Beautiful hotel in lovely setting overlooking golf course. the rooms were lovely, clean and spacious.The food was very good,although we were kept waiting three quarters of an hour one night for bar-food. overall a very good experience!

Great facilities

Room was miles from reception. As you walked away from reception the surroundings got scruffier. The room was very shabby, there was mould around the windows, which overlooked another building. The golf course may be beautiful but you could not see it from Room 148

Very friendly hotel. Good experience. We were there for a Wedding and the staff and the venue were of a very high standard. It even snowed which made the setting even more romantic.

I choose this hotel purely for location and price. With those in mind it was a quality choice. I managed to eat in the bar and enjoyed a meal. Unfortunately I was woken in the early hours of the morning by delivery trucks and this was a let down as far I was concerned.

Basically clean, staff helpful but the building is tired and needs a bit of revamping. The heating system is noisy which was quite irritating in the middle of the night. Breakfast was good and the restaurant location was pleasant with good views. Comfy lounge.

Our room at the Selsdon Park Hotel was large, quiet and comfortable. What more could we have asked from a one night stay? Well a more thorough clean of the room for one which would not have left a dirty paper tissue on the floor! There were no flannels in the bathroom which one would expect from a four star hotel. And no blankets in the cupboards in […] case of a cold night (though no doubt could have been supplied on request). But tea making facilities in the room were appreciated. Breakfast was only OK: nice cooked breakfast, but tough bacon; reasonable cold breakfast with a choice of fresh fruit (nice touch to include passion fruit and melon). My stay was a work xmas do. From this experience I would say this cannot be a 4 star hotel. I had the smallest double room I have ever stayed in (and I do travel) no mini bar - fine - but at least put water in the rooms. The noise level was appalling. Comfortable room, polite and helpful staff. But food and drinks were very overpriced. At the 3 course set meal in the restaurant, we couldn't get cheese instead of dessert - they said we had to pre-book it which we found unacceptable for such an expensive hotel. On the second night, the restaurant, bar and other public areas were so teeming with people […] we couldn't find anywhere to sit and have a meal. The building looked grand as we approached and inside was lovely. The room was spacious with a large bed. There was a fan available which we appreciated as it was a muggy night. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. It was lovely and quiet too. On our way to breakfast I noticed the beautiful ceilings and period features and the restaurant […] was lovely - a bright, pleasant room. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and helpful. We didn't use the leisure facilities unfortunately so cannot comment on them. A comfortable nights stay in a hotel which in places is slightly shabby but u are surrounded by a beautiful setting! The staff are really friendly and helpful. The spa area is a little run down and the jacuzzi had stopped working but all in all a nice hotel! Fab breakfast with a great choice!

Took twenty minutes to get a drink at the bar. Dinner was mediocre as is the breakfast, all the food was warm.

Nice comfortable hotel. Good surroundings. Would stay there again. The room was very spacious and comfortable.

A terrible nights stay as the door to the bedroom rattled all night due to the wind blowing through the corridor. In the morning told reception of the dissatisfied stay and they told the restaurant manger, who came to see me. He told me he personally couldn't do anything but would pass my details onto the Operations Manager who would then give me a […] ring in a couples of days. No call so I called three times and left message to contact me, still nothing. I then left two messages with th General Manager and no response. We stayed at the hotel as we were going to a wedding nearby. Even though there were 3 weddings and a party on at the hotel, the service was excellent.We were able to checkin early and get into our rooms early to get ready for our wedding. The grounds and public rooms are stunning. We made the most of the tennis courts and swimming pool, and walking […] round the grounds. The meals were also excellent. We checked into the hotel easily and quickly. We had booked this hotel as it was near to a Christmas function that we were going to. Once we got to our room ( after a long walk, through winding small, creaky corridors, up stairs then downstairs ) We were very happy with the room, it was enormous with a huge very comfy bed. We had 2 large windows that […] looked out over the back gardens and in the snow it was a delight. The room was very warm and the hot water was very hot ! We had room G61, it was quite away from reception as the hotel was full of Christmas work parties, the lady at reception said we would have a nice quiet room because of all the functions and once we were in the room it was extremely quiet, we didn't hear a thing from the parties going on at the hotel. Breakfast was good except for the queue to get toast, my recommendation would be to have a few more toasters around the breakfast area. We sat at a huge window overlooking the gardens and it was snowing, it was beautiful ! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we wished that we were staying for another night. we will definately return to the Selsdon Park hotel in the future. Читати далі

Very disappointed, Very tired and old fashioned, in desperate need of a facelift and makeover. Very poor finish to bedroom furniture, depressing decor and carpets, Horrible small tiled ensuite. Breakfast fruit was all tinned. Wooded table was marked and stained, cheap with no table cover

Working in the area I've stayed at this Hotel a few times and it offers good value for money if you book one of the advance deals. Nice rooms, good location, you can walk to restaurants, gym and pool etc. Negatives would be never enough staff on reception at peak times and dinner is expensive in the restaurant (fine if its a treat but not if your away […] on your own) but ok in the bar. Finally try and avoid Deloittes when they are inducting their graduates. The management at the hotel finally got the "little angels" to end their room party at 3.45 friday morning. was very busy on arrival. We could not get in to our room till after 3pm as there was a wedding the day before & the rooms were not cleaned. Ftor what we paid we were happy with the hotel. It is a stately building, quite majestic and offers plenty of options with the leisure centre. Bars, golf ect. 2 stops from Victoria station (london)if boarding at east croydon. Complimentary courtesy bus.we found out after the fact, used taxi. We booked two rooms the twin room was outstanding, large updated […] with views, well worthe what we paid. The second room was the double, much smaller, not updated and had plumbing issues, low water pressure and cistern problems. None the less this didn't overshadow the overall experience. We had our wedding reception at the Selsdon 10 years ago and went back for a romantic anniversary celebration. The function rooms were fine but the decor in the hallways and in the rooms had deteriorated since our last visit. In the hall way the carpets were rucked up (dangerous) and there was defintiely a need for redecorating. The rooms are basic […] and don't match the likes of other hotel chains. Service was terrific and the breakfast was super. Hotel is in great surroundings the rooms are a good size but a little tired. But overall great value.

