Having read the posts of others before our trip was not sure of what to expect. The service upon arrival was warm, helpful and accommodating and remained that way throughout our stay. We actually ended up staying an extra night. Our room was spacious, a suite, in fact, and while it faced onto parking at the front of the hotel, it also fronted a quiet […] wooded area. The bedroom was spacious with a really comfortable king-size bed and plenty of storage space. Carpeting was new in the suite and all areas seemed to be freshly painted.We used the exercise level with its pool and spa and enjoyed fresh apples each day, fruit-scented water and the quiet feel of the place. The hotel is newer, but the rooms are dated. The tv's are large and of poor quality. The channel selection is poor. Room service and restaurant on site is extremely poor. Everything closes for three hours after lunch. The gift shop is non-existent. Oh, the best for last. You will be woken each morning by roars of the construction crew next door hooting […] and hollering. When I brought it to the hotels staff attention, they more or less laughed in my face. Now when it comes to staff, trying to get the smallest of things..say like a cork screw, forget it. I placed two calls one afternoon, and am still waiting. This hotel is probably great for wedding and banquet type functions. As for a peaceful get away, do what I did and get a room over at the Lord Elgin...much nicer and the staff know how to treat their guests. Читати далі

For a 4 Star hotel, I didn't expect to find the bathroom floor tiles cracked nor the wallpaper that was peelinf off the wall. Expected more, but apparently there are some rooms that are renovated.

Stay was great. Loved the view. The kitchen needs improvement as the service was sloppy.

Stayed on a Thursday night. Large room with double beds, pretty clean. Never did find the TV remote! Bit far from a choice of eating establishments as we were mid evening before looking for a place to eat. Our room was close to the condo construction and they started work at 7 a.m., so we were up early. Nice place for the cost, beautiful city.

Checked in at 7pm and room wasn't ready. Had to wait 20 mins for another room. Ordered breakfast to the room for 6.30 - 7.00. Hadn't arrived by 7.15 and I had to leave for business meeting on empty stomach. Complained later that evening and was assured that I would get complimentary breakfast the following morning at 6.30am on the dot. Yet again it […] did not arrive by 7.15 and I had to leave. They comped a meal for me later that evening but as far as I'm concerned it's got systematic service issues and I won't be darkening its door again. Читати далі

Overall, our stay was very nice. The public areas of the hotel were clean and bright. The staff pleasant and helpful. Our room was dark and the rug needed cleaning badly. On our third day of staying at the hotel having been away all day and returning around 5:00 o'clock we found our room not made up. Called the front desk to be informed that they had […] until 6:30 to makeup the room. We ended up waiting in the front lobby for about an hour as they made the room up. Stayed in September, 2011. First room given had a smaller bed than stated and they had just cleaned the carpets. The smell was far too strong to take and we couldn't open a window because we were on the street side of the hotel. I stayed one night at the hotel. It was very nice. Our room did not seem all that inviting, but was comfortable nonetheless. The bed was very comfortable.

Beautiful upscale hotel located across from Ottawa so it is fast and convenient to explore the Gatineau region as well as all the sites and attractions of the nations capital. Rooms are elegant and tastefully decorated. Golf course looked beautiful.

The staff were very friendly. I sometimes worry when I travel in Quebec that my not speaking french will be an issue. It was not an issue and I appreciate that. I would definitely stay there again

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel a lot. My room was large and very comfortable. I also liked the pool - it was big enough to actually swim in it, not just bob around. They also have a nice hot tub.

THis hotel is easy to get to from Ottawa--very nice hotels, friendly service in both French and English. Free parking and internet a bonus. OUr room looked over the golf course so it was very quiet. Rooms are a nice size and the bed was very comfortable as was the pull out bed in the couch.

This hotel is in a nice location and is just 15 min from Ottawa downtown.

The Chateau was great! We had no issues with the room. We had little interaction with the staff, but they were very nice when we did. They spoke mainly French but switched to English after I said Hello. The hotel is very close to a cute neighborhood with great dining options, and it is an easy drive to the highway and to the city. It is a very good hotel to stay with family. Staff was very good. Only thing they should change is the TV, if they could only upgrade to flat screens, it will be added bonus.

We chose this hotel as a contrast to the city hotels that we had been staying whilst touring around Canada. Hotel / rooms are grand & good value for the price we paid. Nice pool. Only draw back we had, was staying a Monday night where it looked as if this was the 1 night the restaurant did n't open

Very impressed with the hotel location, golf course grounds are beautiful, the hotel itself is lovely. I couldn't believe that we had a very spacious suite for the price of a run-of-the-mill hotel room. Manuel, who provides valet service, was an absolute darling and made our very first impression a positive one. The pool and exercise facilities are […] excellent and clean as can be. The only problem we had was that we couldn't regulate the temperature in our room and it was a bit on the cold side. The Brazilian restaurant called "Ekko" offered a great eat all you can dinner for a reasonable price, everything was fresh, high quality, well presented and again superb service. A very good-priced hotel. Adjacent to a golf course. Access by bridge across the Ottawa River to the City of Ottawa.

