Great hotel and very nice staff. No nearby restaurants though. We had a bit of a struggle finding a decent family place to eat.

Good place, stayed here three times over last three years. Paid half of what I paid last year before booking on hotels.com. Clean modern hotel. Good brekfast included. Beds are hard, typical for Italy. Air conditioning in the rooms is very weak, couldnt seem to cool off the room, even at night.

I've stayed here before and would do so again, It's location to center of town is very good. I know of a few very good restaurants within one of this hotel.

We were very impressed with the rooms because they were exactly as shown on their website. The hotel and room was very clean, staff friendly, and in a very good location. We took the bus (bus stop approximately 1/4 mile away) to the Vatican which was very convenient. If you want a formal lunch or dinner, there is a very nice restaurant in another hotel […] about 1 block away(please make reservations). The hotel has a continental breakfast but very minimal selection for dinner. I loved the outside pool, but unfortunately it was raining and a bit cool. Fantastic and enjoyable stay; bus stops are just short walks away with a friendly grocery store nearby, pizza shop, McDonald's and a convenient store along the main street.

It is an avg hotel. Location is not close to metro or good bus lines. Rome is beautiful though. Ask taxi how much it will cost and pay by the meter. We didn't do that and we're duped by one guy who took us for a ride.

On Saturday 7th July 2012 we left our hotel room, at 9am and went down to breakfast and then left directly from the Hotel. Upon our return to the hotel room in the afternoon I noticed that my mobile phone was missing. Later on in the evening at 7.30pm I noticed that my jeans were missing from the wardrobe. They had been hung up on a hanger the night […] before. When we returned to the hotel after dinner I realised that my polo shirt was missing as well. Both items I wore the night before and placed in the wardrobe. We left the hotel on Sunday the 8th July. When I returned home to the UK I noticed that my ipod which I had in my backpack had also gone! The Hotel reception said that maybe someone from outside had taken it or that I had missed place my things. The worst thing was that they insinuated I could be making it up as an insurance scam! They were completely uncooperative and told me all they could do was to suggest I go to the police station to make a report. Читати далі

Nice place to stay comfortable A little away from the coliseum and st john the baptist church. Close to the Vatican. Pizza 341 was a hit with the kids. Down Georgrio street toward the Vatican on the right.

Overall I would say this hotel was good, particularly for the price. The staff was very helpful and though the location is a bit far from all the sights, it's only a mile walk to Vatican City. However, we paid for a Class room with a balcony overlooking the city/garden and what […] we got was a tiny room with a balcony looking at a wall covered with some greenery. I guess this was the garden? Also, there was no sofa bed (where would they put a sofa bed in that tiny room?) and there was no tub, as listed. I think Hotels.com should look into this before listing a bunch of amenities that don't exist. We chose to pay more to upgrade to a room with a view, but I feel misled. TV and internet not working. Noisy renovation work starting at 0700. Reception didn't answer phone on occasions. Long waits at understaffed reception. Poor choice of room service meals. Unable to use pool due to renovation work Poor decoration. Poor breakfast area and food.