I stayed at the Selsdon for two nights on business. Plus points: Grand feeling, beautiful grounds, lots of staff around, good value, great shower, breakfast was excellent and dinner in both the bar and the restaurant was good. Not so good points: The whole east wing was hot and there was no air conditioning in my room. The rooms aren’t as grand as the […] rest of the hotel, but for the price I can’t really complain. The internet is wired and while it was fast (3.5Mbps up and down) there was no power socket on that side of the room – lucky I was carrying an extension that stretched across the bed and meet the ethernet cable in the middle! Hotel a bit tired, but given the price was an ok place to stay but let down by staff not doing what they said they would do (check if the room had been pre-paid and call back (three times) when double billing was queried

The hotel was nice, but the room decor and furnishings were old/worn. We booked a double, but received twin beds, they were booked solid and didn't have a double avaialable. The room with the bar was not adequately staffed and they struggled to keep up. The front desk staff was pleasant enough.

The hotel grounds were gorgeous, the hotel staff were friendly. I expected more when I'd seen our room. It was just okay. Don't set your expectations high. It was a great value for your money. I guess it did it's job. I give credit to the breakfast buffet! Great food! The bar service was poor and slow. The pool and spa area was the best!

Arriving at the hotel and checking in was a breeze, the lift doors were a bit of a health trap, especially if you are elderly. The reception phone was often not answered, having to call 3 or 4 times and letting it ring for over 2 mins without a response. Requested room service, a bucket of ice took 1hr 30mins to arrive, after 3 calls to Room Service […] and 2 calls to reception. House keeping was a joke, constantly chasing them to clean the room, after they arrived at 8.30am which was a bit early, asking them to return in a few mins, then finding out at 2.30 that they havent been. Calling Reception and housekeeping, many times without an answer. On one occasion the towels, placed in the tub as requested, we then placed back on the rads as if new and the bedsheets weren't changed. If you can put all this aside, then it was an OK stay, shame as the venue and grounds are very nice. Читати далі

We stayed 2 nights - our room was not serviced at all despite asking at 5.00pm to have it dine before our return at 11.00 pm - but it was not done. Except for a one hour period from 4 to 5 pm the room was unoccupied from 9 am to 11 pm. When we called reception we were advised, after some consultation with the house staff that it would be about an hour […] before they could get to us. This meant that it would be after midnight before we could get to bed!!!! We were told that they were short staffed. I ask you? Bar food In the bar area took 45 minutes to get a pizza and 40 minutes to get us an Irish coffee? We will never, repeat never stay in this hotel again. Be careful what room you book. Double bed was very small and furniture crammed in room. Not that clean - had to ask 3 times for more supplies. Breakfast food - not very hot but Wedding meal lovely. Drinks very expensive.

there were cobwebs in every windows and curtains did not fit windows. dirty glasses every where ever on stairs, damp stains in bathroom also in the bar there charge diffenant prices when there like and dirty laundry laying about from rooms the breakfast was always cold

Comme d'habitude , tres bon sejour, nous y sommes déjà aller plusieurs fois et nous y retournerons en novembre. Par contre le jacuzzi ne marche toujours pas!!! il faudrais qu'ils pense a le reparer.....

het hotel ligt te ver weg als je londen wilt bezoeken, je wordt wel naar het dichtsbijzijnde station gebracht, maar dan nog is het te ver. bedden zijn te klein ontbijt is oke, personeel vriendelijk, mooi omgeving prima zwembad

Hotel de bonne qualité, tres belles parties commune. Domage que le spa soit tres defraichi mais des travaux sont en cours au dessus , esperons qu'ils vont renover le reste. Petit dejeuner copieux. A recommander.

If you like to play golf and/or spend a romantical weekend in an old castle like hotel, this is definitely a very good choice. Building a bit worn out but rooms are neat and clean. Very good value for money.

In juli 2009 zijn wij met vier personen naar dit hotel geweest voor een paar dagen Londen. Onze twee (jonge) kinderen sliepen bij ons op de kamer. Het Hotel is prachtig gelegen en heeft nog echt de sfeer van een oud landhuis. Da kamers zijn ruim, het onbijt was heerlijk en uitgebreid (zowel engels als europees). Het zwembad is al wat gedateerd maar […] de kinderen vonden het geweldig, eigenlijk waren ze het hotel niet uit te slaan! We hebben zelfs een golfles geboekt met de kinderen erbij (niet echt makkelijk, wel leuk). Op een paar km afstand is een treinstation (East-Croydon). Je kan hier makkelijk komen met een taxi of de bus. We hebben een bijzonder leuk verblijf gehad voor een zeer scherpe prijs (ik kon het via hotel.com veel voordeliger boeken dan bij het hotel zelf), een echte aanrader! Читати далі
