Howard Johnson Inn & Suites Toronto East - Торонто

This hotel has been forgotten by Howard Johnson. Not easy to find, buidling in poor condition, cannot access rooms from inside lobby, furniture and TV very old, mattresses are not flat, the foot of the bed are on an incline. Only good thing about this hotel they had a smoking room.

Hotel Manager at front desk very arrogant and ignorant, When I first arrived I was told there is no reservation for me, then when checked found out they gave my room to someone else. Finally they gave me a room and when I went into the room it was only one king bed in smoking section. So I went back to front desk and told them I have booked 2 double […] bed in non-smoking. The hotel misleads people with the very best pictures. The hotel is outdated and no modern updates all. The only thing good was the location.

for being an inn suites it was very bad. the room was musty. I was in room 1114 it smell like smoke. I tried to to talk to the house keeper and she would not get off her cell phone. I was trying to ask question about other rooms. She ignored me, she looked at me and walked away. DO NOT stay here, probably the most the disguisting I ever stayed in. There were stains on the carpet, the sheets were dirty and the boxspring were black with mold. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else

I must admit that Howard Johnson normally has a pretty good reputation. Unfortunately, this one is not at the top of my list. The location in good and there are restaurants near by. Although this is a positive thing, the pool area smelled really bad, the beds sank, and the bathroom was just dirty. And, the "free breakfast" is nothing to brag about (bread, […] bagels, cereal). Room was clean with patio door to the outside with a place to sit. Hotel was clean with complimentary continental breakfast. I guess the only caveat is you get continental breakfast, pool etc discounts at the restaurant yet a charge to use the lobby computer? Other than that we were pleased with room.

There are sections of this hotel that should be avoided with extreme prejudice. There is one wing of the hotel is blocked off for your protection. The ice machine on the second floor is old, broken and moldy. Part of the back end of the hotel is rented out to a limousine service. I expected a lot better.

If you're looking for cheap and not cheerful this is the place for you. Yes it is cheap but the downsides are nonsmoking rooms next to a smoker's coridoor, filthy and damaged bathroom sink, inadequate tea and coffee and too tight to provide any extras, strong Chinese food smell from adjoining restaurant, unkempt outdoor area, broken door, etc. Nice […] pool though and good access to expressway, free parking. The fact that this place had an indoor pool made it a nicer stay since we had our 9 yr. old grandson with us. Otherwise there was nothing special about the place. It was an okay place for the price we paid.Would not have wanted to pay anymore for it. Staff was helpful but not overly so. It was good enough for the 2 nights we stayed there.

For a simple overnight stay in TO, with a pool, for price it is a deal. Having said that, it desperately needs a facelift; it needs better service, the free 'breakfast' needs to be improved, repairs and cleanup around the building and grounds need to be performed, get rid of Limos, buses etc scattered around.

It was easy to miss the entrance of this hotel. We almost did. Reception area was dark and unattractive. No elevator to get to the second floor (we were carrying a heavy piece of luggage so it was an inconvenience). We were sent to a room that was already booked. Could of been quite embarassing. When we got a room of our own it looked seedy. Air conditonner […] was so noisy we had to turn it so low it was barely effecive. The hotel was a little rundown but the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We asked about taking the subway downtown and the deskclerk was very helpful. He told us exactly what to do and it was a great experience. The pool and spa were very nice. The complimentary continental breakfast was good as well.

We arrived at the hotel 15 minutes before check in and were told that the room wasn't ready come back at 3pm, we understood this as we were early. So we waited until 3:15 to go back in and try again and still our room wasn't available. We were finally about to check at after 3:30, we were told that because of the inconvenience that our room was upgraded […] to a deluxe suite. The room we reserved was supposed to sleep 6 adults, with 2 queen beds. We traveled with 2 adults and 3 children. The 2 beds were smaller then double beds and was very crowded for us. The sliding door that led to the "Balcony" was broken which made it very difficult to open or close. We took the children to the pool- no towel were provided and the pool appeared to be in ill repair. In the morning my wife walked down to the breakfast area with 2 of our children to check to see if it was open. It was indeed just opening up. The room had 5 or 6 staff eating the food, that we were under the impression was for the guests. The breakfast was limited enough, but to have to wait behind the staff as they eat and socialize was very disappointing. We will no longer stay at Howard Johnson, as this isn't the first time we were disappointed with the chain. Читати далі

The stay was ok..... I was disappointed with the property. The entrnance which was the first point of contact was not swept nor well kept. This did not give a good impression. The place was run down and needs a good coat of paint. The staff was very helpful and friendly and this made up for what the hotel lacks.

Room filthy, bathroom filthy, hotel is not clean and very outdated. For 10 or 15 more dollars you are in Holiday in or Monte Carlo Suites in better area

Incredibly unclean. I was afraid to turn on the facets for fear of what would come out. Old, mouldy smell. Significant amounts of mould in bathroom. Never, ever, ever, ever again.

The hotel is old and grungy, the halls smelt like urine, there weren't enough towels in the bathroom and their bath towels were the size of hand towels! The pool had no towels and no service so we had to walk to the front desk dripping of water and then had to wait till someone was sent down to give us some. Disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel. It needs maintenance - like the fan in the bathroom didn't work, the sinks were chipped and the toilet leaked.

I only needed a bed for the night as cheaply as possible so this Howard Johnson was just that. It was cheap, but comfortable. The linen was paper thin but then I hadn't paid for a five star hotel. It did the job.
