We arrived early and was able to check in which was good. Room was clean and was happy with everything. Until usd the toilet. It had not been cleaned, as soon as mentioned it to reception it was cleaned straight away so was very pleased with the response, shame it was missed in first place

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 6 months. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast is highly recommended with a very good choice and well stocked. The pool and spa area is clean. I […] thought £6 for a glass of wine was quite steep but the wine recommended by my waiter was delicious and just what I was hoping for. Hotel was lovely, room was very nice but noisy as it overlooked the bar and restaurant.

I agree with the earlier review, that the place dosn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off. Everything was spot on... We have come to expect a good standard from Marriot & this one didn't let us down.

Everyone very helpful, facilities excellent, all very polite and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others.

Hotel accommodation is good but restaurant/eating area in the entrance was too noisy. However room was cosy and nice.

The facilities are nice and we got a good promotional rate, but rates for room service, in-room phone calls, internet and so forth are prohibitive (they charged me a small fortune for a five-minute LOCAL phone call). In the health club, the jacuzzi did not have functional jets. Food was overpriced as well, with mediocre service, and breakfast is through-the-roof […] expensive. Location is awkward for seeing major Portsmouth sites. Nice rooms with good quality bedding; okay as a coaching stop if you can get a promo rate, but if you use any extras, be prepared to pay through the nose. The Hotel was clean and well maintained, staff were very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night so that we could take the kids around the Historic Dockyard but enjoyed all the Hotel facilities, Pool Sauna, Spa. We felt that the choice was limited and price was a bit expensive in the Hotel's own restaurant and was geared very much for business […] travellers. very nice hotel, unfortunatel for us the night we stayed they were having a school leavers party in the ball room, and to say it was loud is an understatement. The room we stayed in overlooked the pool which was very nice, but the ball room opened onto the pool area and the noice was unbelievable, we had booked the hotel because we had a early ferry […] in the morning the plan was to get up early (5am) feeling refreshed, the noice didn't stop until gone 12 even after my complaint. should have saved our money and driven through the night it would have made very little difference!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like a run down office block from the outside, fortunately its better on the inside. We had a family room which was located overlooking the garden on the 2nd floor. The windows may as well have been open for the sound insulation they provided. There was a wedding on hence the garden was full of noisy people who kept us all awake till well after […] 1 am. Lovely hotel, modern, clean, has all the facilities. Very comfortable bed. Free parking. Highly recommend.

It was the first time I have used the Marriott group and I was impressed by the service and the room also the swimming pool was enjoyed by my 4 & 6 year old. As expected there is always a good standard level of quality at Marriotts and this one did not fall below that. On closer inspection, there are areas of the hotel that are looking a little tired. Walking into Portsmouth is out of the question (even for us as seasoned walkers) There is a good train service once you get to the local station which is a 25 minute walk away. Stayed here in early August. There were three of us with a room each. Rooms were a good size. Two of them had King size beds and one had two large doubles. This room had no outside window but looked onto the foyer of the hotel. Not really a problem as all rooms have air conditioning. As the hotel is near a hospital you can hear ambulance sirens […] at night time so opening a window is not a good idea. Rooms had a safe and a minibar. Be warned - these are fitted with sensors which will activate when you remove something and will automatically put it on your bill! Do not use it to store your own water (as we did!) The bar is open plan with low seating and tables. The restaurant is incorporated into the bar area. This is where they serve breakfast. Breakfast is the usual overpriced fare. Better to order from the menu which we did. Eggs Benedict and Poached Haddock were particularly good. At the weekend there is a very long queue for the restaurant. If you're as impatient as I am, hop in your car and drive around the corner to Tesco where they have a 'Costa Coffee' .You can have a toasted sandwich and coffee for half the price! Evening menu was good. Nicely cooked and good portions. You can eat from the restaurant menu in the bar. Hotel is situated close to Portsmouth city centre. Plenty of space in the car park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott. Very good service, excellent food, plenty of car parking and good leisure facilities. Interesting open plan design means that noise can be heard from the swimming pool area whilst in the bar and the restaurant but we didn't find this a problem. The hotel was very clean and the service excellent. The included breakfast was first rate and very enjoyable. Only gripes were that the swimming pool was rather small and the teas and coffees were not topped up; and provided milk had gone off. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Tres bon séjour mais gros souci avec le lit ! Impossible de de tourner sans réveiller son partenaire (matelas à ressorts = rebords) Dommage tout le reste était parfait

Très bien dans l'ensemble. Très bon confort. Piscine agréable. Chambre pour quatre spacieuse. Juste un bémol sur la salle de bains où la douche ne donnait que de l'eau chaude, trop brulante pour prendre une douche ou un bain mais une personne est intervenue rapidement.

Mjög flott hótel, gríðarstórt, með lítilli sundlaug og heitum pott. Vil samt vara fólk við að þarna kostar bókstaflega allt, nettenging, bílastæði osfrv.

The hotel is a bit outside the city however the facilities were amazing. the diner area has a very nice set up that invites to relaxation in a very stylish manner. Plus the hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Also they have an excellent diner menu that has amazing daily specials plus continental dishes.

Unser Zimmer erhielt kein direktes Tageslicht, da das Fenster nur einen Blick auf die Hotellobby gestattete und sich überdies nicht öffnen liess. Ein Restaurant, das mit dem vielversprechenden Namen "Sea level" Meersicht verheisst, besteht aus einer banalen Ansammlung von Tischen im Lobbyraum, auch diese praktisch ohne Tageslicht.

Hotellet var bra, frokosten var veldig bra. Bassenget var lite.
