Comfortable hotel with nice view of the canal entrance

Great hotel on the Panama Canal (not on the locks) but on a walking path of the Amador Causeway. Breakfast was great with hot choices (eggs, fish), fruit, cereal and pastries. There is a TGIF restaurant attached to the hotel that also delivers to the room. Not in the heart of downtown which made this a nice respite.

I don't remember there names, but the 2 main front desk guys that we dealt with at night and in the morning was awesome. Super friendly and went out of there way to help us. Great place and look forward to going back!

Great area to view the canal traffic and if you enjoy walking or running you have the causeway to enjoy. Great place for the retired or if traveling with children. I extended my 3 day stay 20. Yes that good. Enjoy!

This was a great choice for my family for our last leg of the trip. Very American hotel for someone looking for a taste of home. Cheap taxi to mall and amador. Hot water pressure was very inconsistent though and it made it hard to give my son a bath.

I've traveled around the world so many times staying at a wide variety of hotels, but at this hotel I found a very special group of people that would go way out of their job description to make sure the family and I had everything we needed and enjoyed our holidays -particularly Ms. Gice at the front desk! For instance: they'd make sure all the children […] floats were inflated (and properly so), foresee when you might need a cab (and how long in advance depending on traffic), make very useful recommendations regarding our trip, etc... great location, close to the outskirts of Panama City. Easy for leaving Panama on the panamerican highway and closest hotel for taking ferries to pacific islands destination. 10$ taxi ride to the local airport.Great outdoor swimming pool

This is the perfect location to find peace and quiet in the city. We were very pleased with our stay at the Country Inn&Suites Hotel on Amador facing the canal in Panama City. The staff was professional and courteous especially YMA and the Hotel Manager which was quite helpful.Pleasantly surprised on the refurbished facility. TGI Fridays on location is a big plus also. Good food and reasonable prices. PB

Good hotel, convenient to work, but not downtown... taxis are plentiful and cheap, so not really an issue. Great view of the Canal. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms. All in all, a pleasant experience.. I would stay there again.

Nice rooms, great view of canal (if you get that side), good breakfast buffet, near bike rentals for riding on the causeway, some OK restaurants nearby, really good restaurants with spectacular views of city out the causeway (bike to for lunch or $3 cab at dinner), staff very good. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was good in the hotel dining room. For other meals the only option is TGIF Fridays which is not good. We could find nothing else in walking distance.

It was awful. We had the power out five times. One time it last 40 minutes. No hot water, you need to call the front desk to have it every time you want it. Front desk is very rude. The AC was too cold, and nobody knew how to fix the broken thermostat. Not enoug food in breakfast, they run out of EGGS at 7:00 am. They charge me $4.00 for a local phone […] call. Internet is very slow, and of course, nobody knew why. I asked for a wake up call, and they call me 30 minutes late, but front desk said it the time frame they allow for that calls. The hotel setup was great, the only downside was the attitude that if we cannot sell it we will not tell it. The room cleaners great and the breakfast was ok.

This hotel is excellent if you want some peace after the noise of Panama City. You will not like it if you want to step outside for restaurants and shops. It is near the canal at the top of the causeway and the only place to eat is TGI Friday unless you take a taxi. We are pretty easy going travelers and accept the little things that go wrong during our trips. However there were just so many with this hotel. A few days prior to checking in we stopped by and requested to book an additional night prior to the arrival date. When we arrived on the requested day they did not have the reservation. They put us in a standard […] room and instructed us that the next day we would need to move to the Junior Suite, as booked through Expedia. The next morning we talked to front desk staff and decided to stay in the standard room, since there was no change in the canal view and didn't want the hassle of moving everything. That evening other guests walked into our room because staff did not make a change in the computer system and gave them the room as well. Furthermore the night staff was very rude, even calling our room and accusing us of not following instructions from the day before. Not once was there just a simple apology. Very clean hotel but they were remodeling some of the rooms. The staff was GREAT and very helpful. The adjoining T.G.I. Fridays I cannot say the same about. The food was O.K. but the service was not! There are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

