Pacific Shores Resort And Spa - Нанус-Бей

We stayed in a ground level one bedroom condo. The interior was modern with fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher (a nice bonus) and stacking laundry with complimentary detergent. A few minor deficiencies--the pocket doors in the bath rubbed on the door frame which had peeled the paint at the bottom, and the fan sounded like a float plane trying to […] take off. The people above could be heard walking around their unit on the slate floors but not unheard of for condo hotels. The hotel is also located at the mouth of a river too wide and deep to wade across to access the incredible Rathtrevor Beach on the other side without walking back to the nearest main road and crossing the bridge. That didn't bother us much though because the low tide was always in the middle of the night. There is plenty to do on the grounds between the private sea-wall, the multiple hot tubs and outdoor kitchens scattered throughout the 15 acres of gardens, the thermal pools, free use of kayaks, and an amazing restaurant/bar with a two part giant salt water aquarium connected overhead by a water bridge that all plays host to full grown mature coho salmon, halibut, star fish and cold water coral, and then there's the spa. We didn't have time to book any services there but it looked luxurious. Overall it was nice to be off the beaten track a little and in a modern clean and well kept facility that was equipped for our needs. This hotel is not close to the center of the town(5 minutes driving), but if you want a quiet location with quiet beach, then this is a perfect location to you. We love the 'private' beach with lots of Oysters, clams, and sand dollars. This is the reason we may come back again. The hotel should be in a newer condition. But the house keeping is only […] provided for a at least 7 days stay. So the room is not in a should-be cleaness. I hate the sheet on the bed which makes noise all night long. The room seems very hot without an air condition during the night. The jet tube gave a lot of fun to my kids, also the big swimming pool. I can recommand this hotel to friends for its quiet beach, the swimming pool, and the friendly hotel services. We stayed 3 nights at the resort and had a wonderful time. The resort is right on the beach and it allowed for some great beach walks and exploring with my daughter when the tide was out. The resort is beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are very clean with lots of space and excellent ocean views. We did many of the tourist activities in and around Parksville […] and found the location to be great The only thing that I feel needs to be improved is the workout room which has poor treadmills and a larger outdoor pool would have been nice. I stayed here for two nights in August 2011 with my husband and 13 month daughter. Here are the pros and cons of the resort: Pro- Friendly staff Clean facilities Great kids pool/play area Handy convenience shop on site Close to parks, playgrounds, shopping, and beaches! Could hear EVERYTHING - noise and smoke from balconies - could hear every footstep from our upstairs neighbors - doors wouldn't close properly (not so good with a toddler tearing around the suite!!) - gym was great but machines were ancient! The room was nice and comfortable and modern and had a nice view. Depending on where you are in the grounds the outdoor hottubs can get really noisy at night. We had to find maintenance at 1:30 in the morning when the patrons wouldn't keep it down after asking. The rooms are not built for wheelchair accomodations in terms of space even after the site […] says all rooms are wheelchair accessible.and THEY ARE NOT!! We lost thousands of dollars as family members had to leave early and the hotel front office said "sorry". The kayaking reservation system needs an overhaul as "booked" kayaks were sitting unused and when we asked if we could use them were told they were booked. My sister had her wedding ceremony at the hotel the first week in August. We got a room for 2 days for her to stay at on the night before the wedding and to get ready the next day. Although the "resort" has beautiful grounds, an exceptional restaurant and spa, the amenities and quality of the room we stayed in did not match up. At all other resorts […] I've stayed at around the world, the room quality and service usually match the star rating. The room was very dark; we had to go outside the room to get her hair and makeup done because we couldn't see. Upon walking into the room, we noticed that the pillows on the bed were not in their place but tossed in the middle of the bed; the pillowcase was missing on one. We had to call housekeeping just minutes after walking into our rooom. There was also an exposed light bulb above the shower making us a bit nervous when showering. On our first morning, we realized that the hotel does not offer breakfast anywhere on their grounds. The restaurant doesn't open until 11:30 am for lunch. When we called the front desk to inquire, the woman told us that there was continental breakfast being served at that moment. We headed in that direction only to find out that we had to sit through a presentation (most likely for future time-share opportunities). We ran the moment we saw the man standing in front of his power point. I don't think any bride would want to go through that on the day of her wedding. There is no room service for hotel guests. We headed to the general store only to find a few baked goods (some from the previous day) and were told that the fresh pastries don't arrive until between 9-10am. We were there just after 9am. We settled for a couple of bagels and headed back to the room. On the afternoon that we were getting the bride ready, they finally sent someone to cover the exposed light bulb above the shower. Wonderful resort. I wished that I stayed longer at this resort. Great location to see tides. Luxury resort very nicely decorated and extremely clean. Great place for a family vacation.

No A/C is my only complaint.

I have stayed here several times and each time when there have been people staying next door the walls are thin and I can hear everything.

Time share complex not yet finished!!! Room ok for a bedroom but not for a holiday overnight stay - zero ambienceand clostophobic.

Zeer luxe ruime one bedroom suite, prachtig uitzicht op het wter, mooie omgeving. Uitstekende prijs/kwaliteit verhouding .Zeer goed en gezellig restaurant.
