It was great. I needed to have a room with the car handy and got just that so I could get stuff in and out of the room no problem!

Lovely room, very clean and comfortable. Loved the gym for an early morning workout. Great pool as well. Will definately be back.

The best hotel gym I've seen. This is important to me. The rest of the hotel was fantastic and the restaurant was excellent!

This hotel has so much going for it but we found the service especially in the restaurant very poor. I don't think the waiting staff have a any proper training.There wasn't much organization and their knowledge of the food and wine was non existent. My stay was okay but I was VERY dissappointed on two matters. 1. Stains on the chairs in the room. I told reception and the response was "it is a water stain" . I do not care what the stain is I think it is very bad to have left this chair in the room, not a good look. The occupiers of the room do not know what the stain is! the 2nd comment and in fact […] this is a complaint of lack of communication to dining room patrons - I paid $18.50 for 2 pieces of toast and a coffee!!!! This is appauling I should have been told the cost as I would NOT Have eaten my breakfast there! These two items tho not big do make me consider if I will stay at a Copthorne again. Читати далі

Overall a good experience. My only real complaint was having to pay for wireless internet. Having stayed in a number of hotels/motels recently the Solway was the only one that charged, all the others, internet was a free component of the stay. The facilites were excellent. We usually stay at the Gateway when we go to Masterton as the rooms are lovely and so quiet - of course you don't get the swimming pool, restaurant etc. but we didn't even use the pool as it was full of kids and the restaurant was a real dissapointment. The treadmill at the gym was also broken so didn't bother going there either. At the restaurant […] we paid $42 for a main of Venison that was almost raw and soggy roasted root vegetables (separate cost). Thought we just had a bad day but spoke to some locals who had recently had a rubbish meal for hideous prices too. IF YOU STAY HERE DON'T EAT AT THE RESTAURANT! For a Heritage Hotel it was very disappointing. We told them and they offered us a free drink which we declined and so they eventually said they would discount the meal - still came to $42 so think we just got the soggy veges for free. DON'T BOOK THE PRIVATE SPA FOR $5 - what a let down that was. The spa room was a poky freezing cold room and spa was only just warm not hot. As we had paid our $5 we decided to give it a go only to find the spa jets were so weak you could barely feel them. It's a cheap brand spa pool that needs upgrading. We lasted 10 minutes and went back to our room for a hot shower to warm up! The room we stayed in had been recently renovated and was nicely done but the TV is tiny - more like a computer screen than a TV. Читати далі

Copthorne Resort Solway Park Masterton was MORE than I had hoped for. It was in a quiet location most suitable for families - yet conveniently located on the main road 70kms North of Wellington. My room had the most comfortable bed, spotless bathroom and the safety of my car parked outside my door. A central corridor linked all rooms back to the Gym/pool […] area as well as the main foyer and restaruants in case of changable weather. Staff were most helpful at all times. I had booked my room in advance and would recommend others doing so. Only disappointment was that the indoor large swimming pool was being refurbished and not available for use during my stay. Most impressed with the excellent service received - when goods left in room staff went to considerable trouble to ensure we received these quickly - at no expense to us. Really went that extra mile. Will return - were treated so well - Denise on reception went out of her way to help us with transport and other advice - great meals at cafe and The Grill - couldnt fault it.