The hotel is modern as it doesn't have any of the ancient Italian aspects we expected in a European hotel. The staff was pleasant. The rooms were small but nice. The location was a short (and slightly costly) taxi ride from the center of Rome. But the hotel staff were able to get taxis there in less than 5 minutes. Our flight arrived in Rome at 9:30am and by the time we got to the hotel after 10:30am we had to wait until 1pm to check in. Positive: value for money, for 3 persons we got an attractive price - quite the same price as B&B in center of Rome and that we thought for a 4 star hotel! Negative: This is not 4 star hotel as it claims, but hardly 3 star. On foot it is quite far away from underground metro stations (nearest metro is approx. 1 km away), and it is generally quite far […] away from city center. Although there are buses which stop nearby (approx 200 m from hotel) and take you to Vatican and downtown. The staff is generally OK, but messed up with rooms. We booked a Family room, however we got a standard Double + 1 extra bed. It was obviously not what we expected. Didn't see much eagerness from staff to change the room when we pointed this out. Except from being DBL and not Family - the room was OK, however next morning I found a horde of nasty little ants on a toilet seat, on a floor, running up my feet (!) Next day they got much fewer and after didn't see them. I suppose ants occupied the bathroom as nobody lived in the room before us for a long time. The breakfast is filling with scrambled eggs, ham, stewed fruits, yogurts, cereals etc. However there were no fresh fruits except apples, no vegetables at all, and croissants where not croissants, but something else. It is all the same day after day, so on the second day it got boring. Anyway the breakfast could be better, but not much bad. As we were in winter the pool was not working. Resume: If you need a place to stay in Rome - have a look at B&Bs in the city center for the same price, it will be more convenient, although not quiet at nights and not much comfortable. I found this Hotel online and booked it due to the unbelievable rate. As far as value for money goes, it is definitely worth it. Not near any of the tourist sites, but a 20min walk gets you to the Metro from where to explore and get to all destinations. The room was extremely small (as is most other european hotels) but clean. Tough call, but if you are looking for value for money, and will only use your room to sleep in, not scared of walking and taking on the Metro, it is definitely worth a look. this hotel was not convenient to the sites of Rome you needed to catch two buses to be anywhere. the hotel itself was basic the rooms satisfactory but with not facilities as suggested (i.e coffee machine in room). Also there was no other amenities in the local area so going out for meals was a trek.

Positive: 1.General cleaning and the rooms - Excellent 2.WI-FI without problems Negative: 1.I was looking for a hotel in most hotels had registered "does not include city tax" out specific hotel that was listed and highlighted, "including all taxes." I had to pay it. 2.Location not very convenient. Nearest metro station 15 minutes walk with the ups […] and downs. By the way that line (A) works until 21:00. Bus 916 close but there were times Schach waiting up to 40 minutes. 2.Breakfast very basic.for exsample: sausages two types. One type cheese. All this on 2 platters.no salad 3.The walls between the rooms "You hear everything." You can hear all the noises and moans ..... 3.Reception service "perfunctory." I can stand 10 minutes until he finishes something and ask what I need. after check in I asked for a room change. He told me to come in the morning. In the morning he said come back later. After that, he said there were no rooms (there were people in the morning). Then he said to get a permit. I asked his replacement What happens with the approval ..... did not even know what it is ... By the way before I wrote them a letter request to let a room with a beautiful view (as possible) that I surprise my wife's birthday. Hotel Cardinal St Peter does look a little bit like a large youth hostel from the outside but inside the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Breakfast a little disappointing - largely pre-prepared/tinned goods etc Staff generally friendly although not very adaptable - e.g. would not open a second table in restaurant when all the rest were filled […] by a large tour group. Convient to Rome once you figure out the bus (just outside the property) and Metro (about a 15 minute walk to the stop)..1-2 Euros to downtown Rome versus 20 Euro taxi fare made it worthwhile to figure it out and male the walk .. The only thing that let this hotel down was the unfriendliness of a couple of the reception staff. Given the discount that I got, this was amazing quality. It lived up to its star rating and the cleanliness of the room was very good. Good location, several buses to the centre of the city and night buses.

A reasonable hotel and OK night rate for Rome. Good enough for a business stay. We actually stayed 2 nights separated by 2 nights further south in Italy. The first room on the 3rd floor was smaller but quieter. The 2nd was on the ground floor near to the lobby. A little noise but nothing excessive. For a place to lay your head when on business in Rome.. not bad. For a holiday stay, maybe somewhere more central. By warned if driving in.. the one way system around the hotel is a real pain. Looking at a map, come in from the West and just above Via Leone. The turning looks like a no entry because of damage to the road. It's the right turn just after the petrol garage. We loved this hotel, the breakfast was really nice and the staff was very helpful. The bus is one block away. It's about a 30 minute walk to St. Peters. or a 10 minute bus ride. The beds are a little firm but other than that the place is very nice.