We were really disappointed with this hotel and regretted booking it for 3 nights. It is near the canal but not really near and still costs a lot by cab to get there. The cab prices in panama city are ridiculous so you are better off being someone more central where cabs are willing to drive to. We also found this hotel to be really loud- we needed […] to move rooms the second night we were there because we could hear people checking in and it was constant and very loud. We also couldn't get any food on Christmas night. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere in the city that is closer to every thing and cab prices are a bit more reasonable and hopefully it is just a better quality hotel. The hotel staff can speak English which was helpful. Hotel is a pleasant spot along the canal and is quiet. The beds were comfortable, rooms clean. Breakfast buffet was good. Hotel is just refurbished. Very clean, and with Wifi and a buisiness centre. Next to it is TGI friday's . Nice place. You will need to take a taxi to the most places, except Amador causeway and the Islands there. In weekend that should be quite lively but we were there only in a weekday.

We were very happy with our stay here due to the fantastic view from the balcony window overlooking the Panama Canal entry and exit. The breakfast was also excellent as was the quietness of the room and comfort of the beds. Taxi service was a bit expensive due to the hotel's location but "oh well". The view was worth it!

when initially come to and enter hotel lobby, has a musty odor......prob from moist climate, but might try overcoming by a spray to compensate. vary breakfast hot cereal and not always oatmeal check in/out/desk staff prob can improve overall presentation and helpfulness

I loved the location of this hotel. The view from the room was amazing...loved watching the ships go up towards the locks. The breeze was pleasant here too. The hotel is a little pricy, but you are paying for the views...The pool was having work done, which was a disappontment, because in the pictures it looked so inviting. It was really a great location for us as we love to walk. With the sidewalks starting behind the Comfort Inn all the way to the causeway and beyond to all three islands we got in alot of exercise. The islands provided all the shops and restaurants we needed. We felt perfectly safe in this area. What a great place to stay. I originally booked for two days and stayed two weeks. The staff, hotel, grounds, parks and walkways are great. A home away from home and you don't need to clean up. I have traveled to many places in my lifetime but these two weeks are the top of the list.

The location of the hotel along the entrance to the canal was excellent for viewing the boats entering into the canal passage. In addition the hotel taxis/tour guides were excellent. Great hotel..exceptionally clean rooms. We chose this hotel because of the causeway view and were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful, very nice buffet breakfast, lovely pools. Taxis needed as hotel is somewhat isolated.

The area is gorgeous, and perfect for seeing the canal, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The coffee is, as advertised, very good. Generally I would have been very impressed, had it not been for the room. The amenities advertised there are nonexistent. I paid for a room with all of these listed amenities, and got one in which the electricity […] didn't work (the entire time I was there)... with the exception of their mini-fridge and one small light on a far wall. One small light, and it was not the one in the bathroom, nor one near the beds. I have no idea as to whether there was internet, but if you had to plug in to get it you would have been out of luck. I tried the outlets. There was coffee in the room, but a coffee maker that (of course, without electricity) would not work. I am glad that I was not interested in all of the advertised premium channels, because those were of course also nonexistent. Hotel very nice, good location. Friday's restaurant was just so so but located on sight and had room service. The breakfast is included and was one of the best. Good choices.

We have arrived from another stayed at the Royal DeCameron Resort, Rio Hato, Panama. The Country Inn hotel room put to shame our previous stay. Although, the air condition system is a distraction. This system works well but is loud and is set in automatic. Constantly going on and off in the middle of the night tend to disturb a good night sleep.

Nice hotel. Great breakfast. I loved the fresh fruit and the kids loved the chocolate milk. I wish we had time to swim in the very pretty pool that was in a nice setting. I also liked the tile floors in the room because it is much cleaner than carpet. The ladies at the front desk spoke perfect English and were very helpful.
