"Falls short of its potential..."
Hotel swimming pool and hotel's proximity to the beach are the reasons I chose this resort. Both were exactly what their website described. The pool's hot tub, though, was lukewarm and slippery in some places; not certain why it was slippery but this was a little troubling. Hotel room was nice but a number of items were broken and in need of repair. […] The shower door made a disturbing grinding sound when being opened and closed, and the liquid soap & shampoo dispensers were almost empty and plugged (nothing came out). The buffet restaurant (2nd floor) was beautiful, but the food was average and over priced. The breakfast buffet items were lukewarm, limited in selection and did not change from day to day. A station had been set up for special ordering eggs but the cook would only prepare the eggs sunny side up or scrambled (in most hotels, guests are able to custom order an omelette, but not here). The dinner buffet was not much better. Many other things were also overpriced, sometimes severely. The jet skis on the beach, which would have been fun, were so expensive I simply could not afford to ride one. When I attempted to rent a bicycle (which had a more reasonable rate), I was asked for a deposit on the bike in addition to the deposit I had already given upon check-in. When I asked the porter to get me a taxi, he quoted a rate; I asked him to get the taxi and I would pay the meter rate, but he refused (I discovered later that the quoted rate was double what it cost per the meter). While the outward appearance of this resort is beautiful, the maintenance of the hotel is not adequate and the service substandard; the hotel employees were friendly but seemed more interested in getting me to spend as much money as possible than in actually doing their jobs and providing good service. "Enjoyable Stay at Tianfuyuan Hotel"
Tianfuyuan Hotel has met our expectations of a 4 star hotel. We were relatively pleased with the service of the hotel staff and want to compliment Jason Den Pi Jun, who is very cheerful and helpful from the time we checked in and out of the hotel. He is an excellent staff, always smiling and deserves to be praised. He ensured that we had a free upgrade […] of the room without any hassle. Although the floor in the room is not that clean, the bed is too hard for comfort and buffet breakfast is nothing to rave about, we have no other complaints. I also managed to get some office work done at the Business Centre even though the computer is slow. The swimming pool is huge although we didn't have a chance to take a dip. The private beach across the road is lovely - golden sand and refreshing sea water. My sister and I had a pleasant walk along the beach, picking up seashells and taking lots of photos. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend Tianfuyuan Hotel to anyone who just want a comfortable and relaxing stay at Sanya. Читати далі