after driving for 6 hours we had to wait 45 mins past the check in time to occupy our room.. we mentioned this to the the on duty manager and nothing was offered to us or any appology for the delay in the room. the front desk at the time was not instrumental in finding us a room or seeking a quick resolution to our problem. correspondance was non existant […] during the wait and if i had not approached the front desk staff numerous times, i believe my family and i and our 5 month infant would still be standing in the lobby waiting for our pre-booked room. The hotel was actually quite nice. The lobby had apples and fruit flavoured water which was a nice touch. The breakfast was also really nice especially if you chose to sit on the veranda and faced the golf course. The ONLY PROBLEM: the hot water tank broke and it took them 2 days to repair it. In the sweltering heat a cold shower may not be a bad thing […] but I could only do a quick rinse instead of enjoying a nice shower. If you have a car while visiting Ottawa, you MUST stay at this hotel. It is a 10 minute drive over the bridge to get from "French" Gatineau to "English" Ottawa. The rooms are LARGE with a sitting room separated by French doors from the bedroom. A small problem arose when, after a day of touring, we came back late at night to find our room had not been […] touhed by housekeeping. The woman at the desk threw the problem back to us by saying there was no one there to correct this at night. We were astounded because of its star rating. But .... it all worked out well when the manager met with us the next morning, apologized profusely, gave us complimentary breakfast for the next 3 days (plentiful buffet) , reduced the rate for one night AND had a basket of fresh fruit delivered to our room. We are a family of two adults and two kids (8 and 10 years old). We stayed two nights at Chateau Cartier. Upon arrival, we were told that we would be getting a free deluxe continental breakfast every morning (new promotion at the hotel). What a nice surprise! The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, cereal, bread, nuts, pastries...It was perfect for […] starting the day. The hotel room was very big including a two place sofa. It had been cleaned well except for stains on the carpet and black mildew between some tiles in the bathtub. Our room was near the construction site. We did not ask to be changed rooms because we knew the kids would be up early. At 7 o'clock precisely, the workers started making noise. We were staying Thursday and Friday night...on Saturday morning we were able to sleep in because no one was working outside. The hotel is near Ottawa. The Parliament is about 10 to 15 minutes away. We found the say to be generally great, the room was surprisingly spacious, with a door separating the living area from the bedroom. The bathroom was has updated decor and clean. The king bed was clean and comfortable...the 2 TVs although not flat screens were okay. The only negative was the restaurant staff were not very friendly....the wait for service […] took forever. I did not use the pool and spa but it looked nice. Thre was a state of the art gym as well. So, in conclusion, while I would unreservedly recommend the hotel, I would not say the same for the restaurant lounge bar (Table 20) Читати далі

Hello We were very impressed with the Chateau Cartier. You never know , when you have not been there before, if you will like it. We were first impressed with the view of the Hotel itself. Everything about the room was awesome- except for the couch. Impossible to get comfortable on that thing. Other than that, everything was great. I especially loved the complementary water jugs at the entrance that were flavoured with fresh oranges, mint, and berries. Very delicious, and appreciated on hot summer days.

An amazing little jewel of a hotel. Charming architecture, friendly, helpful staff, surrounded by aces of trees and the tap water, unlike Toronto's, for example, is quite drinkable. The pool is also nice and the hot tub is huge, seating 20 or 30 people comfortably. As of June 18, 2011, they are into phase 1 of a 4-phase construction project at the back […] right side of the hotel (literally 20 meters away), so if you need/want to sleep in past 7 am, request a front-left-facing room on the opposite side from the construction. If you're already up by then, it won't matter either way. We took an executive suite on the 5th floor opposite the construction. When I checked in they did not have a room ready. Finnally they had one, but the experince with the front desk was horrible. The hairdryer didn't work and when I called for a new one I was put on hold for over 10 min, so I hung up. I tried again in the morning and i was put on hold for 10 min again. At 6:00 I was awakened to the lawn maintenance going […] on outside the hotel. And again at checkout, it was a horrible experience. While checking out I was told that I had incurred extra expenses. When I inquired, she said she wasn't sure what for, then went to get her manager. He came over 10 min later and cleared it all up, but really there was no smiles and horrible attitude. Читати далі

But it is quite and if you like golf there are several course ( note - 1 18 hole course was under repair hole #1 only will be opened soon right on the property.) But other then that nothing wrong with this place.

Very nice hotel, service A-1 but some of the stuff included in the room wasn't there and we had to ask but they supply it with no problem. Good service overall.

Great hotel at a great price. Clean, modern facility. Helpful staff (in both English and French). Very Convenient location to all the sights in Ottawa.

The only thing wrong was that the converter to the TV did not work. We reported this to the front desk and they gave us new batteries for the old converter as well as a different converter, and neither of them still worked. Should upgrade this. Other than that, this is a superb hotel with excellent amenities and large high quality rooms.

We were pleasantly surprised at the pleasant location this place is. Our room was huge, had a Sofa Bed and the amenities were absolutely perfect.

we arrived at midnight and had no problems checking in. the hotel is huge and beautiful, rooms are very spacious and clean. the location was perfect for us: 15 min drive to Ottawa downtown, close to all local grocery stores and restaurants. water in the pool was warm, so kids stayed there for quite a while.

Great Experience and great Staff. Impressed with the service and the bilingual opportunity was very nice.
