Have stayed here many times before and will do in the future. Great hotel inc breakfast for a little more cost than the roadside beds from the big names. Always clean and tidy easy to get too loads of free parking etc

Very convenient for dropping off university students. Easy access to university and IKEA.

Good price, efficient service and generally very clean, only issue is rooms are very tired, our carpet was very stained including the valances on beds etc, although sheets and bathroom etc were very clean. Beds were well past their best. I have never slept on a mattress that has lateral movement and a 30 degree camber!! Not all the rooms we booked were […] as bad and we were told by a member of staff that tehy were getting refurbished, so don't dismiss and just ask for a refurbed room, or one with a better mattress. The hotel is convenient to the city via the tram link. The room was spacious but slightly dated and could do with brightening. As the hotel was quite full, the breakfast was disappointing, asall the food was not available to select when required. Only stayed a night so it served its purpose, TV was limited, no wireless in the room, but hey what can you expect from a budget hotel. Must have been very nice in its day.

THE HOTEL IS VERY GOOD AND WELL RUN BUT GETTING A LITTLE TIRED,REPORTED THE EXTRACTER FAN IN BATHROOM NOT WORKING AND IT WAS NOT PUT RIGHT,THE ROOM AND HALLWAYS SMELT STRONGLY OF SMOKE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A SMOKE FREE HOTEL,DID TELL THE RECEPTION BUT DID NOT GET A REPLY.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on a business trip... The only good things abt this hotel are free car parking and wifi.....The front of the Hotel looks modern, but once inside your opinion changes. Some of the Travelodges look better than this 3* hotel. Hotel looks tired, very tired, room was big enough but again, shabby and dated, strange smell […] in a wardrobe...There are stains all over the carpets and chairs, the surfaces are sticky, the dampness on the ceilings in the bathroom has been painted over, the furniture is damaged... The TV was an old 10 inch CRT with missing remote controller, we stayed there for a week so it was frustrating standing by the tv and changing channels...no one offered to bring a new remote, or change a room, or even buy a universal remote(you can easily get one in poundland!) ....after four days of asking the reception staff abt remote, they said, they can do nothing abt it bcoz remote controll is missing(seriously?!).... This Hotel would have been a great place to stay in its heyday, unfortunately, this heyday has well passed and the outdated Hotel with less staff than a local corner shop, shows its age. Check-In was quick and we were told that we could book a taxi at reception to go into town. When the rest of our party arrived, we got ready and went to reception to […] book a Taxi, and were told there would be at least an hours wait. If we had been warned about this earlier, we would have made other plans. Whilst getting ready to go out, I had a bath, whilst soaking, I noticed there was no overflow the whole thing was missing and there was a hole where both the overflow and the "Plug mechanism" should be. This meant we could not emply this bath. We rang reception and they sent a guy up who said he knew what to do and would be back in 20 minutes. 45 minutes later we rang reception and they sent someone up again, who said they can't do anything about it as maintenance will have to sort it. But he had no idea how long they would be. In simple terms, Only one of us could get bathed as we now cannot empty the bath, there was no offer of another room or anything else, and when we checked out in the morning, the bath water was still there from the night before. Really unhappy with the casual attitude from the staff, there was no attempt to offer any help in this situation whatsover. We stayed for the weekend as we were going into Nottingham on the Saturday night. The location was a little further from the city centre than I thought but this was not a problem aas the local taxi service was cheap and efficient. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff very helpfull. Very nice hotel just off the M1. Bigger venue than expected. I had the carvery which had a great selection of veg.

Excellent value. Porter put a spare bed in our room - at no extra cost. Lovely breakfast with friendly staff. Very convenient for university and town - by tram.

Nice hotel,I had a room overlooking the front and people smoking by the front entrance late at night made quite a noise. The staff were all excellent,cheerful and very helpful. The tram service from the rear of the hotel is a great way to travel into the city center.

We had booked for one night, as we were delayed I phoned the hotel at 6pm to check and the very helpful receptionist reassured me that the check-in service was 24/24. Good location for either Nottingham or if you are traveling up or down the M1, just two minuits from junction 26. Nice bar, good food well staffed even down to car park security. Would definatly stay again in the future and recomend to others.

I used the Nottingham Gateway for an overnight stay for a business trip. Freindly and efficient staff. Good location just off the M1 and has free parking and wireless internet in the bar area. We only booked in for one night whilst attending a function in Nottingham but were pleasantly surprised by the value-for-money offered by this hotel and its pleasant grounds. Despite there being three wedding receptions at the hotel on the night oif our stay, we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep and everything seemed very well organised. Stained worn matress and bedding, room smelt of cigarete smoke, the bathroom was very old and tired, no Wi Fi in the room. Breakfast in the morning was not cooked when required but instead all made in one go and left to dry on a dirty hotplate whilst the staff just laughed and joked the whole time.

