Room wasn't ready for 2 1/2 hours after check in time due to un organization of staff. Promised 20 minutes first time we tried to check in. Returned in one hour to find out it would still take longer. Sheets had blood on them. Looked like the worked putting them on probably cut her finger and just kept going. Overall happy with our stay. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location was perfect! 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel itself only has one very slow elevator so I recommend using the stairs. Breakfast was very good, better then others I've had. Our room had very old carpet and mold on the walls. This was a little concerning […] as my youngest daughter has allergies. Definitely visit Dunedin while you are here. Very good restaurants. Sea sea riders was our favorite. Honeymoon island proved to have the nicest family beach. Entrance is $8 per car. Clearwater beach is very heavy on the teen side. Just depends on what your preference is. "Small maintenance items would make big difference"
The lack or a bathroom fan (in existing housing) in high humidity caused the grout in the shower to go black with mould and turned our window into a water feature with the condensation. A ten dollar cost for massive improvement. The room carpets were such that we needed to leave our shoes on. Good=The room was clean and spacious, pool and hot tub over looking the river, breakfast bar, and mini-refrigerator and microwave in room. Bad=surrounding neighborhood made me question parking my car there, uncomfortable bed and old TV. Also not enough parking spaces for the number of guests when we were there. We arrived late after a wedding reception […] and there were no parking spaces left with several cars parking wereever they could fit on the lot or off of it. "Remodel"
They were apparently undergoing a remodel. The staff when we checked in were courteous enough however after a long drive the hot tub was not working properly which is very dangerous and obviously had not been checked recently or they would have known it was barely 70 degrees. I spoke with the person at the desk the following morning about conditions, […] it did not seem to matter because they were remodeling. The staff for the breakfast buffet were not very responsive and everything was out including coffee. No one seemed to be aware of their responsibilities there. without sat nav it was a little difficult to find initially, but the local police helped!! The staff were warm & friendly and answered all questions. Overall it was excellent I've been already in the hotel 4 times. This time me and my wife were surprised because the breakfast area was not ready and prepared for the hotel volume; it was not organized and not well served like previous stays. "Great friendly employees and beautiful rooms."
We had called for directions to the hotel from Clearwater Beach and the person at the desk gave good directions. Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain and some of the streets weren't marked. We stopped and called again & made it the 8 blks to the hotel where it wasn't even raining! Then, they gave a printout to get to Orlando, but we forgot to tell […] them we were going to the beach first. Funny thing, in another downpour, we wound up back at the hotel that night. After another set of directions, we finally made it to a Sleep Inn by the Airport in Orlando,which they had recommended. Bet they got a good laugh out of the 2 "dumb blondes",( my granddaughter & I.) So me and my family wanted a cheap and close place to stay, after searching for about an hour we found this hotel. At first we were a little concerned with the location but if you want to go to the beach (which we did) then its about five to ten mins away from the beach itself. Incredibly friendly staff! My family checked in late at night during the recent Tropical Storm Debbie fun. We only stayed one night, but really felt welcome and were able to relax and get a great night's sleep! Ironically, we had to escape to Seattle to get out of Sunny Florida's rain! "the most Disgusting Hotel, very unclean,"
It was very dirty. our room was labled non smoking, we were knocked over by the smoke smell, cigarette burns on the comforter, ashes in the coffee pot and mildew and mold all over the shower head. The hotel itself is a typical hotel. But the service is fantastic. Stayed for the weekend and they were so helpful.
