It is really an experience to be living in Montparnasse. Here it is very old fashioned Paris. You have cheese store, bread store and fruit stores nearby. The subway is 10 meters away from the Hotel. Wonderful outdoor café and Bistro, Korean Restaurant, Chinese, Japanese restaurant. All in very reasonable price comparing to Latin Kvarter! The hotel personal […] is friendly! Of course it depends on you too. Goodness creates goodness I believe. We got help from the nice guy in the reception at night. We have not asked his name! Guidance to Mount Saint Michel. We were very satisfied with the room. It was very small, but clean, and had everything we needed. The hotel is across the street from the Pernety Metro station; a boulangerie/patisserie was right on the corner, and there were several decent to excellent restaurants and bistros within a few blocks. The location is very convenient for the price. Also there is an excellent bakery just next to the hotel -- strongly recommend to get breakfast and desserts there. The room is clean, though a bit small compared to other hotels in the west Europe I stayed. The hotel itself was simple but clean, stayed in a standard room for 7 nights. It wasn't too noisy and the walls not as thin as the reviews advised. Free wifi was a plus although stopped working for 1-2 nights. No big deal. Right around the corner from the Pernety metro station. Downstairs from the hotel is so convenient: bakeries, fruit stores, a supermarket […] nearby, various restaurants, butcher and laundromat. The hotel is located just outside a metro stop, but unfortunately on an pretty uninteresting line. Of course the Paris metro is fantastic in it's service, so this is actually not a big deal. Walking to le Tour Montparnasse was not as easy as I was hoping - the area is big - and whilst very cosy and nice during daytime, at night the neighbourhood felt […] just a tad scary. The hotel was clean enough, but not more. The amenities were below average and the internet was slow. There was construction works going on so we didn't get to sleep in in the morning... The building is low and if you get a low-floor room there is not much light coming in through the window (covered by a Velcro attached lace and an extra curtain for making the room dark). The room smelled of perfume. Not bad perfume, but a bit too much for us. The bathtub was small. We did not try the breakfast - there are several really nice breakfast eateries (albeit a bit expensive) just outside the hotel. Читати далі

Ok, so I'm from the UK - and therefore am used to smaller hotel rooms than perhaps some of the American reviewers on here, however, just to get this out of the way, these really are small rooms (my cupboard wouldn't open because of the bed!) However, having said that, it was small, but perfectly formed - very clean, comfortable, lots of hot water, […] lovely bed, and feather duvet, immaculate room and lovely staff. Would definitely recommend it to friends (but only it if booked for the discounted rates available online.) It's in a great bit of Paris, with some wonderful patisseries and charcuteries nearby, as well as the local market on the weekend and it's very easy to travel to and from - with the Pernety station almost across the road and Montparnasse Station etc very close. Absolutely brilliant for the (discounted) price I got it for. It would be a five, but if I'd paid the full rate, I would have been disappointed, compared to other places I have stayed in Paris. Nice hotel in a fairly groovy neighborhood but further away from the main attractions of Paris (especially for a first-timer). We ate breakfast out and didn't eat any meals in the surrounding area either but all the basic services exist on the street. Great cheese, wine and other shops nearby and excellent bakery on the corner. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who'd like to be close to the sites, travel connections and who is happy to be in the centre of things. The only downside is that the rooms are Noisy, not just for the fact that you are affected by the night life noise outside but also the snoring sounds from the next room and any activities in the corridor. So […] make sure you take some ear muffs or if you are a heavy sleeper, then there is nothing to stop you from considering this hotel as an excellent choice to stay. This hotel had a lot more character than a chain 4 star hotel and the location was fantastic-right opposite the Pernety metro station, surrounded byatt small restaurants, cafes and patisseries, that were very reasonably priced. […] The room was modern, simple and elegant and exactly what we were looking for, at an exceptionally reasonable price. I have booked a superior room which happened to be very small. hotel is very quiet and just minutes walk from central Montparnasse. nice place to stay.

located in a residential area, 50 meters from a metro station this is a very nice hotel; rooms are clean and decent size with all the amenities. Would recommend it with not much reserve