This is a good hotel at the price we were offered on hotel.com (cheaper than at travelodge/travelinn). We were given an Executive room on a previous visit and that was much nicer. Clean and conforatble however miniscule LCD TV mounted off centre on the wall, a stange choice of location !

Excellent hotel, we enjoyed our stay (we were attending a wedding there) and the breakfast was fantastic.

reception / check-in ok - but wasn't asked if I wanted a paper. Couldn't supply a map of the area. dinner menu ok and service friendly but coffee was dreadful - room quite pleasant but bathroom was in a badly maintained condition. Told me that refurb taking place soon to fix the problem. Probably good value for the price charged in that area.

Excellent hotel, good location, worth it just for the FREE PARKING..... Did not use Restaurant, but it looked good, lot's of other guests using it. Free Pool in the bar area. Nice quiet setting, even though off a major road. If you take a short stroll down the road there is a Beefeater, with Children's Indoor Play Den, this was also excellent. The rooms […] were clean and comfortable and the shower and bath in working order. Room service was very popular. For the price we paid, we have definetly put this hotel to the top of out list. It's just off the motorway and a £10 cab ride to the centre of town. Clean, comfortable, and everyone is lovely and helpful

Very freindly efficient staff. Took grandson last minute no problem bed for him and made him very welcome. Lovely breakfast, again nice staff. Hotel bedroom in need of decorating but comfy beds and we had a quite night - no rowdy wedding!!!

Very good value for money. Theonly down side was the mattresses on the beds were rather lumpy.

Bathroom in need of maintenance; bedroom in need of refurbishment; internet connexion did not work in room only wifi in lobby accessible. Cooked breakfast poor quality, badly presented and inattentive staff despite low numbers in restaurant . Very disappointing second visit, probably would not return.

This was a really nice hotel with courteous staff and good facilities. It was reasonably priced and I would recommend it

The reception staff were pleasant and helpful, but thats where any quality stopped! All coridoor floors creaked, walls appeared paper thin (Sex and Vomiting loudly audible from rooms along the passageway-not next door!) As for security, as I was awoken at 2.30am on a Sunday morning by above activities and dogs barking (A dog show had taken place in the hotel with many of the competitors staying over), I went downstairs for a cold drink and a smoke, a few moment after going outside a vagrant pulled up on his bicycle and emptied the ashtrays in to bags, obviously a regular occurance as he knew the locations of them all in the dark? Great shame, it was once a lovely place with a highly regarded restaurant, now it is shabby and badly needs a refurbishment, some staff training would not go amiss either, being called "Mate" by a spotty youth serving at the bar is not on in a pub, never mind in a 3*? A very comfortable but well used hotel. With obvious signs of fixed problems over the years, it looked quite shabby. I wouldnt book here again on a saturday due to the bass noise coming from the disco below. Excellent grounds , facilities and communal areas but only useful as a one night only hotel.

A very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Within about a mile from the M1. Very close to the Nottingham tram system that takes you right into the city centre ( £3 buys you travel for 24 hours). The rooms are spacious and comfortable with free wireless internet access. You will enjoy your stay here!

The hotel was good value for money, particularly due to its good location. The hotel was v clean and tidy but is looked due for a refurb in some areas especialy the bedrooms and bathrooms. The bed was very uncomfortable. Cheaper to book via hotels.com than direct.

The hotel interior is getting very tired and clearly needs updating. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional, so more than make up for the rough edges. It was perfect for a business stopover.

we stopped at the gateway for a birthday as it is close to nottingham town, but not too close! Reception were very helpful and the staff were lovely. we have used this hotel twice and would recommend to others, it has a lovely restaurant, late bar and breakfast service. Our only criticism is that we were situated in a room close to an exit door which […] was constantly in use from 5am due to people leaving to go to the airport. Dette hotel ligger ikke langt fra motorvejen, så det er nemt at komme til for den gennemrejsende. Til gengæld tager det 20 minutters tid ind til centrum, hvis man vil med de offentlige transportmidler. Sporvognen er dog en hyggelig oplevelse. Centrum af byen er hyggeligt om aftenen og bestemt værd at besøge til eksempelvis aftensmad. På hotellet er […] der ligeledes restaurant og bar. Morgenmaden er en smule dyr, men der er til gengæld et bredt udvalg. Værelserne er pæne, rene og hele hotellet fremstår generelt nyt.
