Rooms look a little tired and shabby and the walls between bathrooms are thin. The room next to me were arguing over the name of a TV celebrity and I shouted it out for them. They thanked me.

This hotel was a great stay. The room was a good size and very comfortable and clean with all the perks of a hotel chain. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was great. It's a bit far from the city center, but the hotel itself was worth the money. I would stay here again.

I've stayed here twice on business in a crown room. Room and bath are nice and bed comfortable. HVAC can be a bit vexing. Breakfast is very good. Has a decent lounge with a large oudoor deck. Dinner buffet was awful (avoid at all costs),but have not ordered from menu. Surroundng "town" has no dining options, but it is a short trip into Cambridge and […] right next to the major highway. I cannot thank the staff enough very their efforts in making my wife and i's stay a stress free relaxing wonderful stay. The waiter service and food in the restaurant was beyond our comprehension. It was delivered to our table and looked and tasted divine. The swimming pool was a chilled place to relax and een my non swimmer wife went swimming ( all […] best hanging on to me whilst we floated around the pool).we both cannot wait to return and try out other hotels in this chain. The only negative was that he drinks were on the pricey side compared to a pub. But I could have walked to he ,coal pub only 5 mins away..( don't eat their though. It was a delightful stay. We go away as a family on each of our birthdays to a different part of the country. We'd not stayed in a Menzies hotel before (nor even heard of it) but were very impressed. Hotel was lovely and clean, staff were very friendly and the spa and pool area were great. I think the only thing that lets the hotel down a little bit is the amount of foreign staff, it can cause a bit of a language barrier at times.

Nice room, hotel easy to get to, large bar to relax in, great food, friendly staff. We just needed a relaxing break so we stayed 2 nights stayed in the hotel, didn't go out, used pool, gym and bar- perfect and amazing value for money

The hotel is average with inattentive staff. For breakfast and dinner the staff didn't actually say hello but merely 'room number?'. It was difficult to get a coffee for breakfast (20mins?) and the welcome was a bit shambolic. Its major advantage is that there are so few hotels around Cambridge, and the room, pool and gym are all very good.

Nice hotel, out of city and with parking restrictions in town, difficult to get in and out to visit and eat and enjoy. Balance cost of taxis against extra cost of hotels in Cambridge?

Our room was cold when we entered; an hour after check in time. The heating didn't 'warm up' as suggested by staff. Moved to another warmer room. The room was noisey at night with running water through pipes which kept us awake every 15-20mins. The spa was disappointing not as in the web site photos, the sauna was tiny; the steam room was 'out of order' […] the pool was no bigger than a school swimming pool. The spa bath kept shutting off every few minutes, no adjustable settings to use yourself, just wait in the water until the bubbles kicked in again!! Staff where were full of apologies but could do or say anything to relieve our disappointment. We stayed in the executive suite, so paid the extra for a better room :( We did get a refund on our bottle of wine, but dont get too exiting the food is only just ok. Читати далі

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great and the facilities were good. The pool and gym area was clean but maybe a little dated. Could do with a refresh! The room itself was very neat, clean and surfaces spotless. However, the phone also could have done with a clean as well. Also, the kettle cable was frayed at the end and […] needs replacing soon before it becomes a safety hazard. The shower was powerful and at a nice temperature. The pringles and kit kat was a nice touch. The drinks selection in the room was also good. We ordered room service and like the lady who brought the tray up, like all the staff at the Menzies, was very friendly. The burger was amazing and hit the spot. There was an additional charge for room service but was reasonably priced like the food (£2.50/tray). The location was a little far from town but itw as difficult to find a hotel of the same standard closer to city centre. The ten minute drive was not too arduous. In addition, the hotel was very spacious and uncluttered and this really makes a difference when you are carrying around a baby with you! Only one night stay while working in cambridge two things to moan about we're 1-water flow was poor from the taps and shower. 2-a pint of carling cost £4:25!!! So we went over the local pub by tesco's (the fox)

Run down in parts and bar/lounge menu not good value for money. Rooms ok but bathroom not as clean as should be - hairs in bath and on floor, grubby bin and dust in places. A room service tray with dirty plates, cutlery and old food was in the hall way upon my arrival and still there on my departure. Another guest told me it had been there two days […] and no staff had bothered to collect it or even check it had been moved. Standards in hotels are getting worse and staff training needs to be addressed. Expensive room for basic stay and not including breakfast - not a place I will stay again. Читати далі

Stayed for a week while my son was sitting exams in Cambridge so neither business or pleasure really. Staff were helpful and friendly, room was spotless and quiet. Near enough to the city to drive in within 15 minutes outside of rush hour. Pool was lovely. Food excellent. Room service excellent. Highly recommend.

