The stay was very good. Although it is on a corner which leads to the freeway and overlooks the same, the location is simply OK. But the room was incredibly clean and comfortable and with the room cooler there was no reason to open the window and hear the traffic. I would stay there again. Very friendly staff!

I was ver unhappy with this stay and will NOT use this location again. Rooms on North side face Santa Monica BLVD. with no buffer and are very noisy day and night. Rooms that face east face to Santa MOnica Fwy and are very noisy as well. TRied to change room but hotel was completely booked! Urgh! THere was a complelentary breasfast buffet. t was pretty […] good and a good slection the included Bacon and eggs. We had to stay near this hotel for an important date. They charged us Two hundred bucks for one nite. It is a $60. a nite place anywhere else. We had no choice...and got screwed.

The place needs updating and better cleaning. The edges of the carpeting in the room had so much dust buildup that a vacuum couldn't have been used in a long time. First, this Motel is about what I would expect from an old, run-down Super 8; the H.I. Express logo is blatantly misleading. The location itself leaves much to be desired. The Motel is located less than 50 feet from the freeway with no soundproofing. The neighborhood is fine during the day, but once the sun goes down it becomes decidedly unfriendly, […] complete with junkies in the alleys and ranting bums in the street. Inside the Motel the features are adequate, but the shower and toilet are only useable by people under 5' tall. There is also no noticeable pest control in place. Overall, this Motel would be fine for a pit-stop on a road trip, as long as you don't mind a very uncomfortable morning. Everything went well at this hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety and included eggs, bagels, yogurt, fruit, and an auto pancake machine. Obviously, milk, fruit drinks, tea and coffee also. The only reason for lower scores on comfort and condition of my room was that the A/C unit was musty smelling even after running […] for hours. The beds were comfortable (medium to firm). Be careful re: traffic which is like a SIGALERT all around the UCLA area until after 8pm. I walked the area to dinner, but it doesn't feel safe after dark (unlike the Westwood area which is upscale). If you turn left off of Santa Monica Blvd., (from Westwood and UCLA areas) stay in the second left turn lane (right one) so that you do not get trapped and forced to go on the I405 entrance which is the same street as the parking garage entrance. Overall, I would consider this hotel again since it is value priced for the area and includes breakfast. Note: I requested a room away from the I405 freeway and it was quiet. Overall the hotel was clean and close to UCLA. However, upon check in the front desk clerk was a bit over exuberant about signing us up for the Holiday Inn rewards program. The only other thing was that the toliet didn't flush very well. Other than that it was fine for our short stay.

Taking into consideration the noted pros--location, basic room with good furnishings/linens, large TV, desk/sitting area, bkfast, free parking..the cost of the hotel was not a great value overall.

Good price for a hotel in this location. Clean and comfortable. Parking garage is tricky when you approach the hotel for the first time, so be aware.

We enjoyed our stay, mother, daughter, and auntie. The breakfast was nice and was where a hostess asked how everything was and if we needed anything. All we had to ask for were some toiletry items for 3 and we got them. It was a relaxing experience for our family.

Perfectly fine for our purposewhich was basically a place to sleep. The hot breakfast was gross but if you just want cereal and a banana it's fine. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

I picked the hotel because it was the closest I could find to the closing ceremonies of this year's Lifecycle (which took place at the Veteran's Center in West LA). I was pleased with all aspects of the hotel, not just the location. All the staff I dealt with were cheerful and helpful - whether it was the front desk, housekeeping or the breakfast workers. […] The room featured cleverly designed furniture - especially a padded bench alongside the workstation - a genius touch. We also appreciated the pillows clearly marked "soft" or "firm." The free breakfast was a bit more nutritious than most places (would be nice to have more fresh fruit besides bananas, though). The automatic pancake maker was quite a hit with all guests. Within 1-3 blocks of the hotel we found a variety of restaurants featuring exotic cuisines, plus bakeries and frozen yogurt stores. At the corner of Santa Monica and the 405 it is a noisy hotel to stay in. Ask for a room away from the street.

The hotel is clean enough, staffs are friendly, and location is convenient to us. If you drive, remember that the parking is not free here although they have indoor parking lot.

Great spot for moms or dads visiting UCLA. Surrounding area is a little weird but I walked it. One bad thing - garage entrance is almost on 405 freeway ramp and can be hell during the rush.

Stayed here while installing my child at college. It was convenient, surrounding neighborhood was a bit sketchy but we walked it, Very convenient.

The complimentary breakfast was great! There was a good variety. The hotel staff is incredible. Very helpful no matter what the question. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Loved my stay.

Upon check-in, we noticed about 100 ants in the bathroom -- We notified the front desk, and they said there were no other rooms available -- They came and cleaned the bathroom floor and said they treated for ants -- We woke up the next morning with only a few ants in the bathroom and they said they would treat again -- We came back that evening to find […] ants crawling across both bed headboards and numous ants in the bathroom -- It was obvious they had not treated the room -- We were going to change hotels, but since we only had one night remaining, they put us in a different room for the remaining night -- At least there were no ants in the second room!! -- It must be said that the hotel staff were nice, but I'm not sure what they actually did to solve the ant problem. The hotel is in a very convenient location (right off the 405) if you are driving. I was not but it was convenient for getting shuttled to/from LAX. There are nearby bus stops for BBB (the BBB1 can get you to UCLA or Venice beach and some nice areas in between) as well as Metro (the 4 was a quick trip to hollywood). There is also a 24/7 711 and Subway […] right across the street which was super useful. The room was infested with ants .... this is why I give a low rating on cleanliness. I got some sugar and put it in a corner to try and keep them occupied and away from me and my stuff ... but it still wasn't very pleasant. It was comfortable though ( AC was great ) and having free internet was great. If it wasn't for the ant problem I would go back without hesitation because the location was super convenient. I think I'd still consider it when travelling alone ... but if I was bringing a significant other I would probably look elsewhere. Читати далі

perfectly comfortable room- but that's about all i can say. as you drive up to this hotel, you can't help but be concerned that you've missed the entrance. it is literally feet from the onramp to the 405. this means that traffic is a pain just getting to the hotel, road noise is everywhere, and just generally the location is a bummer (i suppose it is […] central, but... not in a good way) i also left my laundry in the bag, by the door, with the form filled out, and came back that night and it was exactly where i left it, still in need of cleaning. oh- and when you arrive back at night the door to the lobby is locked, and the front desk buzzes you in "to keep the guests secure", to give you an idea of the neighborhood. Wonderful and attentive staff, rooms clean, breakfast was free and good, close to bus transportation, safe parking and fine for a place to rest at night and sightsee all day in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles areas for six days. Very quiet even though it is located next to the 405 interstate.

Was perfect for visiting my son who lives a short distance away. Stayed for a week and enjoyed the free breakfast and the convenient location. The mirrored set up in the entry allowed for full length view and back of head for easy hair styling! I applaud whoever's idea that was. Was not fancy, but very comfortable, and the staff very friendly.

Needed to stay in this vicinity. The price was good, but we were right on the highway. Very noisy. No where to sit with co-workers expcept the outdoor patio. The gym has 4 pieces of equipment, and you have to walk through the underground garage lot to get to it. Breakfast buffet was ok. My co-workers were VERY dissapointed with this hotel.
