The title of my review "Getting Away From It All without giving up on Life's Pleasures/Luxuries" says it all.

The hotel suite was nice enough, just very, very far away (a 5 minute walk across the road) from the hotel pool and restaurant. The bathroom doors did not lock, but everything worked in the rooms. We would definetly reccommend for any guests thinking of staying here to locate a map first, and figure out where they are sticking you. All the photos show […] the hotel at the water front, and we end up in a cabin, backed up against the highway on the other side of the twenty acre property. "awesome experience"
Even though I rated this less than 5 cleanliness, I should explain. The bathroom, kitchenettee, bed area were spotless. However, it is a log cabin. There were a couple of dust bunnies/webs in the front closet by the door. But, it is in a wooded area, with lots of trees and nature abound. "Nice but need more amenities"
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool but would have preferred the temperature of the water to be warmer, especially in the evenings. The staff was friendly and professional but the front desk was understaffed for checkout / checkin times. We would have preferred to have access to designated walking […] trails or pathways. The location was lovely. There was a pool, hot tub, tennis courts, bbq and the beach was clean and easily accessed. We went in March so the weather was not great. The Hotel room was very clean, had the use of a kitchenette and the fireplace was beautiful. It was quiet and family friendly. We would go back and also take our children.

While the log cabin-like construction of the rooms seems sturdy at first, there is just about zero insulation between guest rooms, which means your private conversation and activities are not private. The decor was fine and the tub was very relaxing after a long drive to get to Tigh-na-mara, but they really need to take care of the noise problem. "Nice, but really dated"
We only spent one night here. These are like quarter share condos This one is in a nice setting; lots of trees and close to a beach. We spent the night in a cabin type room...and it was comfortable and clean but really really dated. They have managed to add a flat panel TV in the past 20 years, but that is about it. "Beautiful property, upgrade your room."
This hotel is gorgeous, however, we stayed in the Jedediah Suites, which have no view (trees out one window and a parking lot on the other side). I think we would have been much more satisfied with an ocean view. Also, if you want to go to the spa, BOOK AHEAD OF TIME!!

Staff well excellent. Room was unique but very average for the price. It is more like staying at a luxury campground than a resort, or maybe I was expecting too much....(stayed 2 nights at the Westin Wall Vancouver prior to this at about 60% of the cost, and it is much more luxurious)

"FANTASTIC"
one word describes our stay AND our meal in the Cedars ~ Fannnnnnnn~ tastic!!!!!!!! The "Create your own pasta dish" is a stroke of genius. Also enjoyed the Ranceros Wrap the next morning. See you for our next anniversary. Elissa and James
Situated on a beautiful beach. We were in the spa section, so there wasn't a view of it. The spa was a surprise which we didn't have time to enjoy. Next visit.
"Luxurious, quiet, charming and practical"
Fabulous location on wide sandy beach, great for walking and seal-watching. Spa bungalow room was equipped with kitchenette and all the things you need to make your own meals. Absolutely immaculate landscaped / naturally beautiful grounds with path to beach. Bungalow was quiet and peaceful, set in forest and off the highway. "Parksville location"
Very conventient location -did not use any of the ameneties so cannot comment on them. Room was comfortable - housekeeping could have been better.
I stayed in a Spa Bungalow Studio which had a sheltered patio, I knew there were other guests in the vicinity but I vary rarely heard or saw them. It was a great retreat.

We loved your resort. Wish we could have stayed a week. We got a super deal on our room rate so that is why we decided to try your resort. The 1/2 priced appy's were fantastic. Would come back in a heartbeat.

We had such a wonderful stay at our hotel, everybody was very friendly, the Sunday-brunch was AMAZING and totally worth its money (ca. 30$/Person)! would totally go there again!

This is a wonderful place to stay. I had originally booked a spa bungalow but when I checked in I was upgraded to a deluxe oceanview suite. Wonderful customer service and great amenities. Easy access to the beach and a lovely dining room. Will definitely stay here again.

we stayed here while doing a golf vacation. The Spa bungalows are very nice and clean, however there is new construction happening right outside our window the only good thing is that they did not start hammering untill after 8am. also it is a bit far for some people to walk to the beach areas we did not find it far but we saw some people driving to […] the closest parking lot. we did go to the pool and hot tub they were very nice but also a bit of a walk in a wet bathing suit ti get back to the room. We ate at the cedar resturant for breakfast one day it took a bit to get a table for 3 and when we did it took almost 40 min just to get our breakfast of pancakes so breakfast took over 1.5 hours !!!. Enjoyed the quiet, clean & family friendly resort! The Pool was so much fun for our grand-daughter and we enjoyed the Cedar Room dining! We will be back!

Stayed overnight in one of the sea view suite and loved it. The suite has every thing and the beach is perfect.
"Bait and Switch"
We had reserved a Spa Bungalow room which included a kitchenette. When we arrived, we were told that we had been "upgraded" to an ocean view room because they had booked a wedding party into the spa bungalow area. The new room did have a nice view, however it was the smallest available unit on the property, less than one-half the size of the unit we […] originally booked. There was only a coffee maker and a refrigerator, rather than a kitchenette. It was disingenuous to offer a discount on a particular room type and then switch to a cheaper room upon arrival. "Excellent place to stay"
My wife and I loved the hotel and the dining facilities. Basically had everything you could want and more. Would highly recommend it.
Have stayed at resort almost every year for the past 18 years and always had a good stay. Particularly good for children.
It would have been nice to see a site plan of the hotel. our unit was across the road from the main hotel. We would have looked into getting a different type of unit had we know the location of the spa units. Very nice unit but could have used a bigger TV, no real view and the complex next door is still under construction.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for a wedding all I can say is as times change customer service isn't was it used to be, until we stayed here. Top of the line service we will be going back. Brenda & Rusty from Tahsis, B.C.

The perfect family getaway, esp for parents who want a little time to themselves. They have a fantastic kids program that you can drop the kids off for any amount of time between 9am and 5pm with structured activities, reasonably priced swimming lessons and tons of famiy activities. Even a nice new park on site for the kids to play. Located right above […] the famous Rathtrevor beach which is an activity in itself, going out half a mile every day! We had a fabulous dinner in the on site restaurant and next time will book ourselves into the spa. Our only regret is that our time passed so fast, we will have to extend our trip next time! (For those of you who don't have kids, or want to deal with them, the resort was calm and quiet, you really can't go wrong). Читати далі

The staff and managers of this resort are absolutely incredible!! I booked a suite for my friends' wedding night as their wedding gift, and I am certain they made sure it was the best possible room they had available!!! The staff were so helpful and assisted me with giving the room all the special touches needed to make their wedding night accommodations […] extra special. "Highly recommended."
The room was a decent size, great large deck and the location is super quiet and peaceful. The beach is beautiful. If I was to have one criticism the hot tub in the general pool area had way too much chlorine. That being said, it wouldn't stop me from staying there again. We had a wonderful weekend.

Our room was excellent. Lots of natural wood. Great tub and fireplace. It was one of the cottages near the Grotto.