Recently spent a week in Paris staying at Le 55 Montparnasse. The biggest selling point is the location which is about 100 feet from the Pernety metro station. This was hugely convenient, we were able to get to most sites within 20 minutes using the superb metro system. Staff was very nice, English-speaking, and helpful with booking airport transport, […] etc. Rooms are quite small but standard for europe, very clean with a relatively large American-style bathroom. Flat screen tv with mainly french channels but three or four english channels (MSNBC, BBC, etc.). Free wifi included. There are also a number of good bakeries and restaurants in very close walking distance as well as a supermarket. If you're in the area, check out the local restaurant Les Frangines, a pretty affordable bistro with good food. The neighborhood felt safe and was lively during the day but quiet at night. Note that there is a 1 euro per person per day fee, some sort of european tax. Also breakfast at the hotel is 9 euro, but you can just walk ten feet down the block to the bakery instead. Читати далі

Whilst clean, comfortable (except for one major thing) and very handy to a Metro station, cafes, bars and restaurants, our main 'comfort' gripe was the loud street noise at night that penetrated our room. Our non-airconditioned first-floor room was on the (cobbled) side lane and we were disturbed by every wheelie-bin, garbage truck, midnight party, […] and motor-scooter (double-glazed windows would definitely help here). The hotel's location was wonderful, decent room, not huge but clean and comfy, and free wifi! We never tried the breakfast because so many bakeries in the area. I would stay here again.

I went there this past week, the location is SUPER GOOD, a few steps of the metro. If you feel like eating or having a drink at night you can have it just a few steps also of the hotel. The room is small but clean. They dont have air conditioner but the weather usually at night in Paris is fine if you have your window open. Very small room but is good for budget. Close to a train station so is easy to access to other place but their not lift in the train station so not suggest to carry a heavy luggage.

Hotel staff could be more friendly and helpful as far as organizing tours etc.!!!!!

We were only in Paris for one night and had originally thought about a hostel. But I'm so glad I stumbled upon this hotel online. It had gotten great reviews before, so I booked and held my breath. But when we arrived it was better than we could have hoped! We were early, but the gentleman behind the counter was able to put us directly into a room, […] which was actually a free upgrade. We were on the top floor in an incredibly comfortable and clean room with a huge bathroom and large windows. The next day when we checked out they were nice enough to hold our baggage until we came to pick it up before our train. And its only 2 stops or a short walk from a large metro station with access to several main trains. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a lovely, clean, comfortable space to rest while in Paris. The reception area was small however inviting and we were greeted by the most pleasant of staff. The staff were good natured, happy to have a chat and provide any information that were able to give to make our stay in Paris as enjoyable as possible. Great little hotel, 25 metres from Pernety station and free wifi!! Lovely bread shop below and try the food at Turk...very cheap and surprisingly tasty! Can't fault the place:)

The staff was absolutely great. Held baggage while we went to Madrid. Move our room when the next door was Snoring too loud. Scheduled an airport pick up Service.and people A+++. The hotel was very accomodating when we arrived well before check in time. The room was perfect for 1 person but a bit small for 2. Save yourself some money and head out to a cafe for breakfast. Croissant, coffee and watching Paris wake up is some much better.

First of all, great neighbourhood, little shops, nice bars and restos and the hotel is literally opposite Pernity metro station. Hotel is very nice, boutique in sense of nice pristine white duvets and comfortable pillows and a good mattress. My bathroom was all white and huge (room 101). Flat screen HDTV. Only two downsides - no aircon and the windows […] of my room looked out onto a fairly noisy road so couldn't sleep with them open (the double glazing is very effective though). And no baguette for breakfast even though hotel is next to a fantastic bakery. So I went across the road to the bar for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends, and stay at this hotel again. The location could not be beaten. Virtually right around the corner from Pernety Station, steps away from fantastic bakeries and restaurants, convenient stores and more. Walking around the area of Montparnasse was very safe, and less touristy which is nice. […] The hotel was very clean, the room was small, but for 2 people it was comfortable. For those who need a very quiet sleep, this might not be the hotel for you. We could hear people walking around on the streets and eating at the nearby cafe's and also motorists, and also the music which went on until early morning! Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, modern. Very easy walk to two Metro entries and not far to Gare Montparnasse. Lots of places to eat without tourists! Small room for two people in twin beds. Busy, noisy street which may bother some; I sleep through anything.
