Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal - Люксембург

We traveled to Luxembourg from Germany for a quick vacation from the grind. The Sofitel (as always) was very nice. The staff are extremely helpful, pleasant, and even helped us pick a movie. :-) We also enjoyed the hotel bar at the top of the hotel. It overlooks the city and serves a decent collection of whiskeys. What more can you ask for?!

The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was spacious and we had an amazing view of the city. Highly encourage the suites they offer - great feel at a decent price.

Very modern hotel with excellent accommodations and views. Food is good and staff bends over backwards to assist.

Fantastic bar, good location and impressive internal fittings. But it's the human side that lets this hotel down. Services is far from 5 star ( concierge for instance directed us to a resturant for lunch that would be open outside of the 12-2 window, which after 10 mins walk we found closed for refurb for the month.. Kinda expect concierge in 5 star […] hotel to know if his nearest resturant is open or not!) Other issue was the rooms. They were too hot and you couldntn turn them down. It took me 3 days and nights too cool my room from 24.5 (or 27 as the engineers gadget showed) to 21. No good explanation given, some story about it being too cold for the a/c to work being the formal answer! Which seemed pretty lame for a hotel professi to offer 5 star comfort in the middle of Europe and the weather that entails. Altogether my assessment is : lukewarm. In every respect. Читати далі

Expect very good service in this hotel. Polite and helpful staff.

The Hotel is very well located, newly built and has a stunning view from the front windows, looking on to the old city. The bar at the last floor is very nice; the restaurant serves good quality meals, though for a 27 Eur breakfast I expect more than cold pancakes. Free Wifi also in rooms, free minibar (which has hardly anything inside), no spa, no […] pool, very inconvenient car reception (only 1 car at the time and when it rains it's a disaster). The design is very modern and not bad; but the rooms are quite small and have low ceilings. When you open your curtains you will feel happy to be there because you cannot find a better view in all of Luxembourg! For this reason rooms facing street are a must! Io my third visit I had a room with a quite noisy ventilation system. The rooms have very nice showers, but no bathtub. It's a very good hotel for business, I don't reccomend it for holidays with family. Up to now, it's my favourite hotel in Luxembourg; but I tried only a handful of them. Читати далі

The hotel has a fine shower, but rather oddly placed as a feature of the room (one could watch TV through the glass shower walls). The red and blue lights at the bottom are garish. It seems that the design is for an entertainment feature as much as anything. The rooms at the back of the hotel are welcomely quiet. nice hotel, wish the bed is firmer. restaurant on the 8th floor has a great city view, excellent service, pricey menu though.

Fantastic - the most comfortable bed in the world after a long car journey!

Very nice hotel we thought, pleasant staff, just took our car to private parking, 19 euro per night reasonable, bed comfortable, complimentary drinks in minibar, good location. Bar upstairs drinks were little pricey but people watching made up for it.

Plus: rooms tastefully decorated, free minibar (NO alcohol), nice bar, good music, location to city centre good Minus:Breakfast not included, minibar did not include alcohol, bar upstairs very expensive, no hotel parking, 18euro for public parking overnight

The hotel is good, the location is not in the city center but Luxembourg is very small, so you can walk everywhere. The hotel is just across the bridge!!!!! The restaurant at the hotel is fine but not excellent and the drinks at the bar are super expensive.

The hotel is a short walk from the city center (no more than 10 minutes). It's very modern but very luxurious, with a down comforter and pillowtop mattress, shower for 2, espresso machine in the room, double vanity, L'Occitane toiletries, and a whole host of amenities. There's even a business center in the lobby where you can use the computer and internet […] (and drink free bottled water), which we found very useful. Also, the concierge could not have been more helpful!! He recommended some great restaurants and helped us navigate public transportation. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Читати далі

The hotel was very nice. Room on the small size, but very accommodating. Well done, however,. All of the staff were very helpful, with good suggestions. A little bit out of the way, but not terribly, so worth a little walk to get to the city center. Wonderful view from the room.

Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and spacious and we loved the modern decor. We booked a jr suite and it had a marvelous bathroom. Loved that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. Large closet where the mini bar was stored, bottled water supplied daily […] FREE. I loved this hotel! My first trip to Luxembourg and I can't wait to come back, and stay here. I STRONGLY recommend that you pay extra for a room with a view of the valley, which is really a breathtaking view that I never got tire of admiring. My room was large by Europe standards, probably average size by US standards, but very efficiently laid out. […] Decor is modern, but comfortable. Bed was very very comfortable. The shower is kind of in the middle of the room, and surrounded on 3 sides by glass. This has a spectacular effect when your room has a nice view. But it's probably not the best if you are traveling with a child or unrelated person. The in-room coffee/espresso machine made wonderful drinks, and the minibar (non-alcoholic drinks at no charge) was really appreciated. I did not eat in the restaurant (rather expensive), but I enjoyed many nice cafes and sandwich shops within 3 blocks. The hotel has a nice, modern exercise room, and the concierge was extremely helpful about getting me access to a fitness club across town, called Ellipse, which I can highly recommend. Читати далі

Accueil très agréable, de plus le staff est toujours présent sans être envahissant.

Très bel hotel moderne. Bonne literie et chambre assez grande, mais peu de rangements. Le bar au dernier étage est très sympa.

3 nuits parfaites. Très belle vue, chambre : grande, confortable et soignée. Bien situé, centre-ville à 10 min à pied. Bar sympa mais assez cher avec vue sur la ville, idem pour le resto. Attention le dimanche carte du resto limitée. 3 jours de parking = 20 Euros au parking public juste à côté. J'y reviendrai sans problème. Prix sympa sur Hotels.com […] ! Читати далі

Let at komme til fra motorvejen, super service, restaurant i topklasse med fantastisk udsigt over Luxembourg By, lækkert værelse. Rigtig god (men lidt dyr) morgenmad. Det eneste meget lille minus er, hvis man parkerer i kælderen, skal man hele vejen uden om huset. En elevator direkte til receptionen havde gjort det helt perfekt.

Préciser que le parking revient assez cher, c'est le parking public de la ville. Petit déjeuner somptueux Déco top . Manque dans vos commentaires des adresses de resto au alentour de l'hôtel. Bien sincérement

Mooi hotel voorzien van alle faciliteiten tegen een gunstige prijs. Gelegen midden in de stad maar toch rustig gelegen. Dichtbij bezienswaardigheden. Een aanrader.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel et avons particulièrement apprécié la gentillesse du personnel et le cadre de l'hôtel. Les chambres sont spacieuses et modernes... Un séjour très agréable !

Prima hotel in mooie stad. Vanuit het restaurant een prachtig uitzicht over de stad. De kamer was prettig, goeie bedden. Een gebruiksaanwijzing voor de airco en het koffiezetapparaat was wel handig geweest. Vriendelijk personeel.

Helemaal TOP! Alleen..... en dat was voor ons onbegrijpelijk...... Je gaat op de 8ste etage heerlijk eten. Helemaal af,....mag wat kosten,en dat zit er in de - door een hardglazen wand nauwelijks op geluid gescheiden - bar een mafketel van een DJ keiharde housemuziek te draaien voor zegge en schrijve 5 barklanten. Geen enkele afwisseling. In zo'n tophotel […] echt geheel onbegrijpelijk! Het personeel van het restaurant wist te vertellen, dat dit talent elke woensdag en vrijdag draait. Flot hotel med alle bekvemmeligheder. Særdeles venligt personale. Restaurant med varieret morgenbuffet og mulighed for veltillavet aftensmad.

Très bel et agréable hôtel idéalement situé. Personnel prévenant et accueillant. Un petit bémol: les fenêtres sont fixes (on ne peut les ouvrir)

Rigtig godt hotel med fin service. God restarant med fantastisk udsigt over Luxembourg. Morgenmadsbuffeten er helt i top, men de ved også hvad den værd, meget dyrt.

This is one of the most impressive hotels in all of Europe. The service is superb! There is absolutely NOTHING to complaint about.. They put the S in Service!

Hotellet var kjempefint og rommet, som var en suite var helt utrolig. Dusjen var midt i rommet og resten var kjempefint, og vi hadde gratis minibar (alkoholfritt). Rent og pent! Morgenkåper og tøfler på rommet og gratis kaffe/te i egen bar på rommet.

Allt var perfekt! Rummen var coolt med en stor dusch karbin i självhuvud rummet. Sängarna var fatastiskt sköna. Baren och resturangen i högst upp hotelet med en fantastiskt utsikt över huvudstaden severade trvliga drikar och mycket bra mat.

Alles auf dem Level eines 5 Sterne Hotels. Neu gebaut, demnach sehr schoen. Einziger Negativ-Punkt: Die Dusche ist in dem Raum des Zimmer, d.h. bei Doppelt-Belegung muss man sich moegen...

This is a very modern and luxury hotel. The service was very good and fast and the room was very comfortable. It was 5 minutes walking to the city center. It was in a very beautiful location. We just did not had breakfast there because it was very expensive.