This hotel is a little difficult to find but offers lots of parking. The rooms seem to vary a lot - from a small apartment to a broom cupboard. There are no facilties to speak of, such as a bar or a restaurant - but plenty within a short walk. If you have a car this is a convenient spot.

If you want a hotel with a balcony, a quiet location and a view of St. Peter's Basilica, look no further. The staff were friendly and the hotel was truly lovely and only a 20 minute walk from Vatican City. The bus to the other major sites stops at the bottom of the hill.

Some of the front desk staff was nice and tried to help when problems arose (see later), but others were very unhelpful, gave us wrong information, or told us to ask elsewhere (as in at a tourist information, in the city.) The nearest metro station is 1 km away, otherwise, you need to take a bus into the city, and figuring that without help is a challenge […] (the front desk doesn't a bus map, which is necessary). The neighborhood is very calm, but nearly everything except the McDonald's is closed in August. The breakfast at the hotel is atrocious, with artificial orange juice, overcooked eggs, bread that feels it's from yesterday, undercooked bacon swimming in fat, overly sweet pastries... only yogurt is palatable. We had a problem with our mini bar (it didn't work) and it never got fixed. While trying to fix it, they broke the air conditioning, which took 2 days to get fixed. They do not have ice to give out, should you need some in your room, and one morning they didn't have any butter for breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean, with amenities at a 4* hotel level, but I wouldn't stay there again because it's too far and inconvenient, and getting help is a too much of a challenge. The hotel itself is very pretty. On the roof there are 3 jacuzzi tubs with a gorgeous view. Our room was very neat and nice except the beds were as hard as rocks. The staff was super nice and most helpful. The hotel is a minute walk from a main busstop which is how i reccomend you travel.

Even before arriving at the hotel, we could not get through to the thotel as no one was answering the phone. The room was nice and the view from the balcony was nice. However, severeal problems arose such as the air conditioning not working and only fixed 3 hours into our stay, fridge not working for the whole duration of the stay and getting ice was […] a very difficult thing to do. Staff at reception were reasonably nice although not terribly friendly. The pool area was nice and clean despite the lack of parasols and therefore no shade for most of the day. My husband and I reserved 1 superior room and two single rooms for a trip with family last weekend. When we checked into the hotel we discovered one of the single rooms was literally a rollaway bed in a narrow, dank room on the first floor, whereas, the second single room was basically the same as our superior room. We requested a change in rooms and […] were told that a change was not possible. My 60 year old, father-in-law had to sleep on a thin fold-out bed for three nights. We recieved no apology or discount for the vast difference in the rooms. Furthermore, the breakfast was terrible- we have stayed all over Europe and Italy, the coffee at this hotel was by far the worst we have ever had! Very unusual for Europe! Also, After walking around Rome in the heat all day we were looking forward to sitting by the pool or in the roof garden with a few cocktails just to find that the bar near the pool closes at 5:00 PM and the roof garden bar opens closer to 7:00 PM, We waited, along with many guests for a bartender to appear on the roof just to find that they delayed opening because of the heat! Another small item to note is that eventhough we requested a non-smoking room, everytime we came back to our room at the end of the day it smelled like smoke. Upon arriving in Rome I was tired, hot and a bit strung out. I took a cab from the Central Train Station, which was about 20 Euros. I was pleasantly surprised with my cool, and comfortable room. Well air conditioned, comfortable bed, quiet, and reasonably priced. And the pool was an added bonus. Plan ahead if you take the metro, and its a bit of a climb […] up hill to get to initially, but I found it easy to figure out (about eight stops to the Center of Rome), and cabs are easily obtained at the front desk if you prefrer that mode of transport. Staff was friednly, the Vatican is a 15 minute walk away, and my friends who were staying in Rome were envious that I was better rested, and happier with my stay than they were.
