The hotel is well-located just off an exit of I-95. There are several restaurants nearby, including an excellent Asian restaurant across the street. We've stayed here several times when visiting family and it's consistently excellent. The hotel's rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The TV's aren't flat screen but they work just fine. Beds are comfortable […] and it's all very clean. They have a nice indoor pool, but grown-ups beware- there are always lots of kids in the pool, from early morning to late evening. Enjoyed our stay, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to add a room for a family member with no problem over the phone, I appreciate that so much. It saved them a car ride back to the hotel from the party that we were attending. Would stay there again if needed.

We stayed here while visiting family in Branford over the New Year's Weekend. This hotel is excellent. Rooms are generous sized and well appointed. We stayed in an "accessible" room this time because one of us has a broken foot and the bathroom was very well equipped for somebody with special needs. Very clean and great location

The hotel was very clean and the service was good and the breakfast was great. The only thing that was negative is that the hotel was noisey until around midnight. My room was on the first floor and you could hear the footsteps above and the people in the room were very loud.

The room was vert\y clean. And I enjoyed the fridge in the room. Some hotels do not offer that any more. But my daughter was not too thrilled with her sleeping accomadations, (the sleeper chair). We definately give it a gold star.

A little on the pricey side but nice.

Holiday Inn Express in Branford is a consistently good experience. We like their breakfast buffet: eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins etc etc etc. We didn't use the indoor pool, but it was very popular with families with kids.

The room was spacious, bright, and immaculate. The whole facility was clean - and smelled fresh without any perfumes or other tricks. My room was very attractive, clean, and comfortable. It had a nice-size flatscreen tv, a refrigerator, and coffeemaker. It was everything I needed in a convenient location. The lobby was attractive and there was a swimming pool and jacuzzi which looked well maintained. Last Christmas we stayed at this hotel and had a very good experience. We recommended it to two couples that were joining us at a party in the area. It was the only hotel close to our party that we would consider. When we got to our room it had a very strong smell of Fabreeze, or some sort of "cover-up" spray to probably hide the smoke to make the room […] "non-smoking" as we requested. One of our friends had a room that smelled of smoke terribly, and the other couple had a very nice room. Two bad experiences out of three is not enough for me to recommend this hotel again. In reading a review before we went, one guest was dissatisfied because he couldn't sleep due to 3 weddings in the hotel. That could conceivably be a problem, but we went on a Sunday evening and our stay was great - and price included breakfast in a nice setting.

Aug 2009: Stayed at this hotel after a visit to Yale. 15-20 minute drive late on a very dark rainy night on I95 & 91 was scary. But hotel was a nice surprise. Free apple and coookies on arrival were a nice welcome (milk would be a nice addition!) Hotel was great! The room was very comfortable in size, the bathroom was a little small but O.K. The pool and jacuzzi was a pleasure. The hotel also offered a complimentary breakfast the days we stayed. Would stay again

Let me start by saying that when the woman at the front desk handed me a key to room 101, I should have known better. It is the closest room to the front desk, the elevator, the breakfast room, as well as the pool and fitness facilities. But I was too tired to switch it and a little pleased that I didn't have to lug my suitcases too far. The hotel […] itself feels new and the room was clean and bigger than expected. Those are the only positive things I have to say about our stay at the Holiday Inn. We stayed for just one night - a Thursday - and the woman at the front desk told me there were 3 separate wedding parties also staying in the hotel that night. One of the groups of wedding guests was currently holding a party in the breakfast room that night. Becuase our room shared a wall with the breakfast room, we could hear every laugh, every speech, every round of clapping and every other party-like noise until the wee hours of the night. To be fair, we never called the front desk to complain (we planned to attend a wedding later that weekend and didn't want to bring any bad wedding-karma our way). I'm not sure what time that party ended because at around midnight we turned up the music in our room to drown them out and tried to get some sleep. At around 5 am we were awoke to the sound of banging cabinet doors. Hooray, the breakfast crew had arrived! I am actually quite a heavy sleeper, but we clearly heard every step of breakfast preparation as if they were making it in our very room. (BTW, we also SMELLED the bacon and eggs as if they were making it in our very room...for the entire 5 hours! It gets gross after the first hour, trust me.) We called the front desk, who laughed and then agreed to tell the breakfast attendant to be more quiet. There was absolutely no noticeable difference in the the amount of noise she made after our phone call. Convenient location to New Haven. Swimming pool was warm, which was nice. Had very good dinner at nearby diner.

Et minus er at det er lytt mellom rommene, men det gjorde ingen ting, alle gjester var klar over det, og i løpet av 5 netter var det ikke noe problem,vi sov veldig godt. Anbefales. Det ble stilt senest kl 11:00 hver natt. Fint hotell :)

éloigné des sites touristiques à moins d etre en voiture; bon hotel pour faire une étape entre new york et newport; chambre agréable; personnel très sympathique parlant meme français! bain à remous très agréable ; piscine petite un peu trouble mais les enfants en ont bien profité ; restaurants nombreux à proximité; seul point négatif petit déjeuner […] certes gratuit mais vraiment infect pour des français........