We expected an overnight stay in Cambridge at New Year's to be expensive, yet the extremely reasonable price we paid included dinner and breakfast, and gave us the opportunity to have dinner in our room. Though the main reason we chose this hotel was the fact that they welcomed dogs!

Evening meal poor. Had to send 1 meal back. Not cooked to requirment. Restraunt manager needs customer training. Charged for extra bottle of wine too.

Very competatively priced and comfortable environment for either working or transit purposes. Food probably wont win awards but was quite pleasant and reasonably priced. The bed is very comfortable and while the bathroom is small the facilities were well up to the job. This hotel is being upgraded in terms of room. In general it is ok but the restaurant is very disapointing. The food choice is poor and the meals expensive for what they are. Gammon with eggs and french fries is nearly £14.00 without a vegatable and the quality was only satisfactory. We stayed in one of the few newly refurbished rooms which was very nicely done. The restaurant and reception area is clean and new, but the bar area upstairs definitely needs to be done next - chairs and carpet are pretty old and stained. Plenty of parking at the hotel. Staff very helpful - 12 pound taxi ride to get into the centre of Cambridge but […] I'm told you can pay that and more to park for the day in the city centre, so no problem really. 10 minutes away from Duxford which is a 'must see'. The restaurant was chaotic on the evening we chose to eat there. The food was reasonable, but we had to wait 20 minutes between courses and one starter (soup) did not arrive until the other one had been eaten.

For a 4* hotel room was a little tired, dining room could do with upgrading as both decor and furniture and furnishings were not quite up to the standard expected. I stayed 2 nights in room 211 and on the second I was woken up 4 times during the night with the hotel phones ringing in my room. As I was staying to visit my very sick son I feared the worse […] to hear the phone, but there was no one on the other end each time. The hotel is situated directly off the A14. With a bus service from the village to Cambridge every 20 mins, (which takes about 25mins). The local pub, the Fox is a 5 minute walk away which does food, which is worth knowing as food in the hotel is quite expensive. There is also a 24 hr Tesco and chip shop in the village.

The hotel, especially the public areas (toilets and spa) could definitely use better cleaning and general refurbishment. In the spa you're supposed to unwind, but this is not really possible when you have concerns about the cleanliness. In other countries such a hotel would not get 4 stars.

Staff, service & generally V.Good. Two things to improve hairdrier in room very noisy wouldnt blow a candle out require renewal, the only other thig is the decking area outside the lounge area requires more suitable lighting than a spotlight.

This is not a bad hotel but it is stretching it to say it is anything above a three star. The rooms were in need of a up date, very 1980s. The breakfast room was in a poor condition a bit like a greasey spoon,no table cloths we had to ask for butter,napkins because the plates were to hot and I cleared our own table as ther was no staff about, to be […] fair they were our plates ect; but the tables were so small you could not get that much on them. This hotel is quite a distance away from the train station. If you don't have a car, it can be a concern. The room is a bit outdated and small. The bathtub was old that you could see a few chips and that areas of black material were exposed. Its hot and cold water came out in two streams instead of one. I just stayed there overnight. Overall experience was rather positive, with the exception of the morning shower -- lack of hot water was both surprise and disappointment.

Staff friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. Unfortunately residents in next room arrived around 2am, and talked loudly, slammed doors etc for 3 hours! Sadly bus service did not keep to timetable supplied - not hotel's fault.

3 single beds in one (single) room made the room cramped. Room was at end of wing and very close to busy A14 - windows are not insulated for sound! Service excellent, quick check-in @ 8pm and check-out @ 8am, good bar service (during busy Euro matches they had 2 serving), breakfast service and food excellent. Note; it is very busy at A14/M11 junction […] and A1307 after 7.45am. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful but unfortunately as I was only there for one night, and it happened to be the night the gym was closed early for maintentance. It is next to the very busy and noisy A14. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room not facing the A14. Apart from that the hotel provides good accomodation and food.

We only stayed for one night but our opinion might only worsen if staying longer. The pluses are: ample parking, near to retail park for other dining options, good swimming pool and gym; on bus route to Cambridge (saving on high parking fees). The negatives are: beds are lumpy; bathroom was in dire need of replacement; restaurant is very busy and booking […] is essential. We were day-tripping to Cambridge and this hotel served its purpose adequately. Would I want to stay there again? Possibly, if I couldn't find anything better for the same or slightly more money.
