, near to subways, within walking distance of Times Square/Shows/wine and choc bars/very good wine shop!! Having been born in Europe this would be considered a "boutique hotel" which means it is small compared to "North American Hotels" but worth it for "many other reasons" -loved the shower. The fact that there was daylight in the bathroom was "awesome".
